Beautiful gardens, lovely clean pool with waterfall which sounds tranquil, great quiet location one back from the beach yet accessible via the hotel side pathway. We rented very good bikes from the hotel & cycled the beach boardwalks to nearby bars and cafes which was great. Room was spacious & clean with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool area. Great value. Staff were lovely as we find all Balinese people. Highly recommended.

I loved that I could choose if I wanted to relax in the pool or by the pool. I could walk out onto the beach and walk straight into the water. I could walk straight onto the board walk along the beach which was quiet and not crowded at all. All due to the quiet location of the Hotel which is small but comfortably adequate..

Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.

We loved how quiet it was here - shop keepers don't hassle you to look in their shops, they're happy for you to wander in if you want to. Food is affordable but not super cheap. Beach is quiet - no annoying sales people or endless jetskis or speed boats. No waves though so you can't surf.

Sanur beach isn’t that nice.
Sanur beach isn’t that nice. Brownish sand and I inviting water. Most of the restaurants along the beach feel a bit like tourist traps and there are lots of stall vendors that sell cheap souvenirs that hassle you as you walk along. Make sure you book a decent resort with a nice pool as you’ll need it to escape to for some peace. Despite it being advertised as the quiet option, I found Sanur chaotic, busy and not charming at all.

I love Sanur and will definitely return plus it's a great base to travel from. There's a 6k walkway which is full of resorts, shops and restaurants offering all types of food and drink options from local cheap eats to more expensive dining. You can hire deckchairs, bikes, get a massage, by a sarong plus it suits families and oldies without the noisy party goers. You can catch ferries from the far end, over to the islands. Also the new ICON shopping mall is opening soon, which I'm not sure is good or bad for the locals. The good thing too, walking along the walkway, is that it's mostly under the shade of beautiful trees and with the sea breeze, it's nice and cool.

Sanur was great. Relaxed, a little quieter than Legian.
Sanur was great. Relaxed, a little quieter than Legian. Lots of restaurants, good shopping and the beaches are much nicer. There is a walking track along the beach for runners, walkers and bike riders. You don't get hassled as much on this side of the island. Will definitely come back.

Its a place for retirees-its like countryside -night time my Indonesian friends really did not like -we moved to Legion after two nights -I wont go in to the specifics of what old guy at Sanur Lodge said to my Indonesian friends when we checked in -but he is lucky I did not understand -it offended them deeply . We tried to go to an Indian Restaurant down the street from Hotel -had open kitchen food looked great but a 1.5 hour wait ? at 7.30pm -they told us had 200 gofood orders to deal with first-probably true? My kind advice avoid Sanur

If you want somewhere to go to just relax this is the place.
If you want somewhere to go to just relax this is the place. Sanur is a quiet chilled area but you can still easily organise tours from there. There are plenty of places to eat or sit to have a drink or a coffee, and you can go into Kuta, Canggu or Legian for some nightlife clubbing.
Small, perfect hotel with rooms set around the pool. Room decor all good quality with a lot of attention to detail. Lots of power sockets. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast very very good at the Cafe. We chose upstairs to eat as more relaxing. Pool water temp perfect. Staff exceptional! Friendly and attentive. After rain the balconies were swept out & dried. Great position Central Sanur. Beach access across road down lane. Perfect for happy hour at the MayaTree Bar. Supermarket and restaurants all close. Would recommend. Very good value.
We have been guests here 4 times with the hotel previously being run as The Fairmont.
The staff here (and in Sanur) are just so lovely and caring. We always leave feeling so happy and our only disappointment is we always wish we had spent more time here and less in the pretentios areas like Seminyak and Nusa Dua..
The Balinese are so relieved to have visitors returning so don't delay and book your trip to the Intercontinental Sanur now!
Traditional Balinese old style hotel, with both street and beach access, in the middle of North & South Sanur, fabulous location. Plenty of choices for restaurants within a few minutes walk. Beautiful open large manicured gardens, which allows the sea breeze to circulate. Large clean pool with heaps of shady areas. Long time staff who look after their guests needs, nothing is too much trouble. Great value.
Central location, can ride bicycle everywhere, 5 mins to the beautiful boardwalk along the beach. There is no breakfast or food available but there is the best restaurant In Sanur opposite the hotel. The staff looked after me so well during my 6 night stay, felt safe and very comfortable. The rooms with the pool are the best I was lucky enough to be in one.
Small boutique hotel located in central Sanur short walk to a huge selection of resturants, shops and the beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place to relax and laze around the pool, don't expect the facilities offered by the large hotels this is a very small boutique hotel which suited us. Really enjoyed our stay fantastic small hotel.
Great location... right on the beach to watch the beautiful skies over Sanur. Clean facilities, excellent service, definitely a slice of paradise. The best place to be in Bali! We love the traditional but modern feel of this hotel. The staff were outstanding, I needed a doctor and he was at my room within 45 minutes. Outstanding service and care.
Staff were friendly and attentive and made our first 2 nights in Bali comfortable.
Grounds of the hotel were in keeping with the setting of Bali.
Pool facilities were very good.
Very reasonably priced.
Ideal stop off for Sanur ferries.
Quiet and away from busier parts but only a short walk to the beach and a nice beachside stroll to restaurants.
Nerw and modern hotel without the usual beauty of bali's more traditional homestays but well situated, 5 to 10 minutes from the beach, from restaurants, bars, warungs, shops. Very clean, comfy, friendly. A very central location to stay in Sanur for a few days. It even offers a swimming-pool, rare to find at such a price. I recommend
The host is super-friendly and welcome. Rooms are stylish, clean and well-maintained. It's possible to rent a scooter at the hotel. It takes 3 minutes to get to surfing spots from here, and 5-10 to good eating places in Sanur. Also, the breakfast in the hotel is very good.
It was right on the beach, beautiful tropical surroundings, peaceful but near to restaurants, services and shopping. The hotel restaurant had good food, both Indonesian and western. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Loved the pools and their setting.
The design boutique hotel is located in the centre of Sanur, close to the beach and port. The room had a Balinese design and is very artistic, with a lot of facilities. The bed was comfortable and the whole atmosphere is intimate. Great pool as well.
We only stayed there for 1 night so can't give an elaborate review. But that 1 night was wonderful! The hotel seemed very nice and should we ever stay in Sanur again we would definitely consider staying here!
Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. Room was very spacious and bed very comfortable. Hotel located a short walk to the beach/restaurants/cafes on the beach. Also a short walk to main shopping strip.
I love the traditional Balinese Hotel buildings, beautiful gardens, quiet serene & right on the beach. Oh the staff from reception, Restuarant &, cleaners & grounds men all so friendly and happy to oblige.
The location of the hotel was perfect
Good value for money
I will definitely recommend to my family and friends
First time in Sanur we enjoyed our stay
Not very busy great for a relaxing holiday
the beautiful hotel and our magnficent garden villa with private pool. personnel more than friendly and helpful. restaurants and bars on walking distance from hotel
Ideal location. The pool and breakfast area are the best in Sanur, they overlook the beach. It’s our go to hotel in Bali, always has been and always will be.
