Cadaqués is a Spanish harbour town in north Catalonia on the beautiful Costa Brava, about a 2-hour drive from Barcelona. The white of the houses and the blue of the sky inspired many famous artists like Matisse, Picasso and Max Ernst, who decided to live there for a period of their life.

Beautiful town and coastline.
Beautiful town and coastline. Exceedingly windy therefore cold but we went in April. Restaurants and supermarkets overpriced but lovely church, museum, little shops and steep windy streets to wander around. Twenty minute drive to get there winding back and forth through the mountains so not great if you get carsick. Beautiful walks in all directions if you can brave the wind.

Cadaques is a small town, still with a lot of excellent small independent restaurants, design shops. It has some exquisite bays for swimming as well as exceptional scenery. everything is walking distance including the Salvador Dali home. If you like biking or trekking it is also a very good choice. Do not miss Cap de Creus natural reserve, where you can even have lunch or dinner. The food is always exceptional in Cadaques

Cadaques is a beautiful hidden gem. Most visitors have driven from neighbouring France or other parts of Spain, not many Brits abroad! It's a bustling and very family friendly town. Plenty of places to eat and drink and you can spend your days on the beach, doing watersports, visiting Dali's House, or at your hotel pool. Cadaques is a beautiful village. It is a perfect mix of elegance luxury and also within the reach of all. Cristall waters, small beach, good restaurant, nice shops, amazing bar. Cadeques is a very quaint little village with lots of lovely cafes, eateries and bars. Their is lots to see and a lot of shops (if you like shopping?). Not a place for high heals due to steep hills and uneven pavements but the place is full of people that like to promenade!. Very very busy place, lots of day trippers. All the beaches are small and rocky. A coastal walk is recommended to find a rare sandy (ish) beach. Picturesque and well worth a visit. Tourists predominately FrenchTrezise - 10Scored 10

Cadaqués is beautiful and you can walk around. We arrived by bus, which for us was a great decision BC parking at the entrance of the town by the bus station. The entrance was keyless, we check in on line and got via WhatsApp the code to enter, because they were gone by the time we arrived. They check on us several times to make sure we were fine. I would stay again in this property. We also got free water. Netflix is available as well.

Although the double room was very small we were delighted and surprised to find a private covered balcony with table and chairs and a rooftop view including the beautiful hilltop church. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was good, the shower room was basic but modern and clean. There was a safe and hanging space and bedside tables and lamps. The room was clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

There is a lovely little beach in front of the hotel and great dining options within steps. We loved our balcony room, a great view of the harbor and town all day and night. Despite being on the main road, the room is quiet and relaxing. The pool area is also really nice. My husband and I loved our stay and will be back again and again. This is our second visit. The hotel is physically located in a great part of Cadaques, right by the beach and a very pleasant 15 min walk to the centre along the beach. We prefer it to the hotels in the centre which are generally old, noisy and difficult to park. We will always come back to Sol Ixent when visiting Cadaques
