The hotel is small, but the basics are there. Good location. Although the hotel is not in the city center, it is convenient to get there by tram, which goes through the entire city to Germany. The staff at the hotel truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome throughout my stay. From the early-check in to the permission of us waiting at the lobby until our mid night bus depart. Every interaction was met with a smile and genuine hospitality. Overall, my experience here was nothing short of fantastic. Magical place wandering around Le petite france area.
Magical place wandering around Le petite france area. Highly recommend the tourist trains (there are two) which both go from either side of the cathedral. 45 mins each circuit. Informative and interesting. Do the one through Le Petite France first as it’s the best. The second one takes you more around the city through university area and past historical german/nazi areas. Make sure to wandering around Le Petite France on foot also though esp around the lock area by the tanners house.

A beautiful medieval town with interesting architecture.
A beautiful medieval town with interesting architecture. The guided tour (which was offered in 12 languages!!) with the boat through the river was nice and interesting. People in general and personnel of the hotel, restaurants and cafes were very polite, smiling and multilingual (something extremely useful if you don't speak French). The famous cathedral was beautiful architecturally but somehow "soulless" and icy cold. The stairs to the top need excellent physical condition. The charge was different for some of us, for no reason. It seemed that the person who was responsible for the tickets decided on spot about the price (some of us paid 8 euros while others 5 euros. We were all the same age with no students...). Unfortunately most of the restaurants and cafes aren't local but Asian so if you want to taste the local dishes you need to search a lot.

The history of the city of Strasbourg was never ending! The old buildings, the beautiful views as well as the very helpful and friendly shop owners and citizens ensures that we will return to Strasbourg. We stayed at Hotel Gutenberg (right around the corner from Notre Dame) and very close to restaurants and shops.

One of the best places I have been to.
One of the best places I have been to. Notre dame is a must visit. Take in the beauty of the canals and stroll by.
There are boats plying on the canal. Don’t take them. Walk is the best. People are very friendly. Beer is good.
The room has air-conditioning!!! This saved us as it was over 90F during our stay. Otherwise, room is small but very comfortable. But the best features are (a) the location (literally just opposite the train station, yet quiet at night) and (b) the breakfast (which has to be the best hotel breakfast I have ever had in the US or Europe). They have pet parakeets and bikes to rent. It is a fabulous hotel, with a short walk to the main sights of Strasbourg.
I was travelling by bicycle and this hotel was right by the Eurovelo 5 cycle track along the river, and not far from the historic centre of Strasbourg. It was very easy to find. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The in-house restaurant, with its quiet outdoor patio in the rear yard, was my preferred dining option while in Strasbourg for three nights. A safe place was available for my bicycle on the ground floor of the hotel.
The location was great! Just a 2 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is right on a main street with restaurants, bars, grocery stores, shopping, etc. We walked to the Cathedrale and Petite France. The front desk staff was very nice and as a bonus spoke English. The room wasn't fancy but it had everything we needed and was comfortable. And two big, beautiful windows overlooking the street below.
This hotel is a marvel in central old town Strasbourg - you feel as though you stepped back in time, without having to sacrifice comfort, cleanliness and modern touches like a Nespresso machine in your room, firm beds and high quality bedding. Breakfast was also perfect and the inner courtyard not to be missed for afternoon drinks. Staff was friendly and accommodating throughout.
Very helpful check in staff,Room was very spacious and clean, excellent shower with toiletries.
Breakfast was excellent ,with lots to chose from and something for every taste. It was nice to have the garden /courtyard to sit in to enjoy a drink.
IHotel right near train station and a short walk away to reach the town centre and Le Petite France..
Highly recommend this hotel.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the accommodation considering its modest rating here on Booking. It was clean and comfortable, and one of the cheapest options in Strasbourg for my dates of travel. Location is about 2.5km from the historic center, but there is literally a tram station located right across the street from the hotel. Definitely recommend it!
Hotel Vendome has an excellent location; across the main train station (Gare de Strasbourg) and at the beginning of a shopping street. The walk to the main attractions, such as Petite France or the Notre Dame de Strasbourg, are around 8-10 minutes.
The staff are very warm, welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed our little chats with them.
Wi-fi was good.
The location of the hotel is perfect, Petite France and all other attractions you might want to see in Strasbourg are in very close walking distance. The equipment of the room is very basic but will do the job if you want to just stay one or two nights and not spend a lot of time at the hotel.
The staff speak English.
Wonderful location for a weekend stay in Strasbourg. Comfortable rooms with nice view of the city. Hotel is a 15 minute walk to the centre of the old city, with shops (pharmacy, groceries, wine shop, bakery) only 2-3 minutes away. Staff were very kind and accommodating. Neighbourhood was quiet and very safe.
The hotel was located close to the attractions downtown. Bed was comfortable and bathroom/spa was marvelous. Close to Restaurants and a nearby Saturday Market was only a block away. Balcony overlooking Main Street was a pleasure. Will plan to stay here again when in Strasbourg.
The property was so lovely, the hotel and staff were superb and so obliging BUT I DO FEEL BOOKING .com could have been much more upfront and transparent about the parking situation before you book , as Strasbourg hate cars , not great for a travelling holiday
Personnel was very friendly and went a long way to answer all questions for advice around place to visit and where to eat.
Location is good: close to the highway and city Centre. You can walk from the hotel to Strasbourg's highlights.
The location is very central. You can just walk out and reach the best touristic centres in Strasbourg. Parking place was full but the hotel offers a discount card for public parking so it was conveniently solved.
Good location (8 min walking from Petite France). Available parking space in the same street (payable). Very clean, comfortable beds. Silence. I needed to sew a button and they quickly brought a kit.
We liked the location of the room; very quiet. The staff were all nice and accommodating. Breakfast had a lot of choices. The hotel location was close to petite France and the train station.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast. Convenient location close to Petite France and other tourist locations. Very clean rooms. Very comfortable beds and pillows.
It’s a nice hotel located in the heart of Strasbourg. The room was comfortable and have all the necessary. It was quiet besides the location close to the light rail.
For the Brits out there, this hotel has the facilities of a Premier, with some added extras! Would definitely recommend, great location for Strasbourg Centre.
