I used to own a hotel so I was fascinated to see this hotel with such an amazing guest rating and decided we had to stay there. And I can honestly say they deserve every point of that score - everything was perfect. The couple who own this place have many years experience in running large luxury hotels for brands like Sheraton so they absolutely know what they are doing and it really shows. Super comfortable beds, delicious breakfast and staff who constantly check to see if everything is Ok. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was lovely.

Wow what an experience! The view is amazing, like in the pictures and even more.
The cabin is stunning. Spacious, clean, organized, tidy and maintained at a very high level. There is thought about the small details: capsules for the coffee machine, cleaning capsules for the dishwasher, even apple juice in the fridge. They changed our towels and cleaned the cabin.
The owner of the place, Simona, is available for any question and is really attentive and charming.
Highly recommend

An area full of medieval history and well-known legends in the heart of Transylvania. Lots and lots of things to see, places to visit and experiences to try. The natural beauty of the mountains, landscapes and old villages full of traditions makes this place a gem. Very close to many other historical attractions, adventures, natural beauties or culinary attractions.

The main attraction there is Dracula Castle, which I believe is over commercialist, thanks to the writer Bram Stoker. There are a plethora of stalls selling local products as well as food. Personally, I`d rather be somewhere else like Cheile Gradistei, Fundata, or Moeciu de Sus where nature is at its best offering postcard pictures of the mountain.

Bran is definitely a tourist town.
Bran is definitely a tourist town. However, it is also a historic town. The castle is the main attraction and it is well worth a visit. We visited a few days before Halloween and it was packed with tour groups and families. There are markets in town, both at the foot of the castle. One is located right by the entrance and it consists of local souvenirs. The other one is across the street and it has good made by local artisans.
The views in the town are breathtaking. If you don't mind a busy tourist town, Bran is worth a visit for the history and the amazing views.
Parking around the castle can be a nightmare so getting accommodations within walking distance is highly recommended.

This was my first trip to Romania and I decided to keep a...
This was my first trip to Romania and I decided to keep a room in Bucharest while I traveled to Bran for two days thinking I would want to spend more time in Bucharest. However it has been the opposite. I should have stayed an extra day in Bran. Bran is very close to Brasov so you can get there in 30 minutes, even can use Uber. However, I recommend renting a car. You can pick up the car from train station if renting on Expedia as I did. I say spend more time because I got to Brasov and got the car. Parked near the Black Church and walked the square/ plaza area. This was incredible in and of itself. But after eating I headed to Bran and to my hotel (which was great). I could stay in Bran and see that view every day. But the next day I toured the Bran castle and then drove to Pele’s Castle and the Cantacuzino castle. By the time I returned to Bran was 6 pm. Perfect you might say, I saw everything in a day. Wrong. The next morning I got up and walked to the other side of the castle (down the street) and took pictures. I then drove to a place with views of the countryside. I had no time for anything else as I went back to Brasov ate lunch and left on the train back to Bucharest. Would have been better for more time in Brasov but even more so to explore other towns around Bran (within 2 hours) and to drive the Transfagarasan highway which is considered the most beautiful road in the world. (You need 8 hrs round trip to be able to do this drive from Bran so an extra day just for this) Also, white water rafting and hiking the Transylvanian Alps would have been cool.
Note in Bran there are a lot of places to eat. Most hotels have a restaurant and then the standalone restaurants (only two of these) can stay open later for a late night drink as well. There are shops to pick up snacks and groceries as well. And there are a ton of souvenir shops outside of the entrance to castle. (Which is just behind a couple of restaurants along the road)

Typical tourist center.
Typical tourist center. Near the market where you can buy souvenirs, wine, honey, Romanian national food and clothes. There are restaurants and cafes, pharmacies. Everything is nearby. I would like to improve the pavement for pedestrians in the tourist center and in the market, for example, lay paving slabs or asphalt.
Andrea the host was very gracious, she stayed late to meet us on arrival, the yard is amazing, the pictures don't do justice with it, there are 4 very spacious rooms with tv and all you need in each one. Endless amount of towels and extra sheets if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, toaster, stove, oven and all the dishes and cutlery you need. There is also a gas bbq in the yard but i haven't tried it. The location is great, it's a5 min walk to the market and bran castle.
Hanul din Bran is a wonderfull hotel, extremelly close to Bran Castle, the central squre, restaurants and pubs.Very easy to find, generous parking lot, fast check in and out, clean, warm and comfortable room, with a small balcony and a spectacular vue of the castle.Comfy bed, excellent shower, nice and helpfull personel, and a very nice touch-in the middle of the hotel is a lounge with poted plants and sofas, where you can chill or read.Value for money is excellent, and i can highly recomend this hotel.
The food was great. Many assortments.
The staff was friendly towards us and helpfull when we asked for help and took good care of us.
The whole hotel is like a vacation home up on the hill. It is very comfy and clean.
I would recommend wholeheartedly.
Be mindfull to take the road that is closest to Bran, not the first one that appears on waze. The first one is a muddy road and the second one is paved all they way to your stay(note, this is not the hotels fault but google's)
what a gem this place is. Just a short drive from Bran, The hotel was WAY bigger than expected. View of castle and surrounding areas were great. Our room had a separate bedroom from living space with a comfy couch and TONS of space. We even had a balcony to relax on in the evening and morning. Staff was great. Restaurant area with outdoor seating was nice. Make sure to check out the library upstairs for the great views. Overall we would defiantly stay again.
Location in the middle of Bran, across from the access to the castle and the park. Great hosts, they shared information on surrounding area and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We had a room with a view of the castle - wonderful to wake up and it be the first thing you see. The garden area for relaxing was beautiful, and we ate in the restaurant each night as the food was excellent.
The place had a fabulous location. In front of the guesthouse, there is a very charming river. The cottage is completely rustic and full of glamour. If I were to return, I would choose to stay here again."
The location is a 5-minute drive from Bran Castle, but I don't consider that a disadvantage, considering how beautiful the house and the surrounding area are.
Good size room, felt a bit smaller because the bed is enormous and comfortable. Our room had also a small balcony. Only one kilometre from Bran castle, yet in a quiet and elevated position that allows to view the castle. The main shorter access is a bit steep, but there's a secondary access that is more suitable for lower cars.
5 minutes walk to the Bran Castle, close to all the shops and restaurant. The room was very decorated and functional. Super cool that they also have an equipped kitchen where you can cook. We got there late so we didn’t meet the owners but they replied to us very fast when we contacted them.
We thought the hostel was very clean and had everything we needed. It has a balcony which was lovely and the host was very accommodating and kind. The location is very quiet and sweet as well as it is a 10 minute walk from Bran’s castle. Overall a great experience! Multumesc :)
Very beautiful wooden building and charming atmosphère.

Advantageous position near the castle.
Very clean.
Comfortable.
Good security.
Very warming welcome.
Probably the best accomodation in Bran.
A great location across Bran Castle. Very clean and neat. The staff is exceptionally nice and professional. The food in the restaurant is delicious. One of the best hotel experiences in Romania.
very nice and cozy…comfortable as well . but I would recommend the room with Castle view. And I must say the staff it’s really friendly and nice … I guess it s a Romanian thing .
The property has everything you need; the rooms are large, clean, with proper furniture, large beds. The place is quiet, has a lovely garden and it’s close to Bran castle.
Great location close to Bran Castle, nice big garden where you can relax. Kids have a really nice playground. Very cosy house, nice guests. We will come back for sure!
- fantastic view of the castle, one of the best I've seen in Bran
- easy check-in
- easy communication with the hosts
- lots of towels which was a plus
