I came here specifically to visit the Thuringian State Archives, located in the castle overlooking the town. It's a beautiful place with gorgeous view of the town and its surrounding. It is possible to visit other parts of the castle and palace as well.
There is a nice theater and a symphony orchestra in the town, too. Other than that, and a couple of restaurants, there's not much to do here. If you come as tourists, I'd recommend perhaps a day visit en route Jena or Weimar.
The hotel is right downtown and the room had a nice homey feel to it. The room was adequate for one person but could have used a chair or somewhere to sit besides the bed. The heat worked well during the cold temps too (-14 outside). All the bathroom fixtures were in good repair. Overall the place has a faded glory vibe - it's all very pretty to look at, but could use a bit of updating.
A small hotel in the middle of the city, still quiet, with onsite free parking.
The hotel is in an old historic city building with spacious rooms and lots of flair.
Hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
An Italian Restaurant is right at/next to the hotel with delicious food served till late night.
Hotel Adler has the Charme of a historic building which was renovated in simple style but with attention to detail by the owners. The rooms are bigger than usual hotel rooms and show nice elements of the history of the building.
Friendly hotel staff. Nice athmosphere right in the middle of town with a view to "Heidecksburg". Free on site parking for hotel guest. The rooms are big enough and are decorated in the style of the historic building.
Due to the Corona-restrictions the breakfast was served to the table, but that wasn't a problem as you get plenty. The hotel itself is dated but it is being worked on (not noisy but you can see it on certain corners)
Perfec location!
The hotel is located right in the city center, no more than ten minutes from Heidecksburg Palace and no more than 5 minutes from all the sights of the historic center of Rudolstadt.
A lovely quaint hotel in the centre of a lovely town. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and accommodating and did everything they could to secure a room during a busy time for them.
