I was looking forward to our stay in a retro-style renovated hotel. The reception staff were welcoming and pleasant. We had a 'cosy' suite booked in the Heritage wing on the 3rd floor. As we were only staying the one night, I love the 'cosy' option and had no preconceptions about it being anything other than small, yet well appointed. SMELL The room was beautiful with the exception of being confronted by an overwhelming, intense and putrid chemical, floral odour. It literally took our breath away. The windows could not be opened and having the door open didn't diminish the smell. To the hotel's benefit, the On Duty Manager organised an extractor fan immediately to try and expel the odour. 45 minutes later she contacted me and said the odour couldn't be removed, and she personally checked the room. UPGRADE We were then provided a King room with a balcony, an apology note and a complimentary bottle of red for any inconvenience caused. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the use of the balcony. So a big thank you to the On Duty Manage for both organising an upgrade and also checking the odour in person. AUDREY'S WOW!! Now this was amazing. We had a wonderful welcome from the Maitre De. Our waiter, Sebastian, was a delight. He was informative, bright and attentive. The food was undeniably perfect. It was a well oiled machine from kitchen, to table service to the perfectly matched wines. ATRIUM The location and ambience of the Atrium was wonderful.

The Portsea Hotel was a nice Hotel to stay in and different to the big city hotels we had been used to. The room have been recently refurbished and were very clean and tidy. It had most things for our comfort. I would definitely recommend staying here if you can.

    Fabulous property even in winter.

Fabulous property even in winter. Great restaurant, pizzeria, bar. Undercover outdoor areas to enjoy a drink etc. views out over the water from our room were gorgeous also a private balcony with table and chairs was enjoyed. Walking to the beach, shops, pier, easy and close. Parking over the road from the venue although quite close. Would have preferred breakfast to be available and a toaster in the apartment perhaps, in addition or instead of a coffee machine. Will definitely visit again.

Beautiful views and location. If your looking for a relaxing getaway highly recommended staying at the Portsea golf club. The Brekky was delicious and they coffee was too ( they also use almond lab milk ) the staff are lovely and the rooms spacious. The bed was very comfortable also. A little dated could use a little freshen up however overall beautiful.

Portsea is a wonderful place to experience beach life in Victoria. Head to the pier and turn left - this is a great place to swim/snorkel. Check out Limani for coffee, the best spanakopita and cool vibes.

The wild coastal walks one side, and calm swimming beaches...

The wild coastal walks one side, and calm swimming beaches inside the bay (weather dependent of course). The amazing history (especially the quarantine station, and Cheviot Beach where Harold Holt disappeared) and stunning homes. Millionaires Walk a must, as is a dolphin swim. Revamped Portsea pub fabulous. The new Portsea lifesaving club is a credit to the community - huge building but well hidden in the landscape. And wow, those waves - what a seascape. Worth spending at least a few days at the Portsea Golf Club (Mercure) to explore.

Very very quiet location at night (maybe a little too quiet as there was basically no one there). Nice views overlooking the golf course. Basic clean accommodation which is what I paid for. Breakfast included was simple but nice. The waiter (young guy) in the restaurant who served me was lovely and attentive however he was the only one as all other staff members including reception treated me as an imposition for being there and requiring to be served.

The property was located in a quiet area of Portsea and still close to Sorrento. The house was spotless clean with all amenities needed. The beds were very comfortable. Fantastic for families or a couple. Open fireplace inside and a fire pit located outside. The host's communication was absolutely amazing. Thank you for having us stay. Totally recommend A++++++++ we will be back.

The house is huge, cosy and clean with a lot of amenities provided. Kelly ensured that the place is kids friendly, she even reached out way before the stay to find out the kids' age group in order to cater the necessities. She also provided us with additional heaters to make sure we are warm during the cold and rainy weather.

The location was excellent - great proximity to the beach and to all Portsea has to offer. The room was lovely, a little small if you are thinking of bringing your own food, but still made it work. The pool/tennis courts/gym facilities were all excellent!
