The location is excellent and, even if it wasn't, you would still want to stay here and enjoy what this boutique hotel has to offer.

I was contacted by Simon from the hotel requesting g my approx arrival time and to arrange for a key to be left. I advised him I would be there approx 8 pm. I was running late but he waited for me. Next morning checkout was seamless

If you want a better choice of restaurants and shops close by I would recommend Mount Maunganui just the other side of the water a lot more going on here in the evenings and more choice of good restaurants

Good roads, easy to get around (no problems using gps maps) Saturday markets, fresh seafood, close to shopping centre. Our function was catered and the food was amazing. Short walk for evening swim at the beach. Close to other townships eg: Katikati.

The CBD seems alright, can be explored on foot. The highlight of our trip was Mt Maunganui. The Mount Hotpools was wonderful (pricey though), beautiful tiles, water and view. And the stretch of the Maunganui beach was just beautiful. We picked one far away from the centre (and towards Papamoa) where there was lifeguard, and truly enjoyed the waves for hours. It a great place for families who love spending time in the open water.

It is a travel destination that I definitely want to visit at least once a year. I would like to recommend that you climb Mount Manganui and take a hot spring bath in the salt springs. I can't forget the size and taste of Copenhagen ice cream across from the salt springs. Playing in the water or walking on the beach are healing points that cannot be missed.
