Fascinating place, great place to wander around and take in all the tiny streets. We didn't have time to go into any museums or cathedral but still enjoyed our visit in the evening and the following day. We arrived on Easter Sunday and expected to find most eating places closed (which they were) - so would plan carefully if arriving on a Sunday evening

We loved this town - it was historic but had a modern part too. Easy to wander around. We randomly booked it as a stop over to recover from a long flight from Auckland to Paris on our way south. We were wonderfully surprised. Included an easy day trip to Chambord.

Beautiful city so much to see just roaming the streets you get the feel of times gone past.
The roads are steep in places and there a lots of flights of steps.
but it is so lovely you loose time so you do not realise how far you are going.
The cathedral is amazing some of the best windows I have ever seen.
There are quite a few places to sit and eat and prices were pretty reasonable.
We traveled into the city by bus which was cheap and frequent.
but after a full morning we thought we may get a taxi back
Don't try and get a taxi at lunch time they are non existent.
We waited 40 mins at the station along with 4 other couples all having phoned for a cab.

Bourges exceded our expectations for a short stay.
Bourges exceded our expectations for a short stay. Our trip coincided with annual music festival which meant the town was busy and vibrant. Most venues were open even though it was early in the season. Old town is accessible on foot. Impressive cathedral. Lots of food options. Had pizza at La Scala, good food, reasonably priced. We learnt that Bourges was once the capital of France. Well worth a visit.

Perfect for stopover halfway down France. Restaurants in vicinity were great, unless you are a vegetarian, (but it's France). Great choices for breakfast, great coffee, cereals, fresh bread and croissants, yoghurt, crepes, fresh fruits, boil your own eggs - what fun!

The medieval area is interesting but not easy to find,,, get a map and directions from the Office de Tourisme, very helpful.
Take the tourist road train from outside the Tourist Office /cathedral; last trip 5pm
Easy to find and good parking for a city centre hotel., Every member of staff was helpful and had enough English to make our dismal French not a problem. The room was as they all are in these type of hotels. The bed was extremely comfortable, the tea making equipment was adequate. The evening meal and service was very good, as was the breakfast Staff were excellent and good natured. We have stayed there previously and would stay there again. Well Done Ibis Bourges!!!!!
This is a lovely property, although it has much in keeping with some traditional B&B's in the UK - you can't get in before 5pm and you must be out by 10am! However, that aside, the room was wonderful and, being at the back of the hotel, very quiet. There is on-site secure car parking (€10) but, if you're lucky, you can park outside for free. Great location near the centre of Bourges. Lovely breakfast (€8.90 per person) with scrambled eggs offered as a bonus!
The hotel is in a great location, about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Bourges (although this does include steps and cobbled streets (for those with accessibility issues). Parking is very easy on a quiet street outside the hotel. We stayed in a Comfort Triple Room (we were two adults and one child) and were very very impressed with the size of the room and the space we had despite all our luggage. Beds were very comfortable. Will definitely return!
This apartment is unbelievably beautiful! The owner is an exceptionally friendly and nice person, a real charm to talk to. We enjoyed the place very much and his welcoming personality makes you feel right at home. The house is right by the famous cathedral and it is in a really pretty cobbled stone street. Bourges is so lovely and elegant, I highly recommend it to everyone! Do stay in this place, it's simply gorgeous!
This is such a superb place for a stop off when driving through France. Excellent location - the food in the evening and the breakfast exceeded the much more expensive hotel we were previously staying in and the pool (open until 9pm) was very welcome after a long drive. Very clean, lovely staff and well organised - we would definitely stay again.
I was surprised by the owner of the apartment, I had never experienced anything like it before. The owner was very kind and helpful! The owner helped to get to the apartments and deal with various things. I was in France for the first time and got the best impression of this country. Here is a nice place and friendly people. Thank you from Janis!
The hotel is very well situated in the historical center of bourgeois. The hotel of the 12th century is restored in good tast and our room on the top floor was marvelous. Nearly like a cosy and small catedral with the original wooden beams in sight. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all this is the place to stay in Bourges.
The property has been restored and renovated in a very sympathetic style and in keeping with its historical past Our room Don Carlos was stylish , beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable.
The breakfast is absolutely superb and almost all home made. The best we have ever eaten over many years travelling around France
Large house with many bedrooms
Big kitchen
Large backyard with swimming pool
Convenient for overnight stay during travel from NL to south of France
Private parking
Nice retro collection of radio’s and other electrical equipment
Availability of baby bed
Close to highway
Bourges is a very nice city to visit
The communication with the owner was excellent. The check-in process was seamless. The location was excellent. It was an easy walk to the important tourist areas of Bourges. The place was clean and comfortable. I come to Bourges from time to time to visit family and I would certainly stay here again.
Its small hotel near the highway, far from the city center. You can use as stop to see bourges before continuing your trip. There are Couple of good restaurants within the walking distance that open during Sunday.
The room is simple and size is good. the bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet.
Good value for the money, good stop for a night or two , it had A/C (another Ibis I was at recently didn't...), Parking, Nice breakfast (for 10€ ) , Bed pretty comfortable , and I requested two extra pillows when I booked and they were there when we arrived ! 👍
Would stay again!
Bourges is a lovely walkable city. The history and cathedral are interesting. We rented a car and drove out Sancerre to visit Chambord Castle where we had a picnic lunch, bought Chavignol goat cheese at Dubois Boulay and visited Crochet winery and bought 2 bottles.
