No breakfast provided. This is a downside considering the excellent food in the evening. There seems no reason why they couldn’t do breakfast.
Ideally positioned in the Bay of Plenty,Trinity Wharf Tauranga hotel features sweeping panoramic views of the Tauranga Harbour and is just minutes from the Tauranga CBD.

We had room 109, it was fab, only thing I could not understand is why that room did not have a balcony. The sunrise was amazing. Also the double spa bath.

Good roads, easy to get around (no problems using gps maps) Saturday markets, fresh seafood, close to shopping centre. Our function was catered and the food was amazing. Short walk for evening swim at the beach.
Close to other townships eg: Katikati.

The CBD seems alright, can be explored on foot. The highlight of our trip was Mt Maunganui. The Mount Hotpools was wonderful (pricey though), beautiful tiles, water and view. And the stretch of the Maunganui beach was just beautiful. We picked one far away from the centre (and towards Papamoa) where there was lifeguard, and truly enjoyed the waves for hours. It a great place for families who love spending time in the open water.

It is a travel destination that I definitely want to visit at least once a year.
I would like to recommend that you climb Mount Manganui and take a hot spring bath in the salt springs.
I can't forget the size and taste of Copenhagen ice cream across from the salt springs.
Playing in the water or walking on the beach are healing points that cannot be missed.
Cost-effectiveness of accommodation is one of the most disappointing aspects of most travel destinations.

Beautiful looking place, great climate, but a lot of blatant racism. Lots of indigenous artwork around city was vandalised. A lot of scowls from people when speaking re reo Māori (even with basic greetings).

There are plenty of bars and places to eat, the city is pleasant enough although access to the harbour is limited and the whole place is overshadowed by its proximity to Mt Maunganui and its fabulous beaches.
David and Tatiana are wonderful hosts. They were welcoming, organized and helpful. Our room was so comfortable and clean. We enjoyed being able to use the guest lounge area as well. Breakfasts were fabulous with plenty of choices - a great way to start the day. We found the location great for doing day trips (by car) to Maunganui, up towards Coromandel and down to Rotorua. Also enjoyed being able to walk to a local restaurant. Thank you David and Tatiana for making Tauranga a memorable experience!
The homely feel was amazing with all the little homemade goodies for breakfast (fresh baked bread, homemade yoghurt and jam)! The cleanliness was superb which meant we didn’t even mind walking a couple of metres to the bathroom!
The location was perfect, we could get to Tauranga, Omokoroa and The Mount with ease and still come back to a nice peaceful place to rest!
The best part was the friendliness of the hosts Monica and Rolf, thank you!
The night trains are actually quite loud and disruptive. I appreciate these are on your comments, so accept noise. But the sound limiting windows make no difference to be fair. Next trip, I would opt for else where unless you are cheaper. At 280 with parking, but distributed sleep, i could have stayed at trinity wharf or mount or a few airbnbs.
after hours access was well signposted and simple to use. all the facilities were very clean. staff were friendly and did their best to make sure we had no issues or problems. cleaning staff were friendly. allowed us to park our vehicles at the hotel before our book in time. 10/10 would consider again if i go back to tauranga.
Excellent location, great quality hotel. But the absolute best part of our stay was the staff. They were so accommodating with our special requests. They were very sympathetic to our personal situation and so helpful in finding a solution for us. I just hope there is space for us next time we come to Tauranga.
The hotel was perfect and just what we were hoping, Amazing historic building and a tidy modern and clean room. All staff were excellent. The NZ cuisine restaurant was the best, possibly the best in Tauranga, breakfast was equally amazing.
Can't fault the Clarence, we are looking forward to our next stay.
Literally across road from Tauranga Hospital. Really good breaky/lunch cafe next door. Great chinese restaurant about 200m at most up road. Also lots of other eating choices and supermarket, petrol station, etc, just up the road. For visiting someone in Tauranga Hospital it is perfect.
Great location, right in town and all day parking very close (free parking overnight). I liked the lack of plastic - no plastic bottles of cheap shampoo/conditioner, shower caps or tiny slithers of soap.
One block away from Tauranga's shopping and restaurant area with onsite parking. The owners were a very friendly couple, and upgraded us to a larger and more spacious room.
Te Harinui was a lovely stay! We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. The view, service and accommodation were well worth the money and 20 minute journey into Tauranga.
Well rooms were a nice size and would stay there again if we ever came to Tauranga again and the people at service were nice and the bath shower the pressure was awesome
The property is centrally located. Overlooking the waters in Tauranga. Nice restaurants nearby. I love the products for guests in the bathroom. Friendly staffs.
Room is comfortable and cozy furnished, clean and quiet, convenient location to restaurants and harbour, a decent place to stay in the city centre of Tauranga
