This boutique guest house is fantastic, located in front of the Samabe lake. This is such a peaceful, relaxing and quiet environment. A real paradise for all nature lovers - located just a few minutes away from Dambulla center. For now, there are only 2 cottages in the property. So basically the stay is very private (no noise around). The cottage size is very good with a terrace from where you can enjoy the view of the lake. The personnel is very friendly - and insisted to invite me for a lovely boat tour on the lake for free. Surprisingly there was no mosquito in the cottage whereas we could think that there might be due to the proximity of the lake. The WiFi was working very fine. All was perfect. From this place, i did visit Dambulla (e.g Golden temple) and its surroundings- up to Habarana for a half a day safari (mainly elephants spotted) in the national park of Minneriya/Eco lodge. Spent 2 wonderful nights …and wish I would have more time to stay more !

All the sites were wonderful - Sigiriya (the rock), Dambulla Caves (Amazing - especially cave #2), Polonnaruwa (Ancient City), Elephant Safari saw 40 to 50 elephants - Mothers and their children on a ridge at the very end of the safari! It was a great day to be able to see that many in the game reserve all together. I would spend minimum 3 but really 4 nights up here as the travel day really doesn't count because you aren't running out to see anything until the next day, so this way you have 3 full days to see all the sites and it isn't rushed. Also, you go out early in the morning as it gets too bloody hot in the middle of the day.

Dambulla is a great place to explore, especially if you are a nature lover. Lots of greenery is preserved amidst the cave temples. Frescos at the Dambulla cave temple are amazingly beautiful. Inside the caves are cold though the outside temperature is steaming hot in the summer.
Sigiriya rock is another attraction near Dambulla. It will take a half a day tour to climb up and down but if you want to explore more, the area surrounding the Sigiriya rock garden is vast and can wonder around the rock garden and historical ruins for hours. Good for hikers.
Ibbankatuwa ancient grave yard, Pidurangala (A rock with nice view at the top, situated parallel to Sigiriya Rock are some of other nearby attractions.

First of all we would like to thank the owner and the management for giving us the opportunity to stay at this beautiful resort.
Colin and Ajit did a wonderful job of looking after us
They are hard working, sincere and committed in their work.
Few things that need to be sorted out were the overgrown creeper in the front which is preventing sunlight from entering the front of the house.
Lighting in the room and bathroom need to be brighter. A stronger Wi-Fi would be welcome
Overall an enjoyable stay
Hope to visit again
Regards
Mr Laxmann (Manager) is a kind helpful person who managed everything on time and make us comfortable and is also fluent in English . I was with my wife for a trip to Sigriya and choose to stay at Dambulla esp near to main bus stop and in Centre so we choose Milano grand hotel
And it was a good choice
Property was neat and clean with big rooms bathroom and lobby area, breakfast was really good
We recommend you to stay here
We had an absolute brilliant stay! The room and surrounding is great, location to Dambulla caves are walking distance (5 min away). The host family is just amazing! Really feels like they give more that 100% to the place - so many great details in the room and the place. We also had an amazing rice and curry for dinner and also got it vegan which was awesome!
Overall one of the best stays in Sri Lanka!
The best part of this hotel was the people working in it. They were very friendly and helpful, always being there if you needed them, even though they could not solve all the issues on the spot, but that is not their fault.
The tours they gave us were really good, we loved them, Tilly was a great guide.
Breakfast was also very good, it consisted of tea, omelette, fruits and Sri Lankan pancake.
A special place off the beathen paths - great to learn and experience the rural sides of Sri Lanka. Pradeep is such a welcoming host and shares stories about his life and culture. You can visit the fields around and even take a swim in the river. 2 nights were nearly not enough time. Traveling to Dambulla or Sigirya is quite easy and Pradeep helps with any need. We'll come back!
The location is perfect. Directly in the centre of Dambulla, but you do not hear the noise from the street at all.
I really liked the approach of the owner, who gave us useful tips, provided us with his scooter and helped us with the doctor appointment, as one of our family members got sick and needed medicine. The hospitality of the owner was just perfect.
My stay at Lake Island Home Stay in Dambulla was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived until the day I reluctantly departed, I was immersed in a paradise of tranquility and natural beauty. This charming homestay is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Sri Lankan experience like no other.
We stayed one night to visit the cave temple early in the morning. The Dambulla Shan Inn is just a few walking minutes away, so we enjoyed the cave tenple almost alone :) The room was clean, breakfast was really good and the owner was super nice and helpful. Absolutely recommended!
It is very close to Dambulla town but the environment is very quiet and peaceful. Facility was clean and well maintained. Definitely a fun place to stay for singles and couples. The owner of the place was very helpful and tried to make it your best stay. Great value for the money.
Very convenient location for Dambulla. 100m from tuk tuk and scooter rental. Sri Lankan breakfast was really enjoyable, usually much more than we could eat. The owner was very helpful and made sure we got our bus for the next stage of our journey.
everything was amazing we had such a great time! staff were very helpful and attentive. prices of food and drinks on the menu was cheap and lots of options. hotel was clean and beautiful. thank you for an amazing stay!
Very nice rooms open on a beautiful garden. Very quiet place even if close to the road. It’s possible to walk easily to Dambulla temple. The breakfast was delicious and typical from Sri Lanka.
This is a beautiful, new hotel with great food and friendly staff! The stay was quiet, clean and a great location. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Sri Lanka
The hotel is very clean and has all the amenities. The room had an AC along with hot and cold running water. The food was also great, really enjoyed the Chinese fried rice from the Chef.
Hotel is in good location, rooms very clean, staff very helpfull (they drove us to Dambulla caves, to Sigiriya, to supermarket, bakery, everywhere we wanted). Best hotel in Sri Lanka
Its a small hotel conveniently located near the Dambulla rock temple. Its just few minutes away from the temple and the town. Good hotel for a budget traveller for a small stop.
the location and facilities are amazing, very well-maintained hotel in the middle of the nature.
The dinner and breakfast were so delicious with big variety of food and drinks.
Amazing hotel, one of the best in Sri Lanka ❤️Modern, clean, beautiful. Beautiful area inside. Tasty buffet dinner for 3800 LKR / person. Really long and clean swimming pool.
The hospitality of the owners was superb. The breakfast was mindblowing. We enjoyed staying there. We would highly recommend anyone visiting Dambulla to stay there.
