Breakfast was very good and the view from our room and the hotel were amazing of the Eiger and other mountains. Our balcony gave outstanding views of the mountains - we could almost touch them from the balcony. The staff we're very lovely and accommodating and the check in, although we arrived late, our room key was waiting for us. Parking was excellent.

We were given one of the best view (corner room) with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. It was one of the rooms that had not been remodeled yet but I didn't find too dated, more traditional Swiss-style. The bed were very comfortable. The hotel offers a good variety of options for breakfast and it was delicious! Location is a bit farther away from town, which makes it quieter. There is a ski room at the basement of the hotel for storage and to vent your gear. The basement also has a ping pong table, pool table, a piano, games, etc that we ended up utilizing on a day when all the lifts and gondolas were closed due to strong winds.

Grindelwald lies at more than 1000 metres above sea level, offering top-class ski slopes and an imposing Alpine landscape. It is located in the canton of Bern, in the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aletsch is the largest glacier to be found in the Alps.
Although evidence shows humans have been present in the region for thousands of years, the first long-lasting settlements date back to the Middle Age. For a long period, the destiny of the village was attached to the influence of the Interlaken Abbey, until the times of the Protestant Reformation.
Tourist activity begun in the 18th century, bringing new life and wealth to the village. During the second half of the 19th century, roads and railway lines were developed, allowing a constant influx of visitors. The first hotel in Grindelwald was opened in 1888, and by 1914 there were over 30. Check the hotel map of Grindelwald and surroundings to choose the location that best suits your needs.

Beautiful views of the Swiss green and the snow mountains alike. Highly recommend Jungfraujoch , Grindelwald first, brienz lake cruise in specific. Do know that you would have to pay local tax in addition but can use the hotel card to claim some discount if you’re shopping / eating something .

Beautiful place, even just by stepping outside the room you'll be surround by beautiful snowy mountains. There is sufficient eateries, shops and supermarkets to cater to visitor needs. Getting around is breezy as there is frequent bus during the day. At night you could just walk around as the area is not too large. Getting into and out of Grindelwald is convenient via train. From Grindelwald you can access many interesting locations within 30 minutes: Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald-First, station to jungfraujoch. Even Interlaken city is less than one hour away by train. Please allocate enough time to experience winter sports in Grindewald

I adored my hotel and the spectacular views.
I adored my hotel and the spectacular views. The First slopes were great and relaxing, the snow conditions amazing. One off-putting aspect was that there was a crazy traffic jam on the last 5-10km to Grindelwald on my way up there, and the same thing on the way home.

I always hesitate to sing Grindelwald’s many praises because I don’t want the secret to get out and for it to be overrun. However, each year that I return sees more and more visitors, so I suppose it’s not a secret anymore. For hiking, relaxing, and other activities, this is my heaven on earth. It is a special rural place with warm and friendly people, surrounded by sky scraping peaks that have you constantly bewildered by the landscape around you. It feels like coming home each time I visit, and I highly recommend it as a place to recharge your batteries and revel in the splendor of Earth’s beauty.

The information provided 15 minutes walk from the station is...
The information provided 15 minutes walk from the station is incorrect. The property is up on the hills, if you travel with suitcase you will push for an hour to get to the property. Their is a bus 112 from the train station and stop outside the hostel but we were not told when asked how to get to the hostel, the respond was bus or taxi without advising bus number. We and other travellers pushed our large suitcase for an hour uphill, was terrible experience. When arrive at the hostel, very rude receptionist greet us with un zipped. The common and breakfast area was nice but the room and linen were terrible, I have not stated in a poor service hostel like this one.
Everything was great, location was amazing, view to grindelwald from the front garden was amazing (there is a tree blocking the view partially I prefer to cut it). BBQ tools available you can enjoy BBQ with amazing view. Apartment was very clean, and has enough car parking. Kitchen full equipped. You need to take apartment key from Hotel Jungfrau Lodge which is nearby the apartment, if you have a car so it will be no problem.
The location was perfect!! Right next to Grindelwald centre and cable cars for mount first (and if you go paragliding, the landing spot is literally next to the hotel which made our life easier!) breakfast buffet was delicious with incredible views and loved just sitting on the balcony. really helpful staff as well, they offered to give us recommendations which was great! :)
We loved the hotel, it exceeded our expectations multiple times. The interior in the shared spaces and in the room is very modern and well-balanced although you are in a traditional chalet. From the room, we had direct access to the balcony with a mountain view and a view over Grindelwald. The beds are super comfy, which is perfect after a long hike. A huge recommendation!
Exceptional location & view, staff are very welcoming and helpful, the ever best hotel I visited in the Grindelwald. highly recommended and would definitely come again to the hotel.
special thanks to the gentleman Mr.Nicolas for special welcoming explaining everything we need, also special thanks for Mr. Luca, very helpful gentleman.
The hotel provides free transfers from train station v.v. Location is quite strategic with walking distance to bus/train station, supermarket and restaurants. Grindelwald First cable car station just within 3-5 minutes walks. Breakfast was really good - the Lady serving at restaurant was super friendly.
I have been in many hotels around the world, but friendlyness of staff in the Eiger is really outstanding.
Great breakfast buffet with many local products, and with view to the mountains.
Eiger is located very central in Grindelwald, room spacy and clean, with free minibar.
Beautiful new hotel right in the middle of things in Grindelwald. Short walk to the First cable car. Very kind front desk staff. Helpful in planning two hiking days. Wonderful breakfast spread included. Nice spa for apres-hike. First class facility in every way.
Great property at the far end of Grindelwald. We had a Mountain View and were upgraded upon arrival to a small apartment style setup. We’re so thankful for that!
Bus service was free with a tourist card and the bus stop was one minute from the hotel.
thank you so much. I will return with my husband next time. excellent breakfast, location, friendly staff. incredible views from the spa and the single room I booked. my favorite hotel in Switzerland so far. I enjoyed my 5 night stay very much.
A family run luxury hotel is the best of both worlds. The team quickly resolved a booking error (my bad), and the hospitality, both the main restaurant and the bar, was top notch. Highly recommend for some recovery after outdoor adventures.
Room with a balcony looking up to the mountains, just what you need on a holiday. A cozy place to stay. The owners of the hotel were very polite helpful and patient during the stay. A must stay if you’re visiting Grindelwald!
The view of this hotel is awesome. Walkability is also superb. Just 5 mins away from Grindelwald station and 1 min away from the First ticket counter. If you are looking for a view this is the must opt hotel.
Excellent views of the Eiger from balcony, bus timetable runs like clockwork in Grindelwald which is excellent.
The staff st this hotel we're very attentive and nice, I was also able to use the laundry room
Best place to stay near Grindelwald.. just across the station. Hotel stuff are awesome and breakfast menu is fantastic. Rooms and facilities are as good as big hotels. Recommend if exploring near Grindelwald.
Beautiful hotel on the main street in Grindelwald. Provided private parking so we could walk into town to shop. The flowers outside the hotel were magnificent. Wonderful breakfast included with our stay.
I loved the cleanliness and coziness of the hotel. The staff are really nice and kind. The hotel is an old lodge and perfectly suits the atmosphere of Grindelwald!
The hotel was situated in a good location walkable from Grindelwald Bahnhof and walkable to Firstbahn. The room was charming, cosy, spacious and clean.
