We liked the view and the room. We were able to leave our bikes locked in the courtyard garden under shelter. Staff were both helpful and friendly and did their best for us.

Excelllent accommodation!
Photos correspond to reality! Everything was clean and nice! The instructions from the host were clear! Highly recommended!
The town is in the middle of the Picos de Europa. Although not as well-known as some other mountain ranges, the scenery is as good as the Alps, if not better, The town centre is fairly flat with plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a very nice ice cream shop. All the local people we met were very friendly.

A pleasant village in the Picos - provides a better alternative to the busy and more popular Potes and Panes. Eating out is reasoanbly easy, though choice can be a bit limited. Quite a few hotels here and some smaller guest houses too. Scenery in the area is outstanding - I recommend for anything from walking to motorcycling.

We had timed our visit to coincide with the Cabrales cheese and cider festival (last Sunday of August) as we have attended this before and enjoyed it and we were not disappointed; the whole town was buzzing with people, traditional Asturian music and costumes and lots of superb traditional food.
There’s a regular bus service to Poncebos from where there is access to lovely walks such as the village of Bulnes (can also be accessed by funicular train) and the stunning Cares Gorge and others

This town is a gateway to Picos de Europa, where we did several days of hiking. There are some good hotels here. However, food choices are very limited, especially for vegetarians/vegans. Note that most places don't start serving dinner until 8 pm, which was a challenge after we'd been out on the trails until the afternoon.

Las Arenas is set in stunning Picos scenery.
Las Arenas is set in stunning Picos scenery. Cheese cave is close and worth visting, set above river of the clearest water. The approach to Las Arenas from the east is through a spectacular limestone gorge, along a good road with stopping places from which to enjoy the views. We did not have time to take funicular to Bulnes but would do that if we went again.

Came here to walk the Cares Route through Picos de Europa - a stunning part of Spain, simply beautiful. Lots of options in town for eating and drinking, and a supermarket also. Enjoyed our brief stat. The Cares Route walk, 24 kms, is not for the faint hearted though!

This was a lovely hotel/apartment. It was clean and the small kitchen area was equipped sufficiently for breakfast and making a light meal. Fridge is very useful. The staff and owner were extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much we returned later in our vacation. Arenas is a lovely town with good places to eat and, if you have a car, easy access to the northern part of the Picos. There are a few walks directly from the town.
This is a fantastic hotel, just a short walk from the center of town. The staff were welcoming, kind, and accommodating. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast very much. We had a room on the first floor and liked sitting in the chairs out front of the room, taking in the view and night air.
If you are a light sleeper, I suggest bringing earplugs as the walls are thin. Luckily our neighbors went to bed shortly after us so the noise wasn't too disruptive.
Our hostess Gelé was very personable and warm. Very little English-speaking was done in Arenas de cabrales and it was the same at the pension. But we wanted for nothing. The community kitchen allows you to keep a low food budget in a well stocked space. I shared a picture of the community space. Rooms on the river side allowed us to listen to the river and it was the best night of sleep our entire trip. I shared a photo from our window.
I highly recommend this hotel, our room was large, clean and exceeded all our expectations. We arrived on Christmas Eve, when all the restaurants and shops were closed, in the evening the host brought wonderful sandwiches to our room, we are very grateful to you for this! It feels like I came to visit my grandmother in the village, we will definitely come back to you again, thank you for the wonderful welcome!
Ivan was the nicest host, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic location, in the beautiful town on las arenas cabrales….but slightly away from the Main Street. There were great dining options nearby, a laundromat 100 mtrs away, fantastic access to the hiking routes, next to ample free parking. we were there during a festival and it was just the right time and right place.
This was a lovely gem of a hotel. It was very clean, the staff were really helpful and friendly also. Good breakfast selection. We wanted to go walking in the Pico's and it was a perfect location for us as we could easily get to more walks than we could physically do in the week we stayed there. We had a lovely room which was very comfortable and both slept really well.
Rustic charm, and the hostess was wonderfully helpful. Great location for exploring the Picos de Europa. Free parking. Sleep with the window open and let the babbling brook lull you to sleep. The town of Arenas de Cabrales is a sweet, quiet country town, with a very important cheese tradition. The kitchen facilities were great.
Very good accommodation with free parking on the dirt outside of the building, close to the most famous trail of Picos de Europa, well equipped kitchen, spacious apartment. The price of the accommodation was really great compare to the others by the ocean, and you can get to the beach in only 40 minutes.
Excellent location to get into picos. Very friendly and helpful staff. Incredibly clean room with a comfortable bed. Quiet. Really nice terrace. And one of the best breakfasts I had during my visit to Spain. Highly recommend the smoked salmon on toast. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is located on a quiet road next to a beautiful creek that comes out of the mountain, just stunning, the food in the restaurant is excellent, the breakfast is great, the room is great, all the equipment is new and brilliant, and the staff is very nice and helpful.
the room had a fantastic view, the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is overall quite and well located. Alberto at the reception was very helpful and welcoming giving good advices about restaurants, the entertainments of Las Arenas and the hikes in the surroundings.
Fantastic hotel in the picos with excellent staff who are so friendly and a restaurant that is excellent and value for money as the dishes produced by Sammy are 10/10 thank you I will return next year a most enjoyable stay both times
The hotel was outstanding, well located and has some of the best views of the Picos. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially the chef who made an alternative dessert for my husband.
We stayed 3 nights, room was comfortable, and the bathroom was well equipped. There were a lot of restaurants within easy walking distance. Free parking at the side of the hotel or in a lot behind.
