Nice large room and shower room. Very clean. Great view from the breakfast room. The breakfast was perfect for me; fresh fruit & natural yogurt, selection of cereals, soda bread, big selection of quality jams, peanut butter etc. Plus scrambled eggs on toast and good quality teas. Taxi back from town was E8 (paid E10). Quiet roads for walking and cycling. Very helpful owners.

The house is conveniently located close to the village, but very quiet. It was warm on arrival, and the kids loved having a few channels to play with on the TV!
The beds were comfortable and had lovely duvets and blankets.
We'll be back again for sure!

From the 25th to the 27th, we enjoyed a pleasant 2-day stay here. The self-service continental breakfast option was a highlight, allowing us to help ourselves to tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day—an excellent touch. During the owner's visit to the house, we found him welcoming and received valuable advice on the Slieve League trek and tour. His recommendation to park our car in the upper car park rather than the lower one proved to be particularly helpful.
Surrounded by beautiful tranquil countryside and well-kept gardens, this charming family-run country house offers comfortable accommodation, tasty fresh food and a traditional Irish welcome

So underrated, I would wholly recommend Ardara to anyone looking for friendly, kind locals in Donegal. It’s a quiet town in the middle of the west coast, perfect as a base for exploring Co. Donegal. Nancy’s Pub is great in the evenings; Sliabgh Liag Distillery is a must-visit and Eddie Doherty is a local celebrity with his weaving skills! Reasonably priced Donegal tweed products - much more affordable than the other shop in town. The Courthouse (in the Heritage Center) also does delicious breakfasts and baked goods. The only thing I’d be wary of is walking along the road - the drivers speed regardless of the time of day.

Easy to get around.
Easy to get around. Parking in free car parks or on the street.
Good base for touring Donegal.
Main hotel Nesbitt Arms are taking in Ukrainian refugees so will be closed to tourist accommodation.
The Corner House & other pubs are lively on a weekend night, so it can be noisy on the streets after hours.
Mostly good pub food available - very few restaurants.
An exceptional accommodation run by a couple who put the guests’welfare above all other considerations. Extra: the location that is exceptional: house, setting, view…..extra plus: a surprise every morning….. extra plus plus: the advice for Slieve League( amazing place), Ardara( a lively village)…. and the interesting exchanges with Brigitte and Adrien. For those who wish to remain alone, for those who want to share a cup of coffee / tea with other guests. The Lookout is adapted to every holidamaker.
Everything! Having stayed in Ardara a number of times over the last few years I love the town. I have always stayed in the local hotels. Never again! This house surpasses anywhere that I have ever stayed. The owners are amazing. The Cottage is amazing. People thought I was mad to go to a cottage in Donegal in December. To be honest this house is warmer and more comfortable then anywhere else I have ever stayed. I'm so impressed that I have decided to rebook for the new year.
The accommodation is extremely central with free on street parking. Aileen welcomed us to our lovely, clean homely room. We had full use of the kitchen facilities which included a coffee machine, kettle, fridge etc. Lots of food items were also given to us to enjoy over the course of our stay. The generosity and extra little touches meant a lot. We will 100% be back for another visit in the future.
The Old Barracks is a great location to stay in the centre of Ardara. Jacinta went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Her home baking was very appreciated too. we only spent a night but this would be a fabulous place to base yourself to see the sights of the area. Her recommendation to go go Marghera Beach and caves was great.
Bayview Country House was easy to find and has ample parking. Our hostess and her family and staff were kind, friendly, and very helpful with advice about area restaurants and pubs. Our room and bath were spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Very good breakfast.
Not far from Ardara and local garage. Some food was left in kitchen (self catering). The road beside the apartment led to Maghera beach, caves and the waterfall - stunning! Clean, tidy, modern decor. Easy to park and to get key from key lock. Warm greeting.
The property was ideally located for us to visit either Ardara or Killybegs for an evening meal. We opted to go to Ardara and our host recommended two venues which we both visited. The accommodation was spotless and our breakfast had a good range of options.
A fantastic bed-and-breakfast! We visited in the down season, and had the entire place to ourselves, and the hostess was outstanding. We felt incredibly welcomed and had a fabulous breakfast. Would recommend to anyone traveling in Donegal!
Beautiful, comfortable house with great views. Our host was warm, welcoming, and assisted with dinner recommendations/reservations. Breakfast was delicious and served inside the warm and cozy kitchen. Made us feel so at home and at peace.
The accommodation was much better than we expected. Right in the centre of Ardara with parking and easy access to all the places we wanted to visit. Beautiful bedrooms and bathroom and very well equipped kitchen. Will definitely return.
Ardara is a lovely village and Hillhead House was a perfect place to stay after a day exploring Slieve League and then heading north toward Derry. Comfortable room, ample parking, 5 minute walk into town. Wonderful Irish hospitality.
Beautiful home in quiet surroundings, but close to Ardara. The host family was lovely, made us feel at home right away. Delicious breakfast! One of the best bed and breakfast’s we’ve ever stayed at.
Lovely b and b. Walk into Ardara town. Clean , light and very comfortable. Our room was large and very pleasant. Sinead and her mother run a great spot for a night or 2
Great place. Quiet and cosy. Accommodation really lovely and better than a hotel.
Great town with excellent music too
