This place was perfect for me - I was doing business, needed a good, tidy, independent place to get a good nights sleep, with a good healthy breakfast (fruit and cereal). It was an excellent room, independent of the house, easy to come and go, pretty quiet, own bathroom and kitchenette.

We only visited the Supermarket as we had a Marie function just out of Hastings. We were there most of the weekend. It was beginning to rain when we all left and rained all the way to Gisborne. Hastings looks very tidy and upmarket. I hadn’t visited Hastings for many years. It was great.

This was a visit for a whānau gathering, so my itinerary was pretty much planned before I arrived. I know Hastings well and there are many great things to keep you busy and entertained if you choose to holiday here. If you are coming to Hastings then a stay at Portmans is a great choice. This is a lovely friendly town and region.
This is a lovely friendly town and region. I’ve traveled here yearly with work and holiday for several decades. Even a week or so after the Feb 2023 cyclone slammed this town it was back up and running for visitors. I was in Hastings to participate in an early morning fundraising activity so I was focused on accommodation, food, ease of getting to the fundraising site and buying seasonal fruit. Got seasonal fruit on Sunday as they would not be open on the stat holiday on Monday. Accommodation is good - cheap, well maintained, central location Food - Could not find a restaurant so got take aways Asked at large supermarket in Hastings for location of Flaxmere Park - staff discussion between 5 people resulted in none of them having heard of it.

The people are always friendly, there are many wonderful places to visit, lots of different activities, splash planet is always a hit.. Plenty of different places to eat out, theres a place for all diets.. Normally I don't cope with traffic lights however driving around Hastings does not cause me anxiety.. We love visiting Hastings..keenanNew Zealand

Staff were great and were accommodating even though we arrived early for check in. After a long drive from Tongariro, this was greatly appreciated. Room was quite spacious and everything was there, although we didn’t use these, but great to know for future reference. We only stayed for one night as we had to travel down South. Awesome accommodation with lovely views over the vineyard. The facilities are top notch, with a great big terrace, comfortable seating, perfect kitchen, very comfortable bed and great bathroom facilities. Too sad we live in Germany so that coming again is probably not working out😅. A big thumbs up for Deanne & Trevor who created this diamond in the Hastings area☀️🍷👏🏽.
