As a family-run hotel, the service was personal and attentive. The location was absolutely perfect - the bigger and more expensive hotels are further away from the mountain and offer no view of it, and while they offer shuttle services up, the short walk to the mountain is a great experience in and of itself. The owner helped us book a shuttle from the train station to the hotel as well. The rooms were recently renovated when we stayed, with a nice shower stall (which was necessary after the mountain climbing!) and comfortable beds. All amenities one would generally need are included. While there is no elevator, there are only a few floors and the owner carries the luggage up. For the price, an excellent choice.

Sunny has been an amazing host! She managed everything for us in Huangshan and helped us a lot during our first days in China as non-Chinese speakers - she even booked trains for us anticipating the cost. The hotel is beautiful and we also got some delicious tea her husband produces. My stay was excellent! The owner and the two guys at the reception (who all speak Enhlish well) were really nice and went above and beyond normal customer service. They are really keen on ensuring everything is perfect and that you enjoy your stay. They even shared their WeChat so one could communicate in case of any issues or if you just needed general advice about Tangkou or Huangshan.Any issues I had were resolved promptly. I was there to hike Huangshan mountains, and they gave me all the necessary tips and assistance to ensure an enjoyable hike. The common areas also have a nice atmosphere. The location itself is beautiful with plenty of restaurants and beautiful sights. It is also walkable to and from the bus transfer service to the cable way. The owner can link you up with direct shared transport to/from Huangshan North railway station. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

If you would stay in Huangshang definitely book this place. Owner and his family were so helpful and hospitable - they consulted us about local places and helped us with everything - tickets (with a hotel discount), taxy, transfer from and to a railway station. The place itself located in a nice valley walking distance from a popular tourists destination. Designs of the rooms are minimalistic and beautiful. For the breakfast we had various options to choose from. We glad we chose this place! The place with a soul! Definitely 10 out of 10.

The host is super nice and has an answer for all your questions. The food in the Hotel is also very tasty, the head staff is also a great tea lover just try the different teas, they taste very good. They will drive you to the starting point of the national park and will also give you some helpful tips. Overall we had a very very nice stay. Thank you for having us.

I received a very warm welcome here, although we were communicating through a translation app as I don't speak Mandarin and they don't speak English! The owner and her husband were very friendly and hospitable. My room was large and comfortable with a really really good shower. Breakfast was very Chinese but good - and adapted on day 2 as day 1's rice porridge wasn't really to my taste. Location-wise, it's less than 5 minutes' walk to the West Gate bus station and less than 10 to Hongcun village proper. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

I liked the friendlyness of the host and his eagerness to help. Also, he spoke English so communication was no problem. The interior of the apartment is really nice and traditional. In less than 10 minutes slow walking I was able to get to the Ancient town. PS: the ticket to the ancient town is valid for 3 days
