The 5th largest city of Brazil couldn’t be less than its bigger sisters. Discovered by Spaniards, colonized by Portuguese and also briefly by the Dutch, Fortaleza is a vibrant city and capital of the Ceará State. The city’s identity is strongly marked by the writer José de Alencar, which with his novel Iracema inspired names and statues spread all over Fortaleza.
Enjoy the typical Forró music and dance, walk along Beira Mar promenade, and eat in one of the popular barracas shacks. Don’t miss the old colonial buildings, like the José de Alencar Theatre, Fortaleza's Cathedral or the Forte de Nossa Senhora da Assunção.

Amazing city but get a tour guide, our guide Milton knew all about this town. You must visit beaches with hour away, don't go over two hours drive because roads are nit very comfortable. Thai is why I do recommend a tour guide like Milton.

Nothing interesting to justify a stay. We had been robbed the mobile phone in the first 2 hours of our arrival, in a quiet and modern city mall. The beaches are nothing special, the sea difficult to enter due to the many rocks right at the bottom Just stay the minimum you need and head for better places. It's a huge city and tourism has not recovered to pre-epidemic levels. The grates, tall walls, electric fences and graffiti alert you to potential trouble. The beaches are fabulous and the night life active, but tourists should take common sense precautions. The evening artisan fair on the city beach is a must visit.

The city has lovely restaurants, And it seems like there are pockets of good spots. But overall the city is very dated. Very grimy and very polluted. As a foreigner i would not recommend there are much nicer places in Brasil. Fortaleza is over priced and underwhelming

Also possible to order omelettes, etc. The room was small, but functional with decent AC (it was pretty humid in Fortaleza, so it was useful). The location is close to the beach and some other interesting places (like Mercado Central).

As a new hotel everything looked fresh and clean. There is a super market next door and a laundry place making it really convenient. Would definitely be back.
