There is not much to do in Kinross.
There is not much to do in Kinross. We went to the lake and wanted to visit the castle but it was closed due to a private event.
Some shops are closed or are closing in the town.
The small jetty looks abandoned and run down. It might have been nice to walk or cycle around the loch. However, for us 1 day was sufficient time.
We really liked the small cafe Reminisce. Lovely team.

It's a small town but it has everything.
It's a small town but it has everything. Loch Leven is a gem and the surrounding countryside very beautiful. The drives to Perth and Scone Palace as well as to Stirling are gorgeous. It's within half and hour of Edinborough and 45 minutes of Glasgow.
We ate at our hotel, the Kirklands which has a great restaurant so can't say anything about the other places.

The hotel owner told me it would be too late to come, so she said she will cancel my booking.
But when I go on the website, I was not allowed to cancel or get any refund!!!
Horrible and unfair!
I would want other people to see this and never book with this hotel!
The Kirkland hotel is a family run business and the owners are lovely. The apartment we stayed in was lovely, clean and spacious, and such a surprise as I thought we booked a room. The beds were comfy, we slept well in them. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast every morning, it was delicious I definitely recommend the toasted banana bread. The hotel is in walking distance to Loch Leven I highly recommend going there too.
Location is great for working/visiting Knockhill race track. Breakfast at the hotel was amazing. We arrived late after the restaraunt had stopped serving so we went to the local chippy and the staff at the hotel were fantastic, giving us some plates and a table in the now empty restaraunt for us to eat our food. Also in the room the TV was Freesat, nice to watch a decent sized screen in HD after a long day of work.
The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The pub/restaurant has recently been refurbished and expanded. I saw several families eating there - it is very kid-friendly. The beer list contains a nice selection of both local and national ales. The mussels with cream and pine nuts were fantastic. The breakfast includes haggis, black pudding and potato scones for anyone wishing to try Scottish favourites.
Wow...luxury 5 star apartment in the heart of tranquil Kinross. Exquisite furnishings and highest quality finishings throughout the property. Bedrooms in particular were quite stunning worthy of any top end boutique hotel.
The welcome pack and communication also first class. We will definitely return to the wonderful Kinross Reaidence in the future.
Staff are the highlight of this hotel closely followed by the food and atmosphere, The decoration in the main areas was very well done and was very contemporary. The food was delicous and served piping hot and by delightful staff who couldn't do enough for you.
Hotel was excellent, great big room and beautiful view. Very comfy bed and staff very cheery and helpful. My big hound Odin was very content and plenty space to let him have a play outside the hotel. I'll definitely be back. Thank you.
Room to move! Far better equipped and spacious than B&Bs. Bright and comfortable. An ideal base from which to explore the area, including cycling and walking. Responsive hosts.
Beautiful location overlooking the Loch. Plenty of trails close by for hiking and running. The cabin was spacious, clean and well stocked! We highly recommend it for families!
Nice scent on entry. Clean. Bed comfortable. Great smart TV with loads of streaming channels. Like staying in a lovely hotel but more spacious, privacy and good facilities.
The room was clean and tidy spaciouse, plenty of towels Staff where very helpful showing me to my room . check in and out is so effertless with everything well explained.
Great food in the newly expanded restaurant. Good location for travel within Kinross and Perthshire. Friendly hosts who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
Set up was great, microwave and facilities were an added bonus. Situated in an ideal area with easy access to tourist and everyday facilities, excellent 👍
