Great location, in the heart of Onomichi! Short walking distance to convenience stores, ramen restaurants and the famous Onomichi walking/shopping mall.
The staff were very kind and helpful, providing maps and places to rent bikes for the Shimanami Kaido.
The room was cosy, had Japanese TV and the beds were clean and comfortable.
I also enjoyed the humidifier/air purifier.
Great place to stay for people wanting to go cycling or try the famous Onomichi Ramen!

The breakfast was 2 pieces of bread, 2 pats of butter, and jam. and a toaster. There was a coffee maker. I would not call this a bed a breakfast.

You can't beat this place on location full stop. You tap your IC card at the station and the stairs/elevator are right there to the hotel on the floor above. Don't worry about noise we could see down the station platform from our room and never heard a train. Once you do leave the hotel there are food, bike hire and ferry within a few 100m of the hotel. Sad we only had the one night.
Staff were amazing. Private onsen/hot bath was great.

Everything!! So so stylish and beautiful, but also so comfortable. The bed was amazing and we had a stunning view of the water. We didn’t end up being able to do the shimanami kaido but this would be a great spot to stop halfway for the night. The staff were absolutely fabulous and helpful. The food from the restaurant downstairs was incredible

Quaint little town - lots of small, independent shops.
Quaint little town - lots of small, independent shops. Feels like you are stepping back in time. Everyone we met was very friendly. Perfect base for starting the Shimanino cycle ride across nearby islands. Good bike hire at docks.

Onomichi is easily one of the best places I've ever been to. There is so much beautiful scenery and so many hidden gems to enjoy. The people are marvelous and the food is amazing. And of course the great many cats to be seen make for a truly magical experience

My favourite place is the observation deck on the top of the mountain, which has a great view. You can take beautiful pictures of this city. For food, Onomichi Ramen is fatty for me, but there are other restaurants in city which have their own specialties. A city walk is recommended, since there are a lot of temples on the mountain, and you need to get there on foot, and explore their beauty. I will prepare a better shoes for the next trip and bring less item with me next time, because the tour on in the city requires a lot of physical strength.

For many Onomichi is the start of the Shimanami Kaido cycle route, but Onomichi has enough attractions that it is worth staying at least one day to look around. The Temple Walk is worth viewing the 25 temples along the route and the view from the top is great, and Cat Alley is great fun. A walk along the pier and having a snack or meal at one of the restaurants there is pleasant.

Onomichi is a nice seaside, port town and has a good vibe.
Onomichi is a nice seaside, port town and has a good vibe. Its the start, or end, of the Shimanami Kaido and attracts many people keen to do this cycling route. The town has a nice atmosphere as the people are friendly, helpful and accommodating. If I was keen I'd stay an extra day amd do the temple walking route as it seemed nice and went into the hills above town. Local ramen was demand served by super friendly hosts in the restaurants.

If you want to cycle the Shimanami Kaidou, be s7re to arrive early in Onomichi, since you are able to visit the main attractions, being Senkou-ji and the old temple course, in a few hours. After this you should be able to start cycling the Shimanami Kaidou.
Beautiful architecture in a fabulous location. Was the perfect place to stop over when doing the shimanami-Kaido (from the north, starting in Onomichi). The restaurant was also really cool. Huge 10/10 to all the staff - I speak Japanese but none of my family do, and honestly wasn’t expecting everyone to have such amazing English this far off the main tourist circuit here in Japan. Lots of really friendly little interactions!
Amazing old japanese house. The rooms are traditional with tatami mats, futong beds and sliding doors. Visting this place is a true experience in traditional Japanese culture. The location is also beautiful on top of a hill with the most beautiful over Onomichi. It's also very close to the station, restaurants and the starting point of the biking trail.
We had a very comfortable and spacious room with a much appreciated Japanese style. The room was quiet with good beds. The onsen was very modern, tastefully decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located right on the Shimanami Kaido cycling route. The included breakfast at a nearby restaurant was delicious!
This was probably one of my favorite places to stay in Japan for solo travelling.
Everyone was so nice and since I stayed for quite a few nights I got to talk and get to know the different staff and people staying there. I hope I get to go again, Onomichi was really fun to visit and my stay here only made it better!
Very good location not far from station and bicycle hire. It is almost possible to walk undercover to hotel along arcade from station. Late check out, bags can be stored before check in. Large space in Sea view room. Cheaper than most places in Onomichi ( certainly those close to station ).
This hotel is well located, being in walking distance from the train station and ferries. One of the front desk staff was extremely helpful, even stepping away from the desk for a few moments to guide my wife to a nearby shop where she could buy some snacks for our upcoming train trip.
Coolest spacious room with big bathrooms. The hotel is an experience in itself. Very convenient for the shimanami kaido cycling route experience. Rented Giant bicycles at store located at hotel. Ferry to first island is a few meters away. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!
Good location, right in the heart of Onomichi - although there isn't much to see and do there. Hiro the owner was very nice and welcoming. He even cooked a huge pot of nabe for all the guests and we split the bill. A delicious and cheap way to spend the evening!
Close to everything for the cycling route. Walkable to groceries, some restaurants and the train station. Kitchen was nice to make a western style breakfast. Washer worked well. This is always my first choice for Onomichi. Planning to return again.
The view was spectacular from our private room. The area is fantastic and totally worth the climb. We had a great time exploring the shrine above the guest house. In general it’s situated on beautiful grounds and there’s so much to explore in Onomichi.
Excellent location for family riding bikes on Shimanami Kaido. Small but comfortable room with bunk style beds. Shared bathroom but ok as only 3 rooms. Host very helpful. Not a traditional hotel but very good for our requirements (family of 4).
The cleanliness of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff, and the location (very close to the station, right on the water and close to restaurants/shops) all exceeded my expectations. Perfect for my short stay in Onomichi to do a bike tour.
The location is great, which is 3min walk from the Onomichi Station. The scenery Sea View Room is fine, but there is a shipyard across the sea, and it is not that good-looking. The bed here is fairly large compared to other hotels in Japan.
Very convenient - right across the street from the Onomichi train station. And if you get a harbor view room, the view is spectacular. The room was a good size. Also, breakfast buffet was wonderful. staff was friendly and helpful.
Clean, comfortable and cute! The location is full of snack bars and karaoke spots. It was around a 20 minute walk to the Onomichi bike rental port. The bunk beds have privacy doors. Everything seemed really clean.
