Good location close to St Malo ferry, supermarket right outside and easy access to restaurants. Basic but adequate for one night. Breakfast was basic continental style with pastries, yoghurt, coffee etc, for a fair price, especially as no where else is open early on Sunday morning and was much better than the ferry breakfast! It was adequate but we would probably pay a bit more for a more comfortable place next time

We always stay here when we are catching the day ferry to the UK. It is a convenient drive to the port, and saves a very early departure from home in central Brittany. You can also do last-minute shopping and fill up the car in the adjacent Madeleine retail park.
It's a good better-than-basic hotel. I have mobility issues, and they have well appointed rooms for PMRs, and a lift to the upper floors and to the Buffalo Grill.

Location is amazing and having parking inside intra-muros under the hotel is so convenient! We will definitely stay here again.
Also a lot of reviews are complaining about the parking being tight but it is going to be tight in such a location, and with my quite large car I found it much easier then I had expected.
Staff couldn't do enough to help us, very nice
We didn't have time for breakfast but next time!

Walled Gateway to France
One of the major seaports connecting France and England, Saint Malo is Brittany’s most visited town and a tourist destination in its own right.
The Old Town overlooks the English Channel and is completely surrounded by restored walls. You get a great view of them if you arrive on the ferries from England to St Malo (either direct or by the Channel Islands). Once an island, this citadel now shelters behind it the hundreds of sailing boats bobbing in the modern harbor.
Within the Old Town are bars and restaurants serving oysters from nearby Cancale, and many of the St Malo hotels. The most notable sights are the cathedral with its colorful, stained-glass window, and the castle - site of the town's museum.
The beaches are sandy, though the water is somewhat bracing. A causeway leads to Grand Bé, a rocky island housing the tomb of Chateaubriand, its most famous son. To the south is the 14th-century Solidor Tower, a remarkable collection of artifacts from voyages around Cape Horn. Further inland is Labyrinthe du Corsaire, a huge maze that will keep kids busy for hours.
In the Rance River, connecting the sea to Dinan, is the world’s first tidal power station. The road over it leads to Dinard Airport, the closest to Saint-Malo.
Saint Malo is a very interesting and beautiful town.

Outstanding medieval walled city rich in centuries of history. Inside the walled city is a beautiful labyrinth of cobbled lanes and alleys, filled with cafes, shops, restaurants and hotels. A truely unique experience that visitors should invest time to discover all there is to see. The changing tides and the effect on the local coast is remarkable to see. Best to visit at low tide.

Lovely place to visit for a long weekend ; great beaches and restaurants. We ate at Le Cale in Solidor ; great seafood but quite pricey and in a great location overlooking the bay. The Creperie also great for snacks, tapas and drinks. Great atmosphere and great views and great value for money.
Intra muros really interesting and great to walk around walls. Enjoyed walking around the peninsula between Solidor and St Malo . A great walk parc Solidor with fab views and a great private beach at low tide.
We were just out of season so weren't able to to use the sea bus across to Dinard as planned.
Hotel Alba was in a great location and just a short walk to the city center along the beautiful coastline. The room was beautiful, cozy and the beds were very comfortable. We slept so well with the windows cracked open to hear the ocean. Out the windows of the bedroom was an uninhibited view of the ocean with beautiful sunrises and sunsets and steps nearby that lead straight down to the beach. It was just stunning and we had an absolutely wonderful time exploring Saint-Malo.
A comfortable hotel, run by a friendly owner. Hotel de la Mer is located in a pleasant district of St Malo, just a short - and very pleasant - walk away from the walled city. The proprietor is very friendly and is willing to go out of his way to ensure that guests feel welcome and that their requirements are fully met. The hotel bar is welcoming and friendly and there are several excellent restaurants within the immediate vicinity.
The hotel is located within the walled city center. It is a modern building with all facilities necessary. Our suite had a large balcony.
San Malo is a wonderful city, full of restaurants and bars but still very quiet. Don't forget to have lunch or dinner at L'Ancrage for one of the best seafood meals we have ever had.
Easy access to Mont Saint Michel, a must when you are in this area. The abby on top is spectacular.
No words are necessary to describe St. Malo. The hotel itself is right next to one of the walls' entrances. The rooms are comfortable; they're equipped with a desk on which to work while there. The hotel lobby is also comfortable, and the (paid) breakfast is nice enough. There's an elevator so one needn't carry one's luggage up flights of stairs. Everything in the old town is within a short walk away.
Incredibly close proximity to the walled city to enjoy the many restaurants, shops and beaches. The modern decor was very easy on the eye, and the bar area, pool & spa were all very closely located. The staff were extremely helpful and they spoke English which did help our dialogue and answered many questions for us. Liddie & Guilliame were so obliging to our many requests.
The hotel is beautiful and ideally located a stone's throw from the a variety of shops and restaurants. The staff could not have been more helpful. We hope to return to Saint-Malo in the next 18 months and will certainly be checking in to the Ajoncs d'Or. We will also be recommending it to anyone we know.
Good breakfast, easy free parking right outside the hotel and kind staff.
Saint-Malo old town/Intermural and its beaches 10 minutes drive The hotel’s location isn’t charming but conveniently situated with a super market across the road and shopping within a couple minutes drive.
Large, modern hotel on a square in the historic old town, making it an excellent base for exploring on foot. Clean, reasonably sized room with all usual facilities. Helpful staff. Underground private car park with a handful of above ground spaces. Nice bar and outdoor terrace.
I really enjoyed my stay. It isn’t far from the ferry or the old town. Both are a short drive away. There seemed to be plenty of spaces to park on the street or in the hotel’s car park. My room was very comfortable and breakfast was well presented and there was a variety.
The manager was very helpful and stored our bikes for us overnight. He also let us drop our bags off early and put them in our room. The room was spacious and well decorated. The hotel is in a quiet location but also close to the main centre of the old town.
Perfect location on a marvellous beach. Beautiful chic hotel with great quirky taste. Very good breakfast and good dinner overlooking the sea. Really good stay, with walks into the walled city along the promenade.
Location fantastic for train station. 15 min easy walk to old walled city. Clean, modern hotel with helpful staff. For a 6 am train, they even opened breakfast room a little earlier to offer some coffee, options.
The hosts make the experience in the hotel wonderful, they will give you a full scope of the best spots in the surroundings, making our stay super smooth while getting the cosy feeling of being welcome.
Really lovely hotel right in the centre of the walled city in St Malo. Nice spacious room with lovely little balcony. The staff were really kind and couldn't do enough to help you.
