The old town and harbour area are both beautiful and very interesting. There are lots of tiny streets with unusual different shops, museums and plenty of Minoan relics, all easy to see. Also some excellent tavernas and coffee shops.

I was in Chania for 4 days and it wasn’t enough for me.
I was in Chania for 4 days and it wasn’t enough for me. I’d recommend At least 5. The medieval town is breathtaking, you can walk through time travel on cobblestone streets that narrow and get a half liter of wine for 5 euros each and have dinner made my locals family for 5 euro. I ate a gourmet dinner on the boardwalk with a carafe of wine dinner for 2 only 65 euros and it was the most amazing food I have ate in my life. I highly recommend.

Stunning place, wonderful people and delicious food.
Stunning place, wonderful people and delicious food. Nea Chora beach is fantastic and there are many restaurants and cafés to choose from. I love to go before and after the high season. Easy to rent a car and drive around, the driving experience was fantastic, good roads and signals. People drive sensibly and there is free parking all over the island with no tolls at all.

The old town is lovely full of independent stores selling leather goods, clothes etc. Eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the port and lighthouse for fantastic views. Loved the backdrop of the snow covered mountains while basking in the 26 degrees sun despite it still being March.

We loved the Venetian port and the Old Town.
We loved the Venetian port and the Old Town. One of our favourite places was a restaurant called Paradisiaco in the upper part of the port on Theotokopoulou Street. It is a very interesting neighbourhood. A beautiful art shop with a friendly owner is in the same area. Another good restaurant is Maridaki in Maridaki Steet.

Its a quiet, mountainside/seaside town with amazing food.
Its a quiet, mountainside/seaside town with amazing food. I dont think I had one bad meal there. The beaches are amazing and the water is a crystal clear green/blue. I'm sure there are lots of activities and things to do involving hiking and snorkeling. If you're looking for lots of shopping from big retail, I dont think this is the place for you. A lot of the shops are local businesses.
Incomparable view. Incredibly comfortable, spacious and beautiful room. Breakfast was outstanding. Staff was incredibly gracious and helpful. I had to work remotely while here, and the wi-fi worked great. I have lived in Crete, I visit often, and have stayed in many hotels on the island across a wide budget range. I also visit other areas of Greece from time to time. Lagon - Life Spirit Boutique Hotel easily surpasses most of the other hotels I've stayed in as far as comfort, luxury, beauty and hospitality, and I hope to return again soon.
Cretan Berry was easily the best hotel that I’ve had the pleasure to stay at. Located right in the heart of Old Town, The surrounding areas are beautiful, safe and quiet. Our rooms were beautifully designed and very spacious, comfortable and cozy. Georgia the manager of the hotel was exceptionally welcoming and had answers to all of our questions and went above and beyond. The cleaning staff were excellent, always smiling and very friendly. Looking forward to staying with them again in the future whenever we plan to stay in Chania.
Cozy Corner was a perfect place to stay in Chania. It's only a 15 minute walk into the Old Town, but tucked away enough from the hustle and bustle. We rented a car and were a bit worried about parking, but we always managed to find a spot on the block. The aesthetic was very crisp and clean and had very modern fixtures. The balcony was also a lovely spot to have a Mythos in the evening. Very close to a 24hr mini market, other amenities, and lots of local eateries! It was a wonderful home base to explore Western Crete from.
everything about this hotel is amazing. the check is was easy and the woman was lovely. the rooms are SO much better then pictures. spacious rooms, amazing shower and cute living room. we were on the ground floor which gave us a lovely patio and we woke up one morning to the cat on our chairs which was so cute! the pool is lovely and there is plenty of room for everyone. however the best thing about this place is the people, both women were so helpful! helping us on getting around Crete nothing was too much trouble!
The hotel is small but so nice and clean. The hosts Penny and Judith are hard working, always available to help even through email or phone and super gentle. The room was beautiful, well cleaned with all facilities. Still water, Sparkling Water, coffee and tea were replaced daily with no extra charge. For the breakfast there is a very good selection. The location is a bit away from the old town but it is still can be reached easily by a 10-15min easy walk. Thanks for making our holiday in Crete one to remember!
Everything was just amazing! The hotel itself very beautiful, restaurant with excellent food (don't need to look for better place to eat)! Good pool facilities. Staff very very helpful, friendly, they make your staying in this hotel unforgettable. Andreas is wonderful host, he will give you the best advice on where to go and what to do (don't need to make plan earlier). Easy access to Chania by bus or by foot. I highly recommend this place to spend a wonderful time in Crete ! We couldn't have been more pleased.
This was my favorite hotel that we stayed at in Crete. it is a small hotel, which makes it feel even more special. There is a cafe/bar on the main floor. Our room had a balcony overlooking the bustling city and harbor with enough room to sit outside. We also had access to go up to the roof deck. The staff and owner were all lovely. The breakfast was delicious and even had some vegan! We got a discount at the bar as well and the drinks were excellent.
It was a dream! The hosts were helpful and so sweet. I was picked up from the bus station and given great advice. The boutique hotel is gorgeous! The best honestly felt like I was in a fairy tale. I would go back in a heartbeat! The location is fantastic, you’re in the heart of the old town. I will be back for sure☺️. Thank you to the hotel owners who were so sweet and attentive.
The location was perfect! It is in the middle of everything. If you are planning to stay just for few days all the places like the port, new town, old town etc are a very short walkable distance for the hotel. The rooms are big and very clean with balcons viewing the city center. The breakfast is very simple and tasty with the best fresh orange juice i have ever tasted.
We booked 5 nights at the start of our holiday in Crete. Chania is a gem and we had a great time. Small hotel in side street leading to seafront about 50 metres away. Excellent, central location in old town. Large, clean and comfortable room with kitchenette, air con and small balcony with sea view. Excellent breakfast included at taverna right next door.
Excellent hotel. Had everything I was looking for during my stay in Crete. Heated pool, next to beach, parking spot, Gym, locker for suitcases , provided a baby crib, converted couch to bed, and even loaned us a baby carriage for the whole duration of our stay. Exceptional ! Hotel is strategically situated close to main roads for traveling with car
New hotel, nice location just a few hundred metres from promenade with many restaurants and bars leading to old town. The best room is 602, having two balconies, a jacuzzi bath and great sea views. All hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is equipped to a very high standard, feels closer to 5 stars than 4.
A tastefully designed, clean and comfortable hotel
The balcony was huge and pleasant.
The location is excellent - close to everything but quiet
The staff was very nice, Lila was available for any question and even helped us plan the rest of our trip in Crete after we had already left the hotel.
She is simply amazing! Thanks!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Off! The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was the best we had at any of the hotels we stayed at in Greece. The location was very conveniently located in old town. I would definitely stay here again!
The flat is very nice, clean and comfortable. It has big balcony. The owner is really nice person. He gave us tips and recomendations. There is a private parking spot. Chania old town is 30 min walking from the flat. We are happy that we choose this apartment for our stay in Crete.
Clean and nice hotel at the end of the Old Town of Chania! A very warm welcome at the reception from Stelios!
The room was fabulous with a beautiful bathroom, huge bed, and amazing street view from the balcony!
Great value for money at its best! Thank you so much!
Excellent location, a clean and comfortable hotel. But most of all the owner,Giorgios, is a very helpful and nice person. He really tried his best to make our stay in Chania and in Crete perfect.
Very friendly hosts, wonderful breakfast, the best we ever had, and perfect location in the old town. Room 24 is the best you can get.We will be back when we return to Crete.
