Troy farmers market is a one of the best we've ever seen. Right on the Hudson.
I would have expected that the roads in Albany would have been in better condition since it's the state capital.
Lots of great architecture, Tulip festival was fun.Washington park is a beauty.
Capital diner is excellent, great food and staff. Plan on taking deserts to go
Downtown there are some wonky intersections. Don't be timid when driving

Attended basketball games at MVP Arena. .9 mile walk...downhill .4 miles, mostly flat the last half-mile. Walk back wasn't fun, and the uphill part isn't the nicest neighborhood. But I welcomed the exercise part.
If eating in, stick to simple to prepare meals. No stove. Hotplate, microwave, Toaster oven, coffee maker.
Lark Street and New Holland have lots of dining options and functional YMCA.
Washington Park has walking options, and when the weather is nice, I'm sure the tulips are, too.

My advice don't use this location.
My advice don't use this location. Dirty floors none of the amenities they said we would have. The heater wea extremely loud and only blew cool air even though we had the heat on. And the phone to call the front desk did not work.

The laminate floor inside the room was peeling up, tripping hazard, the tub/shower did not work, no water. On arrival and at checkout the staff was sitting in the lobby watching television. I had to wait for them to get assistance.

The room was unwelcoming.
The room was unwelcoming. Upon walking in the room immediately smelled of stale smoke and there was a possible blood stain on the window. There was also unidentifiable stains on the bed sheets. The door was not secure enough for sleeping overnight and you can hear through the walls and ceiling. Felt too unsafe and unclean.

The central down town is deteriorating with a large and unfortunate homeless population. This being said I felt safe as I walked though out the area.
Overall the downtown is clean and the architecture outstanding. Rockefeller plaza is outstanding , safe and clean at all hours. The NY museum and Albany institute of history and art are outstanding.
Restaurants in the center city are somewhat sparse though on the south west fringe they are good
I don’t know I did not stay at four points because they overbooked, even though I confirmed twice that I had a room. I did stay at the Holiday Inn express, which was clean, nice and fine, except for the extra distance. I did like that the four points paid for the other hotel so it was at no cost to me but it makes sense that they paid for it because of the unexpected inconvenience it caused to my trip.
The location is amazing. You can feel safe walking at night, even as a single woman. The Gardens are a block away. Ample luxury shopping. The price is very reasonable considering it's in Back Bay. The service is impeccable. My son got hungry 10 min to 11 and they were able to get sliders up to us by 11, my son said they were the best sliders he ever ate. Very child friendly and dog friendly .
First, let me say that I travel about 4X a year to the Albany/Saratoga Springs/ Lake George area in the past fifteen years . I’ve stayed at many hotels and B&Bs during this time until I’ve narrowed it down to just my favorites based on a geographic area. When I’m back in the Albany area I will definitely stay at this hotel. The service, ambiance and my room was nothing short of amazing!
We took a mini staycation here on New Years Eve to swim and use the facilities. Lots of other families had the same idea so it was definitely a fun pool party. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and super clean. The best hotel breakfast I have ever experienced. Lots of options. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall a fun way to spend NYE in a great hotel.
Good location for pretty modern hotel. It was airy and bright. Kids loved the gym and pool table, they have an outdoor basketball court (ball provided) but we didn't have time to use. Breakfast was good with nice variety including cool pancake making machine which my kids loved to use. If you're en route somewhere else or visiting the massive mall next door this place is perfect.
location super, beautiful walks to work at The Empire State Plaza and to excellent suppers at Lark Street restaurants through Washington Park, awash in gorgeous tulips for the Albany tulip festival
In addition, Starbucks in ground floor of hotel and free, secure convenient parking.
We had a huge room suite, with separate bedroom and three closets, decent bathroom, and full frig.
It's extremely bad. I've never stayed in such a bad inn before. The disgusting smell of cannabis in the elevator, the moldy smell in the room, and it's breathless. The reservation included breakfast, but in reality, only coffee and some carbonated drinks were included. Apart from parking for free, everything else was really useless. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone
Comparing this one with Motel 6 Albany airport and the other one in the front (RAMADA)
I like this one more because the room was looking better and I didn’t see annoying people staying around. Everything was quiet , I did slept well.
The Front desk Guy was friendly with me.
The room was nice looking clean.
Expensive for basic hotel, advertised like a. Hilton, more like a Quality Inn.
Staff not the best, I was treated rudely, when I questioned the damage deposit.
Lack of offer for a paper receipt or quick E-mail receipt. Felt as
though I was being kept in the dark about charges.
Really nice hotel. Big, spacious rooms. Everything was super clean and comfortable. Lovely little pool area, great breakfast with multiple veggie options. Friendly and efficient check-in staff. A really nice experience, would visit again!
Came for a concert and the hotel was walking distance from the venue. the breakfast was included and had a large selection. there was also security guarded valet parking and it wasn't that expensive for one night.
Great for the price. What you would expect. Stayed here on a trip up to Vermont so did not really use it for the Albany airport, but was in a great location for the highway.
