This modern 4-star hotel enjoys a quiet location in the Old Town of Linz, just steps away from the Mariendom Cathedral. Free WiFi is available.

Hotel is situated in a quiet neigbourhood. There is a parking behind the hotel (cost €11/night). Very good breakfast. The hotel was quiet when we were there, not so much activity. It's only 5 min walk to the city center and therefore I would stay again. Rooms are okay, maybe a little outdated, but good for a night.

FAQs about hotels in Linz

Vibrant Cultural Hub with Steely Dedication

Surrounded by lush mountains, Linz is on the Danube River, and although known for industry, has become a vibrant cultural hub. It was an important centre of the Holy Roman Empire and Emperor Friedrich III lived in the castle.

The old town centres on Main Square, site of the Christmas market and elaborate Trinity Column. St Martin’s Church is Austria’s oldest, and the largest is the new cathedral, much more elaborate than the old cathedral. On the surrounding streets are shops, restaurants and much of Booking.com’s Linz accommodation, including luxury city centre hotels and cheap guest houses near the train station.

A riverside park contains the Lentos modern art museum, colourfully lit at night. The excellent arts scene also encompasses the Linzer Landestheater, Brucknerhaus concert hall and the Ars Electronica Center which hosts its own festival.

The Design Center Linz event venue is near the industrial powerhouse – the Voestalpine steelworks, whose tour showcases the factory once supervised by Hermann Göring. A more chilling World War II reminder is Mauthausen concentration camp to the south-east.

Across the river are Johannes Kepler University and Pöstlingberg mountain, ascended by a tram that passes the zoo. At the top are a viewing platform, church and the children’s Grotto Railway, and south-west is Linz Blue Danube Airport.

Linz is an industrial town but has made a supreme effort to transform into a modern, smart city. It hosts many festivals, including the famous Ars Electronika in September. The tourist information is fine, although check if your festival badge includes free transportation for the duration of your stay. I paid for a Linz card, but I didn't really need it unless you take the Postlingberg tram to the nearby mountain.

    I had a beautiful time.

I had a beautiful time. It remains a family favourite destination. In particular, my recently deceased mother loved to visit Linz as a child with her Austrian side of the family. My Hungarian parents met in Australia 65 years ago, were 62 years married, and regularly praised the dog friendly eateries in Linz. My second visit and I share their view. Hope to return. x😇😘+

Great location for a stop over trip when traveling through Austria - lovely old town with good bars and restaurants. Lovely riverside park and walks. Town Lido is a great place to cool off on a hot day - suitable for all. The complex has 2 kids pools, a 50m lane pool, a diving pool and 50m+ adult pool.

A very nice city, not as busy as Vienna or Salzburg, but we really liked it here. I recommend visiting the cathedral, it is very beautiful. Other main attractions were also interesting, especially seeing the Ars Electronica Center at night. I also recommend taking the tram to Pöstlingberg, there are nice views of the whole city. As a restaurant, I recommend the typically Austrian Stiegl-Klosterhof. They cook excellently here and we also had a nice chat with the staff.

Linz is an industrial city, but has a beautiful old and cozy center. You won't find mass tourism, but this city on the Danube is quite interesting with some nice locations, such as the Hauptplatz and the riverside promenade. There is a very nice museum, Lentos, with an interesting collection including Schiele and Kokoschka.

The hotel is in the vicinity of the Old Town with a lot restaurants and cafés around. Great place for working, you can use their internet café. Breakfasts are plentiful and I recommend buying them as it is hard to get a breakfast or brunch place in Linz on weekends. Every café is fully booked. Most of main attractions are close to the hotel. Ask for a room on the highest floor with a balcony and you will get a fantastic view of Mariendom.

Spacious, very clean, friendly staff, quiet and relaxed environment, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in the room (becoming more common in Austria but not yet standard) superb location in central Linz. Breakfast buffet feels expensive, but good quality, good selection, quiet breakfast room the two days I ate breakfast there, well organized, buffet checked repeatedly by staff to make sure that everything was available.

Very clean and modern. Rooms are a little small but very efficient. Breakfast excellent and was free. Staff very helpful. Recommended a good restaurant in walking distance. Parking is in a garage but if you go to the bottom of the garage there is an entrance right into the hotel. You have to drive around a bit to find the correct entrance because several hotels have entrances from same garage.

The room size was amazing. Two bathrooms and a large comfortable bed, 2 tv's was great and I loved the view from the balcony in the Junior Suite. Located close to a park and public transport. Used Linz as a hub to get to Mauthausen Concentration Camp and Cesky Krumlov. The facilities and breakfast at the hotel were second to none and will stay here again the next time I pass through Linz.

Very good stay! Was a bit confusing at arrival - no one at reception at 8pm, but nice lady in restaurant floor down explained me that there is envelope with key. Next morning still no one at reception but note to drop keys in the box. Otherwise perfect very new hotel or rather seminar center with hotel, with big parking very quiet on the top of the hill above Linz. We will come again!

The room was spacey and really modern. The location is great too. And the price was also good compared to other hotels in Linz. I read some people were annoyed by noise from outside. As I was living in central part of Linz before, I think it’s because of weekend. For my stay on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, both nights were quiet and I could sleep well.

We picked this hotel for our stop in Linz while on a multi day bike ride. It was just off the Danube bike path and gave easy access to most of the Linz highlights. It seems to be a relatively new hotel and it made for a comfortable stay. They had a very secure bike lockup that we were able to use. Linz has been one of our favourite stops.
