The breakfast (and all food) was consistently delicious, in their delightful pub and beer garden. The staff were attentive and proactive at all times and everything worked exactly as one might expect. We slept incredibly well, everything was really clean, and I was grateful for the water pressure of the showers over our days of hiking and kayaking!

Absolutely, everything about Sheildaig Farm was wonderful. Lesley, the hostess, was super friendly and very helpful. The staff were lovely too. As were the very well-behaved dogs.
Our room was very comfortable and what a treat having breakfast brought to the room in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble for Lesley.

Lovely wee toon.
Lots ongoing. KILT-WALK w/e.
Helpful locals.
Clean and tidy streets.
Pubs, cafe’s and shops doing a great trade.
Many outdoor facilities to choose from.
Shopping outlet by Loch Lomond a brilliant place to visit. The wee eaterie by Pavers Shoe shop is great for food, drinks, people watching, views and a good venue for men, when the ladies go shopping 😄.
This wee toon was rammed with walkers and “Kilties” ( people assisting the walkers and doing a great job of traffic management etc. keeping pedestrians and drivers safe , throughout the whole w/e ).
Outstanding wee toon.

Beautiful scenery on the walks to Loch Lomond shores, if you can get on the boat tour then I would definitely recommend, so tranquil. The Tullie Inn is directly next to the train station and across the road is the boat trips booking office. We’ve stayed here a few times. Pleasant staff, cosy, comfortable and clean spacious rooms.

We have stayed there before. Like where it sits on the Loch.
We have stayed there before. Like where it sits on the Loch. Easy access to parking. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food good and great variety. The only downside is there is no sitting area away from the restaurant at night. Could do with a little bar to have a quiet drink before going to bed. You can easily access anywhere else in the Balloch area.

Didn't spend a huge amount of time in Balloch bit did a Loch Cruise with Sweeneys which was very pleasant. Also took a walk through the Castle Park and saw a Red Squirrel there, park is beautiful too which also has a walled garden. Lots of places to eat in Balloch and big Coop open 7 days a week until 10pm

Apart from the House of Fraser shopping centre there was not much else. Ideal for walking an=round the area but the town itself is in need of investment as it was pretty shabby, poor example of the gateway to Loch Lomond

We had a headache at the airport picking up cars, but the hotel staff was very helpful when we arrived VERY late, and it made the different. The room was well proportioned, clean and ventilated. We were a group of six sharing, but we did not feel too crammed in, and with 2 bathrooms in the room all felt well treated. Great location with a pub across the road, Coop a short 5 minute walk away, and right near the Loch. Easy to get to, and easy to travel from. Balloch was clean and non threatening. Very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely.
The apartment was very spacious and comfortable, within easy walking distance from Balloch. Lovely to park outside, there was a table and chairs outside at the front too. Lots of restaurants and shops in Balloch and you can walk to the river and catch a ferry or tour of Loch Lomand, also near to Loch Lomand Shores, worth a visit if you like water sports, adventure playground for children, Sea Life and a few shops.
It was lovely to have space, rather than cramped hotel rooms great value for money and very clean.
We could not have asked for more! Sheildaig Farm was absolutely perfect. Our room was so well-appointed, from the breakfast/coffee/tea/snack provisions (which supplemented the cooked breakfast) with fresh fruit and chocolate to the little fan for some extra air movement to the little hotel slippers. Comfortable true king bed. Lesley and the precious pups Ellie and Penny were so welcoming and friendly. Gorgeous adjoining field for walking and taking in loch views. The property is absolutely idyllic.
Most ingratiating host ever who cooked us the best breakfast we had on our Scotland trip. Our room was plenty large, had heated bathroom floors and towel warmer, and a super comfy king bed (our first in a two-week stay). The lodge is within easy walking distance to Loch Lomond and there's a lovely walking path along side the Loch. If you want more restaurant options than are within walking distance, you'll need to head out in your car.
Perfect location in Balloch straight across from the tiny train station and close to all things nearby. Loch Lomond is just a quick walk away. Amanda is a superb and very warm, welcoming host who goes beyond to do everything to help her guests. Breakfast was good and plentiful and the rooms were all lovely and clean. Definitely would recommend staying here for anyone.
Balloch House is conveniently located near the train station overlooking the river. Accommodation is over a beautifull pub, where breakfast is served. My room was clean and well decorated. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great service! It is a perfect base to explore Loch Lomond. Not far from Glasgow airport.
Big clean room with a well-stocked kitchen and living space. Comfortable bed. Loved having access to a washer and dryer. Gordon was very helpful getting me checked in and talking through some nearby attractions to check out. Property is stunningly gorgeous with a beautiful sheep farm next door.
Very pleasant stay. The owners are extremely caring and welcoming. We really felt at home. Breakfast was delicious. We didn't have a car but the owner kindly gave us a lift to be able to arrive to the central bus station at Balloch on time. We would definitely come here next time
Gillian and Brian were the BEST hosts. They gave us advice on where to hike and even provided wellies for us to use. They were so friendly and attentive, and our son had a great time playing with their children. Their location is a beautiful and relaxing setting as well.
The apartment was clean, comfortable and welcoming. There was bread, butter, tea and coffee. Very convenient for the hospital. Quiet residential location within walking distance of both Balloch and Alexandria amenities. Friendly host visited to check we were comfortable.
Megan was lovely and helpful. The breakfast was one of the bests that we had while traveling throughout the UK. The bathroom is spacious. Her place is spotless. It's a 15 minute walk to the Balloch Castle and Country Park. Great value for money.
owner was very helpful. Really great position for train station a trip into Glasgow 50 mins. Five mins to Balloch Caste. on holiday with my niece 2 very comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. lovely roof patio with great views
Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Great location in Ballach, right on the bus route which was handy as we didn't have a car and only 10 mins walk from the train station. The hotel itself was quiet and staff friendly.
The hotel was fantastic and clean throughout. The setting along Loch Lomond was stunning and we had an enjoyable stay. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. One of the best value hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
Excellent location for Loch Lomond, wifi was superb.
Staff were good and responsive and did their best while trying to run a bar, restaurant, nightclub and hotel. Not fair on them.
Andrea was welcoming and the house is perfectly situated to walk in to Balloch and the train station, making it easy to access attractions without having to drive.
Nice place clean and tidy, plenty of milk coffee etc definitely would recommend it and I would come again if staying in balloch as it not far from train station
