A beautiful catholic and very, very conservative-oriented city. Highly guarded by police. If you can't stand animals being trapped in cages, you should skip this town and save yourself from witnessing animals, like lions and tigers, kept in extreme captivity. At the time of my visit, the city was housing an exhibition on human torture. There is very little respect for pedestrians so be super careful when crossing the streets. The town will give you the chance to make great pictures for your social networks. The natural surroundings are really beautiful. I was only able to stay 2 nights as a solo traveler due to the situations exposed above. I felt relieved when I left and will never come back. Overall, people are friendly I must say. Catholic families should feel at home in this city, no doubt.

A beautiful pueblo mágico at 4000 feet elevation.
A beautiful pueblo mágico at 4000 feet elevation. Picturesque, lots of things to see and do. The Gamma Hotel de France is comfortable, in a beautiful setting with mountain views surrounding the hotel with gorgeous rooftop views. The restaurant serves excellent food including room service. We stay here at least once a year in our travels cross country.

A beautiful city surrounded by exuberating nature. The best coffee in Mexico is produced in that region which also offers rich traditions about food and culture. The downtown has a lot of old buildings to visit and the people are very friendly.

I would describe Orizaba as the Harrogate of Mexico.
I would describe Orizaba as the Harrogate of Mexico. Gorgeous place, well maintained, seemed quite gentile, and with the equivalent of Betty’s (though much cheaper) in the Palacio del Hierro. It’s frequented by domestic tourists, who are in the know that it’s a special place :)

Orizaba is a great city.
Orizaba is a great city. There is a lot to see but what we liked the most was the food. Most attractions in the city are free and food is very inexpensive and delicious. I would recommend to stay 3-4 days to get the best experience possible, eat, relax and explore the city.
I recommend eating at Rovianda Plus and downtown local cafes such as Palacio de Hierro.
Location is perfect for seeing Orizaba - Downtown - the building is new and beautifully decorated. Coffee shop is right next door - fabulous. Restaurants and sites to see all within walking distance. Pay for parking - right next door - so convenient! Very friendly staff - everyone very welcoming and helpful. The King bed is so comfortable as well as all the linens .... Rooftop terrace wonderful to enjoy a cup of coffee at sunrise or glass of wine at sunset. The church bells will ring - rise and shine. Enjoy your stay!
the staff is very helpful and friendly.
the room was a perfect size, i loved the shower!
the restaurant was open every day from 7 to 11, their food is delicious and affordable
the roof top has a very nice view of the city and the mountains, a bonus was to find out that their swimming pool is heated and open also until 11 pm
this Hotel was more that what i expected
A nice hotel well located: a couple minutes walk fro ADO bus station and some 5-7 minutes walk to Palacio de Hierro. The area is safe. I had an an interior room and it was very quiet, I didn't hear any noise from te street. I liked friendly and helpful.. staff. My room was nice and clean, TV, AC, wi-fi worked well, I had no problem with water or light.
The hostel was great, booked 1 night, but stayed 3. I loved the warm welcome by the owners, Maria and Fernando. It felt that we know each other already. Nice conversation around the table. I learned a lot of new things in Spanish. Come and stay here while visiting orizaba. Good location, close to town. I enjoyed my stay. Thank you.
Daniela :)
The hosts are super adorable and welcoming. They chat with everyone like they were part of the family and spend time to get to know the travelers. The beds are comfortable. Nice view from the rooftop. There is a big Soriana (supermarket) at about 7min walk and a small mercado at 2min. I will go back there if I return to Orizaba one day!
A modern, clean, comfortable hotel, close to a park and a five minutes walk to the centre of town, cable car and river walk. The staff were all friendly and efficient. If coming by bus, there are two stations which are reachable on foot. I extended my stay. Recommended.
Great location. Loved being close to the river, lovely river walk with numerous bridges. Enjoyed
seeing the free zoo. The animals looked well taken care of. Easy walk also to the cablecar along the river. Nothing to complain about our stay at the hotel.
The hotel is located right in the center so that all the sightseeings of the town can be reached by just walking. My family and I really enjoyed our stay there, heated swimming pool with illumination, friendly and caring hotel staff, a nice and cozy gym.
The host is so sweet! Loved our stay here! Room is spacious, located near a park and walking distance to the main center. Shower has hot and cold water and the wifi is strong. If you’re going to Orizaba this is a great place to stay!
The staff at the hotel are just so kind and attentive, the hotel is in the center so main attractions are near so you might walk, good accommodations, it's comfortable, I would come back for sure.
