Very beautiful location with a perfect view of the mountains.
A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining.
A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining. The "Salzbergwerk Dürrnberg" is much much more interesting, than the overfamous "Salzbergwerk Hallstatt". Celtic Museum in Hallein ist really of value. The town itself has a very limited number of places to dine. Decent train connection to Salzburg, savin You a lot of money and a most boring view of Salzburg after 5 p.m.

Didn't really get to see Hallein except from driving through it. Looks a nice place. Where we were was right next to a river running off the mountains with easy access.
Nice walk to the university and a house full of cockerels.
Golf course extremely near by if that's your thing.

Well placed provided you drive there yourself.
Well placed provided you drive there yourself. The Salt mine (Salzwelten) sight is near by, as well as a golf course, I think. Also Bechtesgaden, Germany is less than 1/2 an hour away (where there a lot to do, perhaps cheaper too). Also, Salzburg, of course!
great to have family room with twin beds. very clean. good, hot shower, nice selection of meats, cheeses, cakes and breads along with cereals, yogurt and fruit salad for breakfast. awesome location nestled at foothills of mountains. pretty little town. definitely recommend a stay here especially as they provide travel card to get to old town Salzburg by train in 30 minutes, three minutes walk to station and trains run every hour. it’s not modernised, but very charming.
Beautiful renovation of a very old building. It had everything we need. The location in old town Hallein is walkable to groceries, shopping, restaurants and central to our as activities and excursions to Eagle’s Nest, Königssee, Ice caves and Werfen for the castle and falconry show. We loved the terrace apartment and the combination of the terrace apartment and a first floor fit our group very comfortably. Parking is available to drop off luggage and groceries.

This is a small, family run hotel. The historic building is very charming, and everything is renovated with taste, and in good condition. The room was even more spacious than I expected, and very clear. The position is very good as well, near to the center of Salzburg, and they have a free parking area which was very important for us. The breakfast (additional cost) was quite rich. The lady at the front desk is most kind.
Everything was fine. The breakfast was simple but nice enough. The room was quite spacious. Due to the structure of the building, we could hear noises from the kitchen downstairs. Washing dishes noises and preparation noises woke me up every morning. The staffs were great and provided us lots of travel information.
The Pizza place near the hotel was not as good as others. choose wisely.
Location in the old city, practical with parking about 500 meters from Hotel for 6€/day or 50 meters away 10€/ day.
Access uncomplicated with self-check in.
If you want to visit Berchtesgaden or Germany, have to cross a small pass.
Newly renovated rooms, simple but stylish. I really liked the clean look.
During our 5 days what we spent there, everything was great. The hospitality is top. The room fulfills everything that it needs, it is comfy, tidy and the view is breathtaking! To be in silent isolated apartment ,yet Hallein is easily accessable this apartment is a top choice.
Friendly and helpful staff, cheap public parking is available nearby (3-5 minutes walking), hotel is located on a quiet location near Hallein city center, good wifi. You can easily go to Salzburg city center by train, train station is cca 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
The stay at the property was awesome! It is a well-renovated old building and the apartment was big and clean. The kitchen is more than capable of cooking. We really liked the place and we are happy that we choose Hallein and this residence.
A restaurant in the hotel and nice breakfast. Since we came in the evening, we foud out that they have a family restaurant in the house, which was very convenient, because the children were hungry and needed something to eat.
Property is family owned and operated. We felt like guest at a friends house. Breakfast was amazing and delicious! Location was perfect. Not far from restaurants and Salzburg. We also enjoyed
