The golf cart fumes were just maddening and the dust in your face as a result. Finding a patch of sand beach vibes also required going 30-45 minutes away from where I was but it was worth it. And eat at the Delis.....all the best food I had was there. Every recommendation of a nicer restaurant which only meant aesthetic is was nicer and the food was more.expensive, all those places the food was lackluster. Great place to be a beach bum!! Rent a golf cart to see much of Ambergris Caye. Go to Secret Beach and eat at a picnic table in the water. Go to Palapas Beach Bar to drink and float in the tubes. The best restaurant on the island is Aji Tapas. The food was always hot and great.Go slow and talk to the wonderful people who live and work there. The Truck Stop was a lot of fun with live miusic and New Haven pizza. I would go back to Ambergris Island to stay at Bella Vista resort for 2 weeks!!.susanUnited States - 8.0Scored 8.0
You you will pretty much be driving exclusively on golf...
You you will pretty much be driving exclusively on golf carts or mopads unless you prefer bicycles. The streets will be bumpy in most parts however, you can never get lost because everything circles back to the main road. Enjoy the people, the food and have a great time.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

San Pedro felt like a whole different world from Belize City, and Belize City was a whole different world then where I'm from (Phoenix, AZ, USA). I loved driving around town in the golf cart (golf cart rentals are a must). Many little places to eat. This includes touristy restaurants and small very local places. Caye Ambergris is a lovely, breezy island. San Pedro has numerous restaurants, bars and excursion companies. The barrier reef is relatively close with lots of diving and snorkeling outings available. The islands (Ambergris and Caulker) are fairly expensive for food and drinks. A variety of lodging options are available, which seemed reasonably priced to me.SarahUnited States

Beautiful views of the sea from our second floor balcony. Fruit stand out front which was great for breakfast. Parking across the street or along the side of the building to park your golf cart. They arranged our last minute request for a golf cart (ask them a week or so ahead of time to make it easier on them). Fully stocked kitchen. Plan to come again next year.

Spacious, well-equipped apartment with all essential amenities including complimentary coffee and tea. The Resort can organise a host of excursions including to the mainland. Snorkelling trips often start from the Resort jetty and it is possible to hire all necessary kit. Plenty of food options within walking distance. Overall, a perfect stay.

The rooms are big and clean, with a nice bathroom, not so expensive. I loved having a welcome drink and I had a nice chat with people from the hotel and their friends stopping by. You also get rides from and to the airport which is definitively a plus. I will certainly come back!
