If I could give this place more than ten, I would. Our stay there was wonderful and Paulina was simply the loveliest host I have ever met on my travels. Her mother also cooked us a three course meal that was delicious and enormous - and for a ridiculously low price. The Lodge has a variety of accommodations and a lovely lounge with wood fire. Outside are two llamas and two sheep! The location is on the road from the PanAmericana to the gate of the Cotopaxi National Park so is perfectly situated. Paulina is extremely knowledgable about the area and we were so grateful that she spoke English so that we could talk to her and learn from her. We had originally planned to stay somewhere else but a medical issue required a change of plans - and we are so grateful that we ended up at Rumipaxi Lodge.

Muy buena atención e instalaciones, muy recomendado.

The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, due to its extensive flight connections. It's approximately 90km from Latacunga.

The only reason to stay here was to get an early bus to the Quilotoa loop. Walked round and there were zero attractions to visit. Even the churches were shut but that may have been due to the State of Emergency. Didn't eat out because I didn't see anywhere open I fancied eating in.

Though not much to do in the city, it's nevertheless a convenient stop for accessing all the nearby volcanoes and lakes. The city has a potential, it needs a bit of tourism infrastructure to encourage longer stay rather than a quick passing through.
The place is a mansion with an inner yard. Looks like an upscale BandB. The family who owns it and takes care of it is very nice and the young son speaks English. Breakfast is served in the inner court downstairs and it reminds you more of a restaurant service than of a typical hotel breakfast. We were greatly impressed and would strongly recommend the place. Also, there is a very nice upscale and at the same time not expensive restaurant nearby that we were recommended and we really liked it.
Our best accommodation in our 3-week trip in Ecuador, by far!
As the hotel was quite empty, we were graciously upgraded to a bigger room, very comfortable.
Roof terrace with a view of Cotopaxi and Chimborazo.
And the host gave us tons of tips and information about excursions in the area, whether Quilotoa or Cotopaxi. As travel agencies in Latacunga had mostly all closed down during the pandemic, he arranged a driver to go to Cotopaxi. Extremely kind and helpful and welcoming.
Located in the very center, perfect location, with a free private car park. very convenient place in general. big room with comfy beds. we just had a problem with one of the lights in the room that could not be switched off despite our attempts. we stayed one night and needed to leave early the morning after so we could not try breakfast but if you need to spend one night in Latacunga, this is a very good option, especially for the location
You will not find a more giving and accommodating hostel owner than Marco. I took the overnight bus from Cuenca and he was there with a smile to greet me and show me right to my room and 630am. He had great advice, he insisted on driving me to the terminal, and, after storing my bag for free during the quilotoa loop, he insisted on driving me to my next destination because it was Sunday and would be complicated to get a bus. Amazing!
This is a very affordable stay that I’d recommend to anyone stopping in Latacunga before adventuring into Cotopaxi or Quilotoa. The buss stop is walkable, there are many restaurants near by, and Victor Hugo is an incredible host that generously shares information about the surrounding nature and treks. They also offer free luggage storage which is really amazing and safe.
I loved the historic charm of the building, antique decor, great architecture. The location is excellent. The shower was hot. Our room was clean. The breakfast was good and different each day. The staff was the best. Friendly and polite and gave us a good feeling about Latacunga and helped arrange an all day tour to Quilatoa. WiFi is superior.
The hotel is a modern and clean boutique place and they offer to park nearby. The city center of Latacunga. Service was impeccable and breakfast was buffet style, small but very good, and different options.
I've to say that the shower was the best shower with hot water and pressure we had and the soap is awesome too!
We had a very comfortable one night stay at the Rosim Family Hostel. It's an older establishment but our room was clean and spacious. Very quiet location. Good breakfast. Easy location that is within a 10-15 minute walk to the bus terminal. Wifi worked well. Friendly staff. Fantastic price!
There us no hostel at the location indicated by booking.com. They don't answer the phone. I had to search, find a taxi, find a hotel. There is no accomodation by this name in the whole of Latacunga. Reported the problem, still get a review request? They probably cherged ne as well???
The price is cheap for a double room with bathroom, almost half the price of anywhere else we could find to book online. The staff were helpful. It was useful being able to get breakfast at the hotel for an extra charge. You can walk to town and the main bus station from the hotel.
Excellent location and yet very quiet and very safe.
The owner and Edison were very friendly and helpful.
Great breakfast included. Very budget friendly.
Comfortable, clean bed.
The hotel is rustic, nothing fancy, but great value for the price.
Recommended for one or two nights.
Hotel Rosim looks a bit old fashioned but everything else makes up for it. The staff is incredibly helpful (owner even drove us to the bus station), the location could not be better and they have an amazing breakfast. Could not ask for more.
The highlight of Hotel Central was the staff! They were so welcoming, kind, and attentive. Everyone helped with anything we needed and they made us a great breakfast both mornings we were there. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The room was great and spacious, the bed comfy, all in all just perfect for a quiet night when passing through Latacunga. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the owner even gave me a ride to the bus in the morning.
The location was excellent. a five minute taxi ride to the central bus station. Also, we are doing the Quilotoa loop and we were able t store our bags for free until we returned back to Latacunga.
Hotel Huasicama is such a beautiful place. Very clean, nice host, and great breakfast. He let us keep our luggage there while we hiked the Quilotoa Loop.
