We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at this gem of a place, set in a lush forest. The surroundings were idyllic, with beautiful vistas over Whitianga town and beach. The bed was superb and breakfast was amazing - more than we could eat with more than 6 types of fruit, yoghurt, bacon & eggs, and mushrooms and tomatoes, toast...... We've never seen such a variety of teas and coffee on offer! Wish we had had more than 1 night to enjoy Beverley and Dave's wonderful hospitality. 10 out of 10!!

We joined a cruise to the Cathedral Cove from Whitianga.
We joined a cruise to the Cathedral Cove from Whitianga. It was very nice and enjoyable. The beach was scenic. It is a small town but with 2 big supermarkets where we can buy fresh local food.
It is a long drive from Auckland. It would be easier if there is car ferry from Auckland east to the Coromandel pennisula.

Whitianga is a beautiful place especially the area we stayed in being surrounded by the beach. Everything is close by in walking distance. What a bonus. The people are lovely and friendly. We tried the Slice slice baby - pizza place because we seen a lot of people going in and out and now we know why! We also had fish and chips from the shop just next to the pizza and by far the best fish and chips I've had. Fresh and tasty.

Whitianga is the perfect place to stay on the Coromandel...
Whitianga is the perfect place to stay on the Coromandel Peninsula. The town had plenty of facilities and we enjoyed using the passenger ferry to Shakespeare lookout.
The town has plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes, some of the bars have DJ nights and live music.
The town has plenty of little shops, we found everything we needed from a chemist to a second-hand book shop. There are lots of cute little independent boutiques & shops, convenience stores and some big brand names including Countdown, New World and Subway! Plus several places to get fuel.
There are restaurants galore, Indian, Chinese, Thai, bistro style and pie shops.
If we stayed here again we would rent a property a little bit away from the centre of town, the outdoor DJ kept us away until 12.45 one night!!
The unit was sparkling clean. I enjoyed sipping coffee from the balcony. We woke up early to watch the sun rise and even made time to slip into the hot tub. We did not cook outdoors, but noted the gorgeous table for alfresco dining. We opted for the Whitianga restaurants which were a short drive away. The proprietors left us a shallow container of water to rinse our feet before entering the unit. Great idea! When we checked in, we appreciated advice about visiting Driving Creek Railway, a narrow gauge railway constructed by a potter.
We had a lovely stay at these apartments. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming and the apartments themselves are even better than what you'd imagine for a beachfront property!
The spa overlooking the bay is amazing and the apartment itself is spacious with a really comfy bed.
Though we had unfortunately miserable weather during our stay, the accomodation made up for it with it's close proximity to the town centre and facilities
Faith and Ralph are excellent hosts. They make you feel so welcome. They couldn't be more helpful. Check-in and guest information book very informative. The unit itself is spotlessly clean. Lovely garden which guests can use too. Good breakfast items in the fridge. Very close to the centre of Whitianga and the supermarkets. We loved this place and will definitely stay again.
Lovely hosts. Excellent accommodation. Well stocked for cooking and eating in. Loved the salt shaker and the jug of milk in the fridge!
Literally across the road from the beach and 2 mins drive to Whitianga main street and the boat ramp.
We relaxed immediately, great calm atmosphere, beachside vibe. Highly recommended, just not when we want to visit!
5 stars 🌟
A lovely home and room with a lovely garden. The room had many heartwarming overseas items, so different from ordinary motels. Nice couple and three animals as lovely as the owners.
The guest lounge was clean and cosy, with an electric jug to make hot drinks.
Fantastic hosts and couldn't ask for more. Heather and Don are really friendly and the venue is immaculate! Premium location which is right next to the beach and can walk to restaurants easy. Breakfast is delicious and just like a 5 star hotel!
Nice view looking out over the water, there was only one road between the hotel and the beach. The road was noisy at times but once the windows were closed you couldn't hear anything. Very close to Whitianga township.
Easy check in, friendly and helpful staff, super clean apartments with great amenities. Loved the location for exploring the area. Could not ask for more. Great value and very satisfied! Would highly recommend!
Plenty of space in the living area, and a full kitchen.
Everything was very clean and tidy. Surprisingly quiet and private for a large block of apartments.
Very comfortable bed.
Beautiful spacious, modern and very comfortable apartment with everything you need for a perfect stopover at Whitianga. Sheree, the hostess is very warm and friendly.
We had the beach view room. We absolutely 💯 loved it. Whitianga is the best. The people were very nice to talk to and helpful. We will be coming back. Thank you 😊
