A nice area, clean and well kept. Easy transport links into the city and to other nearby towns.
Enjoyed a visit to the windmill area, which was a cultural experience, lots to do.
Found eating a task, only because we wanted more traditional, national food, which we found hard to come by.

The Russian Tzar House is a must visit.
The Russian Tzar House is a must visit. It is the oldest house in Netherlands, preserved in very good conditions. You will learn a lot. The Zaan Museum also. The Zaanse Schans it is for one whole day or two days visit. A lot of museums. It is very nice. And if it is good wind you are going to smell only chocolate in the air. The bakery just in front of the bridge is having the most delicious patisserie. The restaurants around have great food, nice personnel.

There's a lovely canal with shops & restaurants on either side. You have a choice of fast food, healthier options or traditional Dutch dishes. The area is quiet at night, when the day trippers have left. It's a pretty town with interesting architectural styles. It was my first visit & I will be back. It's easy to travel by train to Amsterdam & other destinations & trains are fairly frequent. My hotel was within easy walking distance of the station & the shops mentioned above. The Albert Heijn supermarket is open 7 days a week until 10pm.
I loved our stay at this hotel! The location is superb, just a quick train ride to Amsterdam Centraal station and within walking distance from Zaandam station. The room offered a beautiful view, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and quiet—a perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The check-in and check-out process was breezy, and the facilities were clean. Additionally, the hotel's accessibility to Schiphol airport, just about 40 minutes away via train, adds to its convenience. Highly recommended!
I stayed for 6 nights with my family of 2 kids. The cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, full equipped kitchen, living room with TV and audio. Demian and Agata live next door, easy to get connected in case needed. My kids are big fan of the cottage. Location wise is very good, 2 stops away from Amsterdam Centraal by Intercity or Sprinter. Zaandam itself is a very good neighbourhood to bring kids. Close to Dekamart, Albert Heijn and Zaandam city center. Our stay in Holland has been memorable!
Very close to Zaandam train station (less than 5 minutes ' walk).
Train takes 12 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal.
Trains every 10 minutes until around midnight.
Supermarket 2 minutes' walk away.
Cinema & local eat-in food places very near.
Ten minute walk to local bars.
Floors 8 - 11 are the hotel. Many & speedy lifts to floors.
Great views.
Great that room is not cleaned during stay, so can lie in if wanted.
TV with decent selection of Dutch & English channels.
Shower was great.
The staff, notably Kelly was wonderful and hospitability during my stay. She was quite funny too. For the last minute booking, the price and hotel amenities were excellent! I also really appreciated the all you can eat continental breakfast the hotel provided for a reasonable 9 euros. The breakfast consisted of various spreads, pastries, bread, boiled egg, cereal, juices, coffee, teas and slice meats. I'm very happy with my stay at B&B Zaandam.
Zaandam station is just 2 stops away from Amsterdam Central station. Hotel is just right outside the station and its really convenient. Primark and mc donalds are also next to hotel along with other food places to eat. Be sure to check out Zaanse Schans for it is also 2 stops away from Zaandam station. Room was comfortable and bed was a tad soft but still good.
Excellent location! It's very convenient staying at Zaan Hotel. Being very close to Amsterdam (10-minute train ride to Amsterdam) makes it an excellent choice to relax and recharge in after a day of exploring. They clean your room every day and provide clean towels even when not requested. Beautiful hotel lobby. Room is huge.
This is an excellent hotel. Beautifully decorated, clean and modern, well-located (short pleasant walk from Zaandam station). Managers are super kind to not just customers but also their own staff which is always good to see. Good breakfast selection too. This is our top choice when visiting Amsterdam
The staff was very kind and professional. The location was awesome. There were a lot of bars and restaurants nearby that we could walk to. The train station was our main use of transportation and it helped that it was close to the hotel especially after a long day of walking.
Much cheaper alternative than staying in Amsterdam, Zaandam is quite a nice town and only 2 stops on the train from central Amsterdam. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very nice. Hotel is next to some nice cafes and restaurants and a nice shopping centre.
Super easy links to bus and metro to travel into Amsterdam and beyond. The reception staff were really polite and cheerful. A big thank you to the housekeeping team - our room on arrival was immaculate! I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
Zaandam is a lovely, quiet neighborhood, family friendly. Close to Amsterdam by train and to Zaanse Sachs to see the windmills.
We could leave our bags at the hotel, after checkout, with no additional charge.
The hotel is in a good location, Zaandam has lots of shops and restaurants and the train is super close to take you into Amsterdam central.
The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were shocking
The location is super...just walking by to the town centre which is the main attraction of Zaandam. We didn't take the breakfast because there are a lot of choices around the hotel that we tried some
The hotel is very clean, our receptionists in the lobby are very friendly and nice. We also got an upgrade which is great. I definitely want to stay again in this hotel, and highly recommend it.
The Location of the Hotel is very close to the train station..around the hotel are the shopping stores..coffee shops..restaurants..market and etc..
Very friendly and polite people ..
