Affordable and on walking distance from the ciry center.
Although Mulhouse has a colourful historic centre with cobbled squares and half-timbered houses, the city is best known for its industry. Textile production shot the city into the limelight, a fact detailed in the Museum of Printed Textiles.
The world’s largest train collection is in the multi-coloured French National Railway Museum, next to the Electropolis electricity museum. The National Automobile Museum is also the world’s largest and features the Schlumpf Collection of classic cars and an exhibition track. To the east is the Parc Expo Mulhouse event centre, while west is the train station.
The heart of the city is Place de la Réunion where pavement cafes overlook the 16th-century town hall, decorated with frescoes and a 2-sided staircase. The Mulhouse Christmas market is held here at the foot of the Protestant St Stephen’s Church with its towering spire.
The Catholic church of the same name also has a tall tower, and the Tour de l’Europe is a modern skyscraper with a restaurant on top. Its 3 sides face France, Switzerland and Germany, reflecting the history of the Alsace which was under Swiss and German rule before joining France once and for all.
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg also serves the 3 countries, and Booking.com has a good range of luxury hotels, and cheap apartments and B&Bs nearby.

Although it is a provincial town, close to Switzerland and Germany, Mulhouse is not to be missed, I was charmed by the old part of town, with its weekend bookshops, quality shops, and Alsacian restaurants, but also the car and train museums!

A beautiful city centre, very historic and pretty.
A beautiful city centre, very historic and pretty. Close enough to take a short drive to Basel in Switzerland and into Germany. In three days based there we visited 3 countries!
We recommend the Winstub factory to eat but make sure you book as it is extremely popular.

I would never recommend somebody to stay in this apartment.

First they ask you to deposit 300 euros to receive the code to enter the apartment, and they do not return the money.
The sheets are dirty.

Seemingly just another industrial city there is plenty of top quality museums both in Mulhouse and in nearby Basel, including the Cite du Train (Mulhouse); and the Toy World Museum and the Paper Mill (in Basel). City centre is compact and walkable, plus there's a tramway that links to the railway station.

Mulhouse is an old industrial town and this is reflected in the main tourist attraction - the French national railway and car museums both of which are well worth a visit.
I was able to walk to the latter but the former involved a trip on the City's tram network which was frequent, cheap and appeared to offer a reasonable coverage of the main parts of the city.
Mulhouse is not that far from Strasbourg and Colmar and was a good base for sightseeing in the region.

We were only on a short holiday so two days was probably about right. Mulhouse is a very pleasant town. Not as pretty as Colmar which we visited earlier in the day, but still a very pleasant and friendly place to stay. We formed the opinion that Mulhouse is probably a very stress free, and attractive place to live. We enjoyed our stay and ate very well.
Small hotel in a little bit depressing surroundings, just a few steps away from the city center. The hotel staff was very friendly, the hotel is small but clean, with rooms just big enough for sleeping overnight, large secured parking for the cars, simple but sufficient breakfast. Good place for tourists coming to explore Mulhouse but there is no space for working in a room if needed. Good value for the money compared to other options near the city center
Very good acceptable price for one night stay. Nice service but no English language (just to be aware) but stuff is trying to help even with language barrier. Room was quite clean. No fridge.
Perfect place for fast one night stay close to borders of France and Germany plus the city Mulhouse has cheap petrol.
Amazing location! Very short walk to train station and the historic center was only 1 block walk!! I should have stayed here for entire Alsace visit and used as home base to visit Colmar and Selestat. Price was much more reasonable than other towns. And it was shortest walk to train station.
I spent one night in Mulhouse traveling from Italy to Germany. I found Brit Hotel perfect for my needs. Room was small but clean, comfy beds and a super conveninent gated parking for 7€. The hosts were nice and helpful. The hotel is at 10 minutes walk from the main square and pedestrian area.
Thanks to the hotel for providing a quiet room in the new part of the hotel. Spacious and comfortable room. Large king size bed, extremely comfortable. Secure storage of our bicycles and friendly staff who allowed us to drop our luggage and bicycles around noon.
Really nice hotel very close to Mulhouse old town. Nice spacious rooms, a great value for money. Very helpful staff. A close kitchenette is a nice plus for a quick breakfast or any other meal. The hotel has a garage and parking there is a real adventure ;)
This beautiful, comfortable hotel is located in the heart of Mulhouse, making it easily accessible to restaurants, public transport and shops. The staff are very friendly and most helpful. The hotel is spotless and the breakfast plentiful.
Comfortable and clean accomodation at low price. Studio with baby cot provided. Easy stop en route to Italy. Mulhouse is the kind of location suited for an overnight stay, with a small city centre than can be visited in a few hours.
The hotel is close to the train station and the old town.
No noise from the trains was heard even though it is close to the railway and the station.
The breakfast was good even if it is not varied, vegetables could be added.
The room smell a lot smoke of cigarett , I paid the room and i di not stay . They don´t want to pay back my money even if i did´nt stay and i explained that children can not breath in the room because the bad smell of cigarette.
This is an elegant hotel in a beautiful older building. The room was well appointed and comfortable with a beautiful marble bathroom. It is close to the old downtown and near a tram for visiting the automobile museum.
Comfortable hotel, good value for money, underground parking available for a fee. I stayed in an apartment with my family which was spacious enough and had everything needed. Reception and check in possible 24h/24h.
The hotel is very nice, clean and its location is perfect, near to the center, restaurants and to the old quarter of Mulhouse.
The room wasn't big but it was enough, the facilities of the room were great.
Stayed one night on the way to south France. It was ok location, liked the big underground parking just next to the hotel. The rooms are small. Comfortable beds, updated bathroom
It‘s a great villa with a really great breakfast, also the location is 10min next to Mulhouse by feet - Great!
The guys of the hotel were really nice and happy.
