Magnificent location right on the beach - snorkeling and swimming at your doorstep. Easy to get to with fast boat from Bali's Serangan harbour. Maree owns and manages this small resort and she and her staff are wonderful. Food is excellent. We and guests from nearby accommodations had all our meals at Alam Karang. For divers there is a dive shop next door. We were snorkeling and Maree arranged a not to be missed boat trip to three nearby islands. Alam Karang is just perfect!

Boasting a private beach area and views of sea, The High Dive Gili Gede by Ultimate Resorts is a recently renovated villa situated in Gili Gede, a few steps from Gili Gede Beach.

The little beach villas we stayed in were so cute, comfortable and clean. The staff were absolutely amazing and made you feel taken care of and welcome. Nigel did a great job of cleaning up any plastic he found in the ocean being swept in from Bali, he was enthusiastic and so funny and kind to talk to. We absolutely loved our stay, we will be back!

The couple that looked after us are really friendly and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and welcoming. They have a nice menu for food and give you all the information you need to know about the island and how to get around. They organised a late taxi and boat for me on short notice with no problem, I was 2 hours away and they helped me big. If I ever needed something I could just message them and they were there helping. Much appreciated and would definitely recommend coming here. Rooms are the perfect size if you like minimal living, they are made from timber and I absolutely loved the look of the rooms. Thank you for the stay Yellow Coco!! That place is burned into my memories now

    Not the best island I have been too.

    Not the best island I have been too. Was quite hot with no air conditioning or tv. But was good to do without. Internet only available around the resteraunt. Because there was not much to do most people spent thier time on the internet. The italian resteraunt in the other hotel was crap. The biggest deterrent to most travellers was the amount of plastic floating around in the beaches. Not the fault of the hotel.

    This sea water is quite clear with very little plastic. The water is heavenly, with quiet seas because of it’s location. The hotel we stayed at was on the Lombok side of the island, so the seas were calm, and often still like a lake. This area feels quite remote, and you won’t see many if any tourists when you are boating around. So there is a sense of seclusion and being in a remote location. This would be a nice area to take a sailboat if you can find one to rent. They will be increasing the number of fast boats scheduled to go to this area soon, so that it’s faster to go direct to Gili Gede from Bali every day, instead of the twice weekly (Monday and Friday) schedule available now. We had to take a fast boat to Bengsal and drive 2 1/2 hours because we booked our hotel on a Saturday instead of Friday, not knowing that we couldn’t just get a fast boat direct to Gili Gede any day but Monday and Friday. There are only 4 places to stay on the island at this time, and we stayed at Amahelia, which is by far the nicest. Someone from Belgium is building a really nice resort on this island that will have 20 villas with private pools, we heard. It is still under construction. Gili Asahan is definitely worth adding to your list of places to go for a quiet, remote and peaceful trip, with wonderful seas to swim and boat in.

    This is a great place to relax and get away from it all.

    This is a great place to relax and get away from it all. Even during dry season, this place is still beautiful! The snorkeling right off the beach is amazing. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. There's several comfortable seating options by the beach. The restaurant offered varied options and every meal I had was great.
