As what most other travellers have commented the rooms are very clean and minimalistic decor. The breakfast has a wide spread from comforting warm porridge which we appreciated to the usual western type breakfast. But above it all it’s the personal touch of the staff here that makes it a pleasant stay from the warm energetic greetings of the staffs ( 2,3,11,17) to the handwritten welcome messages along w WIFI password are little touches and clear instructions for airport transfers differentiate them from the usual business or travel hotels. There are hourly bus shuttle to and from Pudong Airport the instructions they gave along w photos are extremely detailed so you won’t miss the bus when you arrive at the airport . If you intend to visit Disneyland they have shuttle bus there and back as well (once a day)

Fantastic location by the river and nice view. we had 2 superior double rooms, excellent size, absolutely comfortable big sized bed, very clean bed linen and towels. They change towels every day, There is a free water available every day and small useful things like tooth brush, paste, tea available 24/7 from reception. Shower gel , shampoo and milk available in the bathroom. They have food delivery robot, it was funny, we liked watching it. Like everywhere reception doesn't speak free English, but I repeat it is everywhere - just use translator.
And unlike everywhere reception is helpful. N.B. there is a laundry 24/7 - 1 wash around 1 eur , drying the same, very convenient. you can pay only with alipay, if you don't have it - ask reception - they will pay for you and you will pay to hotel your normal way visa/cash. You can open windows - but not fully. Lobby has a nice scient - thank you! Breakfast, if you come early - is very rich, absolutely worth to pay for in advance.

A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernising at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and offers fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.
This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.
With a choice of shopping centres and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.
Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.
Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.

It is a unique city, and Bund area is excellent.
It is a unique city, and Bund area is excellent. Unusual buildings to visit and see. I felt very safe there. If you want clothes made go to the South Bund Fabric Market, 3991 Lujiabang Road, 1F 198#....try mobile number 13917936395 ......she was terrific and made and delivered my clothes on time. Well made and a wide range of fabrics. The fabric market is a large place with heaps of fabrics and clothes can be made in a day or two. Lots of tailors on hand to check out. Bargain hard.

Buzzing city, hyper modern and a lot of things to do and see. Also nice restaurants. And most important; very friendly people. Say 'Hello' or give a smile and you'll get a warm hello or smile back. Shanghai has two faces, the one in the daytime and the one in the nighttime when all building are enchantingly lit (The Bund).
The room is big and comfortable. Good shuttle bus service to and from the hotel, although the messages can be clearer about where to get on the bus from the airport. We went to the gate 25 on arrival floor and had to mess around at the airport to find the bus that was outside the departure hall. Overall I recommend the hotel if you need to catch an early flight the next day. If you have time to visit Shanghai then this is not for you as it takes 2 hours to get to the city centre.
As a Shanghainese, this time was my first time staying there. It surprised me. Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai is very famous for its food, butter cookies & service. The room is super clean, detailed and comfortable. If you want to know more about Shanghai, traditional/ modern. it’s definitely among the best hotels in Shanghai. The location is perfect, the metro is nearby. I am super impressed. Also, thank you Miss Li Hua Feng 李化凤(receptionist) for the professional service.
Had an amazing night stay in a Fabulous room overlooking the incredible Shanghai skyline.
The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. Alex the Guest Experience Manger greeted us on arrival and really made us feel welcome.
The whole team really did their best to make it a wonderful stay and of all the hotels I’ve stayed at in Shanghai it was the staff that really went above and beyond compared to other properties.
5 stars!
Oh wow, what didn't I like??? This was honestly one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The staff goes above and beyond at every oppurtunity, treating everyone like royalty. The rooms were immaculate. The in-room dining was DELICIOUS, the BEST I've had at any hotel and I have *LIVED* in 8 countries. The building decor is stunning. If you need anything, someone is there 24/7 with an eager spirit to help!
Special thanks to 010 Mrs. Chen and 022 Mr. Gong for saving us after we arrived too late to catch the shuttle bus to Pudong Airport. We were brought to the airport with separate airport. This was truly stellar service!! The hotel is very need, the room is quite, the bathroom clean and the bed very comfortable. Also the breakfast leaves nothing to complain. This hotel is highly recommendable!
In terms of location this is as good as it gets in Shanghai. Metro access under 2 minute walk. Direct access to Nanjing road, short distance to people square and tons of places. The rooms are comfortable although not very big. The breakfast is the best I have had in China and is well worth that of a high-end 5 star hotel. Bath and shower have strong water pressure and instant hot water.
This is the best place to stay for anyone going to the Convention Centre next door. Was easily able to go back and forth from Hall 6. Large rooms, great breakfast and helpful staff. 5 mins from HongQiao airport, so your trip after a long flight is super quick and not subject to Shanghai traffic jams. A few restaurants around the hotel and some decent little coffee shops!
The hotel is in a good location and we have been there several times before when we lived in Shanghai. We booked the hotel as we were arriving Christmas Day and we wanted to have the Christmas Day Brunch and then spend the night. Unfortunately our plan was delayed and we missed the brunch! However, we enjoyed an afternoon stroll on the Bund and up Nanjing Rd.
In my experience rarely does a 5 Star hotel exceed expectations. The Waldorf is truly an exceptional hotel and manages to deliver an experience that matches its renowned history. The panoramic river views are second to none, service and food are outstanding and the staff go the extra mile. When we return to Shanghai we will not consider any other hotel.
The best part of this hotel was the very on time bus service which is in fact very important for the people new to Shanghai airport. It was also close to the airport. In fact the facilities were not as I was expecting based on the reviews. The value vas really good for the stay.
Definitely the Bed and the room. So comfortable. I can sleep all day. Location is in Pudong but subway train is around 10 mins walking. Shopping centre across the hotel. The shuttle bus to Disneyland and Airport are very convenient. They have a timetable next to the reception
The location is very good and we got free shuttle to PUDong airport in 15 minutes. Liu Ping is very nice and helped us free upgrade our room. The driver Li shi fu liked help us loading our luggages. The room is super clean and this hotel is definitely recommended .
Location is great, almost the city center, the price is also good for Shanghai. Rooms are quite clean and comfortable, fridge and hairdryer are available
The hotel is very clean comparing to other hotels in Shanghai
This hotel is one of the new hotels in qingpu , good value for money , it’s cheap compare to other 5 star hotels in shanghai . There is a river side walk and some bars behind the hotel . Breakfast very good .
