Phitsnaulok a small city in north central Thailand which once was the capital for a short period. The hotel I stay in was with in walking distance ie 20 minutes of the main historical sites. To go to the main night market is a very short tax ride and the same for a very famous folk museum.

It's a pretty laid-back city with most attractions within reasonable walking distance from Petit Paramata. Walking along the river is great and a stop for an open-air foot massage highly recommended,

In Phitsanulok you can see how the normal Thai people live.
In Phitsanulok you can see how the normal Thai people live. People are not used tourists. I saw only some tourists there.
The inhabitants do not speak english. Only the staff in big hotels speak quite good English.
There are Buddha temples, but you can see them everywhere in Thailand. The lokal food was good and very cheap.
I find Phitsanulok a little bit boring. If you want to travel to a town almost without tourist and experience the normal Thai-life, Phitsanulok is a right town for you.

Beautiful famous and revered Buddha.
Beautiful famous and revered Buddha. River with cafes a long the banks and also floating restaurants. A pleasant friendly small Thai town with some historic interest and a river. Woodstock worth a visit. Eat overlooking river. Lot of nice small coffee places all over town. The Folk Museum is definitely worth a visit.

Didn't get around that much in town so I can't answer informatively about sightseeing attractions, restaurants, nightclubs, entertainment. Went to an obviously popular Indian/Thai restaurant but I didn't care for the food or the atmosphere--loud band playing Beatles songs.
Not appropriate for a family style dining place. There are many outdoor presumably cheap thai restaurants. Phitsanulok is a family town, you won't find the kind of salacious entertainment notable in Bangkok or Pattaya. Went to a nice hotel and did some karaoke. People I met were friendly, helpful, especially the security folks at the train station. Easy to get around. Taxi's were metered and cheap! Not like in Chiang mai, where 250 baht is standard fee at point of pickup.

Nothing special to see or do there, we should have avoided the city altogether, although we only arrived at 9pm to leave the next day at 9am, we could have spent more time elsewhere and avoided additional transportation. We grabbed dinner by the river, a few little outdoor restaurants with local youngsters, super friendly atmosphere but that's it.
Planned on visiting Phitsanulok for 1 day. Stayed much longer just because of the great hostess. She will show you around town and give you a true local experience. The hostel give will give you the feeling that you're out in nature with a great riverside view. Very laid back ambience. If you're backpacking out in Thailand then this is the place to go. Don't think about booking a room at another place because you will miss out on so much fun.
Will recommend visiting this place to all the travelers I meet in Thailand.
The location is in a small and quiet alley, so there is no noise at night. For a great price the hotel provides a service apartment with plenty of space for one or two persons. It’s also walking distance from the main temples and a bit longer walk will take you to the riverside night market. The food stalls close by are fantastic for breakfast.
Didn’t end up staying here I decided to drive 6 Hrs to Bangkok instead!, the room had a bath with shower head! I called and asked if they had a room with a walk in shower and they said no, all rooms were the same. The bed was hard as a rock and the hotel is just old and doesn’t seem to have had any maintenance done or renovations.
Very friendly hosts - thank you for lunch and lift to the station. Upstairs roof is a nice place to hang out and watch the geckos. Great for travellers on a budget who don't mind sharing. Phitsanulok has great authentic street markets and near Sukothai which is fabulous.
i start to traveling again after Covid for 2 years, HostelBed@Phitsanulok is exceeded my expectations, so valuable ..cheap stay with good view and extremely chill at small house next to river , easy walk to downtown and thx for Sunny :) the owner who take care me so well
It's one the best hostel I have ever stay in Thailand. Host was very friendly & helpful.
He has obviously made lots of efforts to up keep the premise which is SPARKLING CLEAN.
Strongly recommend to stay here when you visit Phitsanulok.
Clean room and value-for-money. Generally good location as well. Has a lot of nice halal eateries nearby for Muslim guests. You can find a great roti shop just opposite the hotel. There's also a coin laundry just down the road too.
This hotel is a little bit far from the Main Street .
If you want to have bf or dinner , you have to go by taxi . The lady at front desk can help you from hunger by ordering 7-11 . Otherwise you have to call taxi
Love the decorating style of the hotel with clean simple line and lots of greenery out door. Mattress and pillows are comfy. Breakfast was sufficient with nice coffee. Sufficient parking lots as well.
I chose this resort because of its location. I only needed a place to stay one night midway between Chiang Rai and Bangkok and I wanted to avoid the heavy traffic in the CBD of Phitsanulok.
