One of the best winter resorts in Romania. One can see that the investments into the place are keeping up, relative to other places in Romania. Great sceneries!! Also great restaurants and dinning possibilities, many times with live folk music.
For skiing in particular, there is a relatively new lift and current slopes are great, but there should be more lifts and skiing options. There should be one sledging option from the top of the slope as well, for families with children!! (the sledging facility within the city is a bit of a joke and quite dangerous as it gets pretty crowdy).
Overall, quite a great place to spend some vacation time!

Very nice place to visit for skiing.
Very nice place to visit for skiing. We were visited Poiana Brasov from 08-12 of February 2024,luckily on the track there were machines that made artificial snow, otherwise there would be no snow for skiing. Perfect place to practise as beginner or intermediate. There is a variety on ski lift prices and lifts to choose which can get you around 600m height and blue-red lines roads are around 4km with hotel/bars on your road to rest. The only bad of our trip was the Romanian people which are not very helpful and a little bit aggressive.

I was in Poiana Brasov for the first time.
I was in Poiana Brasov for the first time. I'm not skiing, so winter time is not that appealing to me. But I might just changed my mind. And here's why.
We took a lot of walks in the nature - and I must say the landscape is spectacular there. The forests, the meadows, the crests. We stayed in a very nice location, with a spa, so we could relax in an outdoor heated pool. Also, we found around a lot of great restaurants and the food was delicious. One after-noon we went in Brasov and explored the city. A lovely Transylvanian city!
I have to say that we were there before Christmas time, so it wasn't so crowded. But all in all, I'd say we had a 10/10 experience for a prolonged weekend in Poiana.

There is a great place with a nice view, quite silent and with really fresh air.
Everything is overpriced so expect to spend more money than planned. Parking fee starts from 3 lei up to 20 lei / hour. Bring cash with you to pay the public parking fee. The devices did not return the exchange so, pay attention to have small banknotes (1, 5, 10 lei).
There are several good restaurants around, quite expensive but good ( I liked the Escalade restaurant from the hotel with same name) , I would avoid Sura Dacilor due to their "communist" behavior (by asking one waiter to suggest something good he replied: " I am selling food, not eating it!").
A must: a trip to Postavaru mountain by gondola lift.

Nice surroundings, quite bad administration of the resort.
Nice surroundings, quite bad administration of the resort.
If it snows, expect only for the streets to be cleaned up. Sidewalks... don't seem to matter to the mayor and the city manager.
Lots of old and ugly buildings and prices for services are quite high.
Loved everything about it; but most of all the lovely staff, particularly Tudor and Cătălin. They couldn't have been more helpful and hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble and they will go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. They even offered to drive us to the slopes everyday and pick us up, to save on parking fees! I would recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone; it made beautiful Romania even more enjoyable, and we will definitely be back.
we come here every year for the last 6 or 7 years. It's the only hotel we like in Poiana Brasov, we have tested a few, but here we always feel like home. It dosen't have that cold hotel feeling. It's like a small villa. The most clean hotel I ever gone to. They clean every day. A wonderfull breakfast with an excelent waiter. We just returned from them and I already make plans for my next trip to stay there. I highly recomand.
When we arrived, the lady at the reception told us, that we have an upgrade, and our room will be in the Aurelius Hotel.
We loved our room and the facilities of the hotel. Everything was clean and tidy. When we let the housekeeping ladies to tidy up the room, they did very well. The room service was excellent too. The spa was great. After a long trip day outside, we enjoyed the swimming pools and the sauna at the evening.
The property is extremely comfortable, clean and at an amazing location right with magnificent views of mountains.
They host was very kind, respectful and friendly and personally met us to show us around the flat.
The place is so beautifully decorated that I couldn't stop taking photos of the flat and views around.
It is very conveniently located at Poiana Brasov where we had our short family vacation!
The complex is nice, with a great pool and wondeful massages. The staff af the spa is polite and helpful. It has a good value for money, i would come back here.
We loved the fact that we had indoor garrage, as it was snowing. Also, they let us come with both our dogs, this is rare in Romania.
The apartmant itself was simple, the bed was really confy.
There are 2 hotels at the location. I believe Bradul to be the best choice as it really manage to give you the mountain "challet" vibe. The staff is extreamly discreet yet eager to help you. The one thing missing is a storage system for your skis, but you can bring the gear in the room so this is not a huge issue.
The rooms were spacious and the balcony was really nice. The hotel is clean. Very good breakfast. The spa complex is good. The shuttle service to and from the ski resort must be specified. The driver is charming and you usually don't wait more than 5 minutes for pickup. Three minutes drive to the ski lift.
The hotel between the carpathian mountain located in a beautiful green calm area the staff been great since the beginning you having a free parking our room been amazing big with a balcony and frontal view to thw mountain they having outdoor room with the view to the nature everything been amazing
I was very pleased to see the difference in cleanliness and services from our last stay at this hotel. (and looked like they treated their fellows expats with some more respect than our last stay)
it took us a while to come back after our last experience but I am happy we gave it another try!
This stay was absolutely amazing!!! I really recommend it to anybody that will stay in Poiana Brasov. The apartament had everything you needed, it’s really cozy, and the location is central. I highly recommend and would stay here again. Thank you so much for the stay ❤️
Everything is awesome.
They upgraded us the room with a junior suite.
The breakfast was very good.
The pool and the jacuzzi are perfect, not crowded, even if the hotel was almost full.
Best stay in Poiana Brasov.
Everyone was very polite.
Wonderful propert on a quiet area in Poiana Brasov, by the woods (wonderful for walks). Owners and staff are fantastic, and the rooms are large, comfortable, with a lot of attention to the guest’s comfort. Higly recommended
We stayed only for one night during traveling through Romania. Later check-in was possible without any issues. Great breakfast. There is also free parking in front of the hotel.
