I was there for work! I would highly recommend the Indian restaurant there! Mughal garden restaurant. I’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants in Vancouver and this is right up there for quality. Don’t let the decor fool you it’s fantastic food, for so cheap!! $10.99 for dinner. I had the goat curry with naan. I will be going back every time I’m in merrit!

The murals were fun to walk around to look at.
The murals were fun to walk around to look at. We enjoyed the museum. Every person in service work was friendly and chatty in a really nice way. There is a good choice of places to eat, to stay, and places to walk around, looking at murals and historical homes that are easily seen on foot.
We had a good breakfast at the Coldwater Hotel, a beautiful old building, and were completely surprised to be served our food by a robot! The server, lovely woman, informed us that the restaurant tried to find staff, but no one applied and the robot enables her to not be run off her feet.

We heard that it is not a good time to visit Merritt this summer. This is apparently because of floods evacuees from the neighboring areas are occupying most hotel rooms. This is probably the reason for high price for a hotel room we had to pay during our stay.
Merritt is also not ready to handle diners at the restaurants and fast food this summer- We had to face much longer lines than in other towns on our road trip from Calgary to Vancouver.

At the first glance, Merritt doesn't look like much, but when you start discovering it, it is really nice. We visited lake Nicola and Lake St. Jeune, both very beautiful. The great thing was that there were not too many people and driving there was relaxing and the views of the mountains, amazing!

Good and affordable place to stop if you’re crossing the province. It has some nice parks and cafes too! We visited Luis memorial park and Nicola park. There’s a place called Kekuli cafe and bannock, it’s a must go if you are in town for breakfast or lunch!

Merritt is a beautiful dessert town in the mountains.
Merritt is a beautiful dessert town in the mountains. Glad we were forced to spend the night here as it had loads of character, and the stay over added some spice to our journey home.
We ventured to the local A & W for breakfast and were charmed by some the locals as they shared their morning coffee with friends.
First of all, add showed 109$,but they charged me for 129$. Second, the owner deny I made full information on line ,expect to fill up again . then ask me to pay on my card.I told him ,I gave my card info and I don't use it again. He said can not understand English. But want to get pay.after run on my card showed me 145$ paid bill.
I agreed for 109$ when I gave my info but got charge for higher price. It was not worth. I could stay in other place (hotel) ,not old motel. Not happy.
we were on ground level so easy to come out and the room was neat, bright and nice bed was super comfy which my husband liked the most 😊 that was the best thing to me because usually my husband complained all the time about beds of all the hotels wherever we go for trip, beds are better than a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hotel, everything was included in my 1 day or 2 nights package like sauna bath, breakfast and pool was also nearby my room 😊 pool area is nice and quiet 🤫
We stayed at this hotel as an emergency based stay. We were stranded as the hwys all closed due to mudslides etc. We had 2 of our children with us, so they loved every aspect of the hotel. We had a king size room that nicely accommodated all 4 of us. The kids favorite part was the pool and fair sized hot tub. The staff were super friendly and patient even as we checked out and their town (Merritt) was under evacuation order due to major flooding.
Because I was just travelling through, I liked that the hotel was a short deviation from the highway and easy to find. Parking was a breeze, and the ramp up the short rise to the door handled my bags. The staff of the newly-reopened building were welcoming, and most concerned to make sure that everything was as it should be.
Considering the price of every other similar accommodation I looked at, this was good value for money.
Hwy 5 closed due to an accident. All rooms were sold out here and in Merritt. The night staff fixed a room with a partially working toilet flapper while we got something to eat to make one more room available. The night staff was better than the day staff. Special thanks to the manager Ting Yi who went way above and beyond.
Because of Covid there was no breakfast as would normally be provided however the bagged breakfast that was available was very well done. The location of the hotel is very well placed being only a short distance from Highway 1 and the Coquihalla Highway.
The staff, Michael was very friendly and kind. The room though older style was fantastic. The bed was good also. We enjoyed out one night stay and would a future preference for our net stay. Nice hotel.
Desk staff very nice and professional. Room was very nice and comfortable (and cool with the hot weather outside). Will definitely stay there again when coming to visit family in Merritt.
Well lit parking lot, everting we needed was in the room. Expectations for a motel were met. I have stayed in 4 different motels in Merritt. I would book this one again.
Good location, easy to find as its right off the main road leading into Merritt. All suites are on the main floor which makes unpacking the car and relax king easier.
The rooms were nice. Amenities were good. Kids liked the pool and slide. Breakfast was ok. Weight room was very nice. A bit more than I usually pay for a hotel.
The motel was perfectly situated for the conference I was attending in Merritt. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and quickly settled any problems.
The location was good, security around the property was good as well. You get what you pay for with this hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly.
