Wilma gave us a warm welcome and checked us in quickly to #415 facing East with views of the highway 400 and the Kempenfelt Bay off of Lake Simcoe. She started when the Super 8 Hotel opened in 2006. Two Queen beds were Medium Beautyrest quality with 3 medium pillows each. Large bathroom with plenty of hot water. A/C was on and whisper quiet, precooled our room to 70°. Pristine clean room and Hotel throughout. Pool may open in June as maintenance is being perfected.

Our stay at the Comfort Inn was simply a place to rest after a wedding . It totally blew me away though - super clean, everything looked brand new . We had a very comfortable king bed and a spacious room with multiple places to sit and rest our things. The room was beautiful with a very cool backsplash. The staff was incredibly attentive and kind. We also were so impressed with the breakfast - I expected more of bagels and cereals kind of breakfast, but instead we had excellent eggs, potatoes/sausage, great coffee and juices , yoghurt /oatmeal and saving the best for last - a waffle maker with batter available to make mini waffles - so good ! Thank you for a great stay :)))

We booked the room only because it said there was no...
We booked the room only because it said there was no cancellation fees. We got there and noticed not one car was in the parking lot. A homeless person was staking out our vehicle while we checked the room’s cleanliness. After seeing the room, we chatted with the clerk which was very rude as we asked to cancel. He said it couldn’t be cancelled and to call bookings.com. When booking with this site, it clearly said ‘can cancel anytime with no cancellation fee). The city itself was fine.
The city itself was fine. It seems to have a lot of activities. However, I did not sleep well due to the mattress and because the room was hot. So my enjoyment was diminished due to my sleeplessness. I wish I had stayed elsewhere and perhaps I would have enjoyed my stay much better.PatriciaUnited States - 10Scored 10
Beautiful city and waterfront.
Beautiful city and waterfront. A lot of street construction going on but traffic still flowed pretty well. Restaurants are fabulous with terrific food and service. We ate at the Mandarin all you can eat and Flashback was a good affordable breakfast.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Beautiful waterfront, beach, very walkable. We enjoyed the Kempenfelt festival...arts, crafts,music & food. Lakefront parking is very expensive at $10.00 per hour but there is much cheaper parking at the north end (Bayfield at Lakeshore) across the road from the lake. Barrie does not have any public transportation along the lake. There was a shuttle bus running for part of the festival but not clearly advertised or marked.

This is the first time we stayed at Travelodge.
This is the first time we stayed at Travelodge. My wife and I were very pleased with the great quality, amazing staff and prime location of this hotel in Barrie. Our air conditioner was not working well in room. However, staff moved us immediately to another room. Breakfast was simple but fresh, tasty and sufficient for our needs. I would absolutely recommend this Travelodge to everyone looking for clean, relatively inexpensive, relaxing and centrally located hotel. It is a lovely city.
It is a lovely city. Checked out the waterfront which was gorgeous and well maintained. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of this venue. If you have a car there are numerous restaurants to choose from, plus lots of places to shop for whatever you feel like shopping for. I will definitely be back to explore Barrie.
