This is a fantastic place, the views and sunsets are amazing. The room and facilities are impeccable, highest standard and sparkly clean. The staff is super nice and extremely helpful. They helped us organizing a guide to the Cloud forest (who was fantastic too) and gave us a lot of other helpful information and pointers. The location is slightly outside the center of Santa Elena on a ridge overviewing the rolling hills and the Nicoya peninsula. The sun sets right in front of the rooms which have fantastic windows and terraces to enjoy the view from. The bed was huge and super comfortable. The food in the restaurant is great too.

Room was big and very clean with a direct view on some big trees that gave a forest vibe during the night :) room has canvas representing the wildlife, super nice! Food was good, we didn’t manage to have breakfast because of an early tour at the national park, but they saved some boxes for us when we came back. We tried their restaurant and was good! At the reception we were able to organize cool tours :) Most of the things are payable with card

Best view of the Arenal Volcano. We stayed 3 nights, but 2 would be enough. We visited ecological reserve and Selvatura Park. The host served delicious breakfasts. We also ate dinners at the lodge. It was a very tasty local food with great presentation. The host, Eulogio, recommended a hike to the falls on the property, and we followed his advice. It took us about 1 hour to complete the hike and see the falls.

Love the property!! The room itself was great. Luís was especially lovely and accommodating on reception! Reception were kind enough to take our bags to our room whilst we were out in Monteverde Centre (as we arrived before check in time). Lovely little hanging bridge on our way to our room which we enjoyed daily! The breakfast was also delicious & had a gorgeous view!

    Such a beautiful culture and land. The cloud forest is magical and the guides are passionate about sharing what makes it unique and about preserving it. The falls at El Tigre are an absolute must, and Los Pinos Cabins offer one of the most memorable and relaxing accommodations I've experienced in recent years.

    Mo reverse was a beautiful place to visit, nice restaurants/bars/shops, it is very hilly (bring it’s up a mountain). Lots to do whilst there. We used Treetop’s a to go zip lining and high bridges walk, they were very professional and made sure your safety was top priority.

    Monteverde is a must for any trip to Costa Rica, loved the vibe in town, chilled, arty, massive choice of restaurants, galleries and shops. Tons of activities. We did Monteverde Cloud Forest with a guide, and Treetopia zip lines. So much more to see, wish we could have stayed longer.

    If you are a birder, this is paradise.

    If you are a birder, this is paradise. In just a few days we identified nearly 200 species of birds. There are lots of reserves, parks, etc. in Monteverde to explore and it would be easy to spend a couple of weeks trying to see them all. Try to find a good guide, they are invaluable.

    Monteverde was one of the highlight of our Costa Rica tour.

    Monteverde was one of the highlight of our Costa Rica tour. The forests are beautiful (though we saw more wildlife during the day in Manual Antonio and Cahuita). Do not miss the night tour with a knowledgeable local guide, you can spot a lot of animals and he also explains a lot about animals that you can see on your own during the day. Millions of potentials for different activities (we tried Selvatura package, excellent, can only recommend), coffee plant tour, hanging bridges, hiking, etc. I wish we could have had more time here ! I would return anytime (to hike El Tigre which we did not have time now, do a canopy tour again and hanging bridges). Food was also great (Sabor Tico, at the football field and Choco Café Restaurante y Cafetería).

    Monteverde is wonderful for nature lovers.

    Monteverde is wonderful for nature lovers. We really enjoyed the Cloud Forest Biological Preserve. Even on a very windy day we saw quite a bit of wildlife and had a lovely walk. However, I recommend either reserving tickets online in advance or be prepared to wait over an hour for openings (they only allow 250 people at a time) on busy weekends. There are quite a lot of good places to eat. Go with one of the bigger companies on a night tour and book well in advance. We went through some area near a coffee farm and it was underwhelming.

    the location is gorgeous, secluded in the cloud forest with a beautiful trail next to it. on a clear day, you will be able to see the Pacific Ocean in the distance. the hotel is very trendy and modern. the view from the room was mind blowing. most importantly, the service was amazing and personalized. the staff was extremely attentive to small details, addressed every family member by their names and made the stay memorable. we travel frequently but haven’t received such service in the vast majority of hotels. highly recommend this place

    We really loved our stay here. The room is very comfortable, modern and clean, everything you need. Silent at night, we slept very well. Cosy garden. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Very good information about everything you can do in Monteverde. They help to organize your trip and transport so easily, they arrange a bus pick up and drop off in front of the hotel. Delicious breakfast menu (options include gallo pinto, pancakes, eggs, homemade bread, tortilla, …)

    Felt like we were in a secluded villa overlooking the cloud forest above the city. No other buildings in front of us. Good breakfast. Amazingly good-sized room for our family of four with kitchen facilities and bench on deck to take it all in at sunrise, sunset, and during rainstorms. We were honestly nervous about this hotel because it was a value compared to others. Boutique feel, great staff, and a pleasant surprise!

    Everything!! Very clean spacious room with modern bathroom and an amazing view on the garden, nice heated pool - the kids had a lot of fun, immersed in the forest with animals all around, doesn’t feel crowded at all, close to Sant’Elena and the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The hotel has also a decent restaurant. Overall the staff is absolutely fantastic and has helped us organising our tours. Highly recommended

    The grounds are secluded and beautiful. Hiking trail on premises. Breakfast included was delicious and made to order. Tea and Coffee out at most times. Room is large clean and stylish with a balcony overlooking lake. Large clean bathroom.     Beautiful, clean and spacious upstairs apartment with a fantastic view. It was so wonderful eating breakfast on the deck. Ernesto was very friendly, helpful and quick in responding to all our questions. He set us up with an excellent tour guide for Monte Verde. We wished we could have stayed longer. A definite 10 in our book (and I've never given a 10 to any lodging before).

    Great family run B&B. Jeremy the host is lovely and has a lot of information available for you about Monteverde and Santa Elena areas. Very central in Santa Elena with parking and easy access to all the main zip lines or cloud forest. Rooms basic, but for the price are food value and especially with the breakfast included in the price.

    Absolutely unique, lovely house set in a quiet, private location surrounded by trees. It was very similar to a treehouse with numerous decks, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and kitchen. The host had great communication, was friendly and very accommodating about check-in and check-out times.

    The tent was truly luxurious, much more than most hotel rooms, as was the partially glassed delightfully hot shower of the Pacific Tent. The outside treehouse view was very nice. The restaurant experience was wonderful.

    The lodge was very comfortable and convenient to Monteverde cloud forest. It was a 15 min walk for us. Breakfast was nice and the staff were so helpful! Dinner at the restaurant was good and also convenient.

    Dave is a great host. He gave us a lot of great suggestions of activities to do in Monteverde. He is a passionate guy. The place was clean, and close to Santa Elena. Nice view for sunset.
