Brú na Dromoda/Dromid Hostel, hotel in Killeenleagh Bridge

Located in the heart of the Iveragh Peninsular, the community-run Brú na Dromoda/Dromid Hostel offers free WiFi and free onsite parking. Guests have complimentary use of the onsite sports hall.

I recently stayed at for three days while exploring the beautiful region of Kerry. Here are my thoughts on my experience: Location: The hostel is located in a very remote area, which can be quite challenging if you don't have your own car. Public transport options are extremely unreliable, so I would strongly recommend having a car to get around. If you're relying on buses, you might find yourself stuck. Ambience: The ambience of the hostel is simply fantastic. It has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel good. The common areas are comfortable, providing a great space to relax and meet other travelers. The serene surroundings add to the charm, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Staff: The caretaker/manager is a wonderful lady who goes out of her way to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay. Her warm hospitality and helpful nature made my stay even more enjoyable. She was always available to answer questions and provide recommendations, making the experience even more memorable. Overall Experience: Despite the challenges with transportation, my overall experience was very positive. If you're planning to visit Kerry and have your own transportation, I would highly recommend staying at this hostel.

Quinlan & Cooke Boutique Townhouse and QCs Seafood Restaurant, hotel in Killeenleagh Bridge

Quinlan & Cooke Boutique Townhouse, formerly QC's, is family-run and situated in Cahersiveen on The Wild Atlantic Way.

We arrived at a very disorganized and dysfunctional establishment that was quite difficult to find, even with the mixed-up directions provided. When I tried to clarify some issues with the host, she responded with, "I shouldn’t even be here, it’s my day off." This didn't address any of our concerns. I tried to change to a different room due to the confusing layout and the number of stairs, but was told they were fully booked but after pushing it, i was given a different room. Then for curiosity I checked their website and was able to book three rooms for the same night, so clearly the “we are fully booked” was debatable. The hotel supposedly offers free parking, but we were told it’s on a first-come, first-served basis. Considering the number of rooms, many guests would likely have to struggle for street parking. The bed was okay, but the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. There is a fridge, but it was warmer inside the fridge than the room. There are 12 downlights in the room, with two switches on the wall, one of which does nothing, while the other turns all 12 lights on or off at once so its all or nothing! Additionally, there are no bedside lamps, just a tiny reading lamp with very low wattage. There isn’t even a towel rail in the bathroom. The rooms are noise transparent, noise travels heavily throughout the building so you can hear whats going on in the room above you and hallway noise is very bad. Also for a room for two people, there was only one arm chair and when asked if it was possible to get another one, we were told yes, but we never saw it which is consistent with the disorganization. The rate is advertised as including breakfast but what is provided is a joke. A couple of pastries i. a paper bag, hung on the door overnight lol.

Butler Arms Hotel, hotel in Killeenleagh Bridge

The Butler Arms is directly opposite the beach in Ballinskelligs Bay, Waterville. The hotel has views of the Atlantic Ocean and offers spacious rooms, a seafood restaurant and free parking.

We enjoyed this hotel mainly because of its location in the Kerry, just minutes away from Portmagee. This allowed us to visit Skellig Michael island after standing by for 3 days for suitable landing conditions. The location is also very good for the Skellig Ring we drove a couple of times. About the hotel, very nice room with beautiful sea view, private parking and very good restaurant. Hotel staff was fantastic and very helpful.
