Great location, very welcoming host with a nice tour round when I arrived, the whole place is very well thought out with a good mix of approachable friendliness and privacy, the small details really made a difference from the kitchen equipment to the wood pile and the reading materials provided was a nice touch, the communications from the host before I arrived were also very helpful to help me know how to find the place and what to expect,

Hotel Eilean Iarmain, hotel in Ardvasar

In a picturesque bay in the south of Skye, this hotel has beautiful views over the Sound of Sleat and the distant hills of Knoydart.

We had a lovely large room and bathroom overlooking the loch. We chose to eat in the pub/bar as we could have the dogs with us. The food was great and the bar had a great atmosphere. Afterwards we sat in the lounge area with our dogs. Breakfast in the morning was also excellent.

Beautiful scenery, ideal for walks- sound of Sleat, Tarskavhaig. Pier and shops nearby- fabulous pottery. A trip to the Castle and grounds also worthwhile. The Inn at Ardvasar due to reopen at end of April for food and drink. Petrol station and food store within easy reach.

The Inn was fantastic, the staff and service was excellent and so was the food. They were happy to answer any questions and were particularly helpful with one particular issue we had. Would definitely return

Rather quiet but there is a nice Hotel/restaurant/pub and a good local shop. There are some amazing walks round the Armadale Estate and also in the gardens. Within a few miles there are several excellent hotel restaurants and the amazing new Torabhaig distillery.

We thought Ardvasar was a cracking spot to stay on Skye especially for families. Views over to the hills on Knoydart are fabulous. Ferry crossing is just up the road and the Ardvasar Inn is great for food or a drink. Local beer/gin served and outdoor tables to enjoy the views. Had scallops and sea bass on as specials when we were there as well as venison burgers and also did decent kids meals. There's a shop/post office for supplies and plenty of family friendly walking. We loved the beach on Sleat Point just up the road and Armadale Castle was beautiful. They have a great play area and the gardens are lovely to stroll round. Not too far to Broadford either where there are shops and loads of eating places. We've been to Skye before but never to this part of the Island. We would come back.

The place is beautiful and peaceful. Would like to visit again in a few years when my baby is older so we could explore more! We went on a boat tour at Kyle and the kids loved seeing the seals and the starfish and crabs from the glass bottom!

Very nice rural community with a some great places to stay and eat. If you don't mind driving (alot) you can see the rest of the island. However, give yourself a few days. It is not easy to get anywhere...
