You pay for the location and the palace-hotel itself, which is wonderful, but a lot more renovations and changing must be done with the rooms and bathrooms to really match the price. It's a family owned business, so the place is cosy, large, with plenty of amenities (outdoor area with a small swimming pool, kitchenette/dining, playground and parking). Plenty of parking spaces. Our room was large, clean, and well lit. Owners are friendly and talkative. Within walking distance to the citadel (aprox. 10 minutes, or 5 minutes by car). We enjoyed a nice glass of wine in the evening (courtesy of the owners), in a cozy upstairs veranda, enjoying the peace and quiet.
