The house and the location of the house are extraordionary but it is also Francis and the team what makes a special spirit.

We had booked to stay for a wedding, we booked a HOTEL room we were given a make shift hotel room in a house outside of the venue, we couldn’t go near our room during the wedding as it was outside and it lashed rain, we had zero comfort in staying for the wedding , we even tried to move to the diamond coast mid evening as we were so disappointed in the room we were given we were told it’s a new hotel room which I couldn’t believe as it was in a house absolutely freezing we had to get managers to come in at 4am to fix our heating , it was extremely unsafe people outside our room as it was so near smoking area. I’m so disappointed as it was our first night away in years we paid €220 for this, it was a joke. We will 100% not be returning to stay at future weddings . Staff didn’t help in the matter just said it’s a new room and they were booked out if we were made aware of the room being off site in first place we would have cancelled. Overall so disappointed and appalled you can call it a hotel room.

We were delighted with our stay. Our host, Seamus ensured that my daughter and I were comfortable. It was lovely to wake up in our room and hear the sound of the sea, the sounds of the cockerel and ducks, the smell of a turf fire and to stand on the bed and look out over the sea. We took a walk the evening before onto the beach behind and had a picnic tea there.

We didn't realise how close Ballycastle is to the beach.

We didn't realise how close Ballycastle is to the beach. It was great to be able to walk there and back. We enjoyed an evening drink in Healy's bar which serves an excellent pint of Guinness. We ate at Killala Restaurant about 15 minutes from Ballycastle. Staff there are friendly with great food. We especially liked the chocolate tart with ginger ice-cream. Mary's bakery in Ballycastle was open at 9am and we enjoyed freshly baked scones and pastries before going to visit Downpatrick Head.

A lovely quiet village, with a beautiful bakery called Mary’s Bakery. All beautiful goods cooked on the day fresh and home made! Bally castle village is also not far from the breath taking Downpatrick head! A must see no matter sunshine or rain, we were lucky to experience it in both
