The breakfast selection was fantastic and very good, nice portions.
The only thing I would have suggested is that when the wind blows, that the breakfast service be moved to the Homestead.

The staff!
And the owner really ‘walked in the shoes’ of prospective guests. So many hosts dump unwanted items in guest accommodation. Karen kept the needs of guests in mind. Everything we needed was available, from a coffee plunger to an electric blanket. Karen obviously care for her guests’ comfort.

We were met by the lovely host Karen, who made us feel very welcome. She upgraded our room, and was very helpful and informative. The facilities were cozy and nice, and the staff super friendly and helpful. We traveled for work and was relying on Wifi, as well as using the self-facilities to cook. This was no problem at all. In the evening we used the braai by the pool, and the outdoor area which was very nice and equipped. We used the laundry service on site, and had the opportunity to have breakfast made for us when we wanted. It was very easy and safe to park on the premises. Also, no problem at all to arrive early or late after a full day of hiking or climbing in Rocklands.

The town was quite shabby and needed a proper clean up. The stores were serviceable and had the right merchandise for quick purchases. Garages appeared to be too close together. The roads to and from the town were wonderful and setting splendid. It would be a beautiful sight if the town could present clean buildings with fresh paint.

A great location for a overnight travel stop when travelling to or from Cape Town, Namibia or Cederberg.
The town has a long history, with many well preserved buildings from the 1800's.
The conveniently located Bella Louise restaurant has a most delicious menu, lots of mouth-water dishes.

It is a wonderful little platteland town with stunning surroundings. The views of the Cedarberg Mountains is uplifting to one's spirit. Warm, hospitable people.
We dined at Bella Louise Restaurant and the setting was just perfect, all protocols duly followed, good food and friendly, helpful staff.
Clanwilliam is an easy place to get around and one would really have to go to great length to lose one's way.

Clanwilliam is looking rather unkempt.
Clanwilliam is looking rather unkempt. Many properties look as if they need a good dose of TLC.
There is not too much to see or do in Clanwilliam. Unfortunately for us, we had already been through Pakhuis Pass to TRavellers Rest and then via Biedouw Valley to Wupppertal to see where they make Veldskoene, but unfortunately, it was closed due to COVID infections.
The wild flowers were in proliferation in the veld wherever we looked. It was well worth the trip on the gravel road.
The unusal rock formations in Pakhuis Pass make the trip worth while. We made frequent stops to take photographs and simply gaxe at the splendour of the formations.
We had a most enjoyable evening at a restaurant - Michael's on Park. It is well worth going there if ever in Clanwilliam. Food was great, atmosphere was great and the venue is steeped in history.

Clanwilliam is the citrus capital of South Africa and a sweet little town with the famous big dam for water sports and camping and bass fishing, but its the gateway to the Cederberg mountain range and hiking , bouldering and for that its so amazing that very little can beat the nature experience, vast open spaces and mountain ranges, the rugged rocks and rock paintings.
Denise was there to welcome us when we arrived and showed us to the flat. As we walked down the stairs to the flat a beautiful view of Clanwilliam Dam greeted us. This was a great location to then go and visit the rock art. The flat was well stocked with home comforts. Denise explained to us about the power going off in SA, called load shedding and what they had put into place so that there was still lights. The braai (BBQ) was fantastic to use.
Nelda was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. She advised us on things to do in Clanwilliam and went out of her way to get information on best spots to view the wild flowers.
The property met all my expectations and the thoughtfulness of providing fruit, milk, cereals, yoghurt, tea, coffee, biscuits for our arrival made it extra special. Many thanks Nelda for making our stay unforgettable. We will definitely be back. :-)
the relaxing gardens and pools were a delight. everything is well run and managed. This is a gem
of tranquility in an otherwise non descript town. If you’re wanting to understand outlying areas like Clanwilliam and the broader cederberg this guest house is a wonderful reprieve and I do hope it continues to provide this wonderful oasis of comfort.
The hosts were true ambassadors of the Cederberg region, and spent a lot of time giving great advice on what to do and where to go. They made reservations at the local restaurant, Michael's on the Park, which was steps away. The restaurant was excellent, and very romantic. Beds were super comfy and the gardening and pool area were beautiful.
On main street of Clanwilliam, easy to find and close to shops. Seemed secure for room and vehicles. I have rated it well because though it wasn't super, it is probably as good as you will find in Clanwilliam. The nearby restaurant on the corner (Bella-Louise) was excellent, really good quality food and very reasonably priced.
I had a fabulous stay. It was very nice room with great decorations. It was spacious, quite and very clean. The host was very kind and gave great recommendations. There is a nice hike starting right from the property to some amazing rocks. The host even let me use his kayak on their large dam.
Recommended! I would come again.
Excellent private cottage in the most spectacular secluded valley. You have to drive a 7km gravel road, but you are only 10km from the centre of Clanwilliam. You feel you are in the middle of nowhere but, a short drive takes you to excellent restaurants if you want to take a break from cooking or braaiing yourself.
Fabulous breakfast, great choices and just the best scrambled egg and salmon..
Walks from the hotel were great, three options, all amongst the beautiful landscape and flowers
Dinners also wonderful, with specials added to the menu every night
The staff are there to help all the time, charming manager
Thanks Joanna for your warm welcome and a big thanks to Karen, who not only runs this guesthouse in a fantastic way, but also gives you all the personal advices you need to enjoy the most of your holiday here in Clanwilliam.
We stayed in the lovely Garden Cottage.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi and other facilities were generally great. We appreciated that the hotel noted our prior request for a room away from the street - they gave us a room at the back.
Really warm and friendly host. Bedroom most comfortable, with tea and coffee supplies and lovely rusks. Parking provided behind locked gate. Location within walking distance to our favourite restaurant in Clanwilliam.
We came for one night. This was the most simple B&B in Clanwilliam we had. The airco was not working only the fan and the temperature was 41 degree. It was very difficult to sleep with this heet.
Enid was very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, despite the load shedding. Annie cooks a wonderful breakfast. I'll definitely stay here again for my next trip to Clanwilliam.
Excellent breakfast with a view of the Clanwilliam dam, Most gracious hosts; shared many interesting fireside conversations.
Fire lit at breakfast on a cold morning was extra welcoming.
It was quiet and comfortable and even though we had a crises ay home we had the internet access! Great jacuzzi! Walked to the waterfall and the kloof! Awesome!
