The two bedroom cabin/lodge we stayed in was beautifully furnished, had a great layout and a good use of space plus we loved the interior styling. It had views over the lake, a cosy wood burner and was walking distance to town but felt more rural. The beds were very comfortable and everything we loved. The kitchen was well equipped. We really appreciated the tasty loaf of bread provided and the little Whittakers chocolates which was a lovely touch.
Offering free WiFi and beautiful views of Lake Tekapo and the Southern Alps, Lakeview Tekapo offers 3 self-contained adults-only luxury units as well as a separate 2 bedroom unit.

Great place to visit beautiful view.
Great place to visit beautiful view. Colour photos turn out fantastic due to lighting, lake environment colours. Sky at night best I've seen. Rented large house for our family gathering. In advance Contacted Four Square Tekapo they offered to cook chickens, make vegetarian dish, supplied all our food. Also made salads supplied breads, deserts, drinks. We were so pleased with the service this store provided. Perfect. Would of loved to stay longer.

Lake Tekapo is beautiful and very relaxing but only needs a couple of days to be seen thoroughly.
There's a pleasant, flat walk along and above the shoreline that's not too taxing for younger children and there are trails and hot spring pools for older kids/adults. There's also mini golf or ice skating, depending on what time of the year you go.
Shops are very limited and those available are overpriced - if you are staying self-catered, try to bring food with you or eat out. Thoroughly recommend 25 degree - they don't take bookings so you'll need to get there as they open (for dinner) or be prepared to wait/come back later.
Another downside is the inconsiderate behaviour of some of the other tourists - if you're trying to get any decent photos of the Good Shepherd church or stars, you'll need to go very early/very late or find a secluded place for night photos. Some people seemed unaware that this is a spot for limited light so had car headlights on full whilst sitting outside the church - which made our photographers trip a bit wasted.

Only stayed in Lake Tekapo because I wanted to walk on the Hooker Valley Track. It was reasonable accommodation a good hour away from Mount Cook. Loved our accommodation in Wee Mack and enjoyed going to the Hot Springs after our long fantastic walk to the Mueller Lake glaciers. Wanted to see the stars but it was either cloudy or the moon was too bright to get that dark sky/ full of stars effect. The Summit sky activity has to be booked at least one month in advance.

Lake Tekapo is a beautiful location, with lots to see and do.
A car is needed to see the full extent of the Lake and surrounding districts.
There is a lot of choice from self-cook to takeaways and eat-in restaurants. Something for everyone.
Great location, walking distance from the lake. The host was welcoming, check in and out was very easy. The bedroom setup was similar to hotel, the bedding and bedsheets were good qualities. The bathroom was super clean in like new condition. We saw stars at night, very quiet, we slept well. The breakfast was sufficient with lots of fruits, yogurt, toast with smashed avocado etc. The town of lake Tekapo is simply beautiful, great stop.
Fantastic views looking across the ranges and Lake Tekapo, we saw the sunrise and spectacular sunset. The skylight in the room would be a plus on starry nights. Unfortunately it was full moon when we were there, so missed out on this great feature. The hotel was brand new with luxurious fittings. Very clean, tastefully decorated, host was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable with our unit.
The best view of Lake Tekapo in town! Huge picture windows in the communal kitchen and dining room; upstairs loft area with same views plus two outside decks; right on a grassy park that slopes down to the lake. Easy access to groceries, restaurants, the beach, The Dark Sky Project. We had an ensuite room with a large bathroom. The common areas were well kept.
This accommodation is right on the edge of the lake it is beautiful to wake up to. Facilities and amenities are clean and convenient. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a pretty big holiday park.It is only a few short minutes walk to tekapo springs that was a bonus for us.
We loved the location and the view. We were in a cabin looking over Lake Tekapo with no other interference. Just perfect views. We sat out on the deck and watched the stars come out (past 11pm mind you during summer!). We had resident ducks and rabbits visit us which was fun.
Wonderful property, well organized cottage. Very clean. Easy to access. Hosts readily accommodated our late check-in. Great location, walk to Lake Tekapo and to the little village for stores and restaurants. Fantastic stainless steel hot tub. Would highly recommend.
This was a great place to stay at in Lake Tekapo. I was there for one night and it had all the things I needed. The room even has a mini fridge, electric kettle, and dishes. For a short term stay, would highly recommend. Can't beat the price and the location.
Really felt looked after, pleasant real old school Kiwis own this, & you felt like a guest, rather than a number. It has large rooms, the bathrooms are really private unlike most cubical backpackers, you get a whole bathroom to yourself.
The location of the cottage was great, close to the town centre and the lake. Friendly, helpful manager. The cottage is basic and a bit dated, but it's one of the cheaper options in Lake Tekapo and has everyting you need.
Superb clean and nicely decorated. The location is at hillside with a glimpse of the Lake Tekapo. The owner is very hospitality and thoughtful. We enjoyed a beautiful morning with a cup of nice Nespresso.
The house is modern, clean. Three bathrooms were all really clean and bright.
Walking distance to the church, and to the city centre.
Absolutely will want to stay if I visit Lake Tekapo next time.
Location, it's the only hotel right on the banks of Lake Tekapo with views of the landmark Church. You could also step out to food and retail options within seconds.
