We drove to the city center and took pictures of the Trogan horse used in the movie of Troy. There are restaurants and pastry shops all along the waterfront. It's a great place for dinner and an evening stroll. We only walked along water front so I'm not able to comment on the rest of the city.

Really nice city, with good restaurants, a lot of shops and good people, it was also near to two turkish islands Bozcaada and Gökçeada, we got to visit Bozcaada and it was really lovely however the only possibility to get to the port is by car or bus. We loved the Naval museum, but you need around an hour-hour and a half to really visit everything.

Seaside city with wonderful views, nearby convenient public beaches, historical sites.
Wandering around in Ancient city of Troy and watching sunset over Assos hilltop on Athena Temple with Seaside view were great and not to miss.
The dardanelles strait is beautiful on both sides and recommend to cross it with ferry boat for a soothing experience.
Do not forget to try local seafood, calamari and sweets of peynir helvasi.
Just watch out that on Monday some museums are closed.

Canakkale is MUCH cooler than what we expected.
Canakkale is MUCH cooler than what we expected. I recommend at least 3 nights there. We visited Gallipoli and Troy in one day but wished we had more time to spend just hanging out in Canakkale the town. Very young, cool population due to the university. Great places to go out at night also.
The proprietor was incredibly helpful and nice. The hotel is focused on sustainability and works hard to eliminate waste and plastic which is a relief for those of us who get tired of the endless plastic bottles and extra plastic bags that populate trips to Turkey and Greece. The rooms are contemporary, small, and well-appointed. The location is a 10 minute walk from the old-town seaside, located with easy parking and views of the river, Dardanelles, and boats.
Reşat bey is a wonderful person! He takes care of the pension by himself, every morning preparing that wonderful breakfast shown in the pictures. Rooms might be small for some but are clean and have private bathrooms with all the amenities that you need...I will definitely recommend the place to all my friends and is my permanent choice in Canakkale. 1 minute from the ferry, nice fish restaurants near by. 15-20 minutes by boat to Canakkale.
Comfortable bed. Great view! This hotel is owned by a very nice local family. They have a great restaurant on site! You are not required to eat there, but they do give you a discount, and the local food is out of this world! Try the sea beans on your mettze plate if they have them! Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and we will return!
Hotel is amazing, old nostalgic hotel since 1856. Rooms and hotel was renovated but still keeps its retro style. Location is perfect. just 5 mins walk from the center. rooms are comfy and large. Very are very grateful to the staff hotel team is amazing very helpful and positive people. Definitely recommend this place in Canakkale.
Free parking the outdoors is very spacious. The staff left me the room keys which is kind of them because i arrived at midnight. The feeling that the hotel gives is very warm and cozy, makes you feel like you're in a small village in your home country. There is a nice river and beautiful nature all around.
The hotel is very close to the harbor and to all the attractions in Canakkale, the rooms are basic, with comfortable beds and AC. The parking area is behind the hotel and you have to leave the car key with a staff member, who re-arranges the cars when new guests arrive and old ones leave.
Nice weekend hotel near Canakkale. Comfortable room, really nice and rich served breakfast. Lovely garden with a la carte restaurant and a nice atmosphere in the evening. Staff eager to please even though communication in English is difficult.
Who asked me to drink Bundaberg?
I think he is the first and only Turkish to use vegimite for breakfast. Although it is very difficult to find someone who speaks English in Turkey. I think the only Turkish who knows Australian culture
The host was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the ferry port and is in a very lively area. For those interested, there is a very basic kitchen as well as a sitting area. It's basically a 1 bedroom apartment.
Thank you, guys! Your hotel is great! Exceptionally clean and well-disinfected! (Rare find in Turkey :)) Excellent breakfast and care about the guests! Convenient location. Definitely recommend.
This is an intriguing place with a great host(Gökhan Bey), comfortable rooms, easy parking in front. Super close to Canakkale and all historic places around Dardanelles. 20mins drive to beach.
The staff and the breakfast was amazing. Possibility of a hotel car to take you to the City. Very clean compared to many hotels in Turkey. Spacious rooms.
