lovely friendly and helpful staff. Not stuck up despite being a prestigious resort. Great bedroom with 2 comfy chairs! Great choice of activities and places to eat.
Parked our car and helped with luggage. It is difficult to find fault with anything. Thank you.

We had a headache at the airport picking up cars, but the hotel staff was very helpful when we arrived VERY late, and it made the different. The room was well proportioned, clean and ventilated. We were a group of six sharing, but we did not feel too crammed in, and with 2 bathrooms in the room all felt well treated. Great location with a pub across the road, Coop a short 5 minute walk away, and right near the Loch. Easy to get to, and easy to travel from. Balloch was clean and non threatening. Very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely.
On the edge of Loch Lomond and a 30-minute drive from Glasgow and its airport, this 4-star guest house has hearty Scottish breakfasts and free Wi-Fi.

Helpful locals.
Clean and tidy streets.
Pubs, cafe’s and shops doing a great trade.
Many outdoor facilities to choose from.
Shopping outlet by Loch Lomond a brilliant place to visit. The wee eaterie by Pavers Shoe shop is great for food, drinks, people watching, views and a good venue for men, when the ladies go shopping 😄.
This wee toon was rammed with walkers and “Kilties” ( people assisting the walkers and doing a great job of traffic management etc. keeping pedestrians and drivers safe , throughout the whole w/e ).
Outstanding wee toon.

Beautiful scenery on the walks to Loch Lomond shores, if you can get on the boat tour then I would definitely recommend, so tranquil. The Tullie Inn is directly next to the train station and across the road is the boat trips booking office. We’ve stayed here a few times. Pleasant staff, cosy, comfortable and clean spacious rooms.

We have stayed there before. Like where it sits on the Loch.
We have stayed there before. Like where it sits on the Loch. Easy access to parking. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food good and great variety. The only downside is there is no sitting area away from the restaurant at night. Could do with a little bar to have a quiet drink before going to bed. You can easily access anywhere else in the Balloch area.

Didn't spend a huge amount of time in Balloch bit did a Loch Cruise with Sweeneys which was very pleasant. Also took a walk through the Castle Park and saw a Red Squirrel there, park is beautiful too which also has a walled garden. Lots of places to eat in Balloch and big Coop open 7 days a week until 10pm

Apart from the House of Fraser shopping centre there was not much else. Ideal for walking an=round the area but the town itself is in need of investment as it was pretty shabby, poor example of the gateway to Loch Lomond

Host Andrea, was friendly, attentive, personable and obliging. The guesthouse is small, cosy, reasonably priced for Balloch, clean, nicely decorated with personal touches. The breakfast was tasty plentiful, fresh and again presentation and touches makes a huge difference. The location was not far from Balloch Castle Park 5 min walk, Loch Lomond Shores shops 20 mins, boat trips 10 mins etc, restaurants 15 mins, all of which suited our purpose. Our stay was a positive and enjoyable experience. and I feel it is a guesthouse with a lot of heart!
The apartment was very spacious and comfortable, within easy walking distance from Balloch. Lovely to park outside, there was a table and chairs outside at the front too. Lots of restaurants and shops in Balloch and you can walk to the river and catch a ferry or tour of Loch Lomand, also near to Loch Lomand Shores, worth a visit if you like water sports, adventure playground for children, Sea Life and a few shops.
It was lovely to have space, rather than cramped hotel rooms great value for money and very clean.
We could not have asked for more! Sheildaig Farm was absolutely perfect. Our room was so well-appointed, from the breakfast/coffee/tea/snack provisions (which supplemented the cooked breakfast) with fresh fruit and chocolate to the little fan for some extra air movement to the little hotel slippers. Comfortable true king bed. Lesley and the precious pups Ellie and Penny were so welcoming and friendly. Gorgeous adjoining field for walking and taking in loch views. The property is absolutely idyllic.
Absolutely stunning property that sits behind a 1930’s Art Deco (former) hotel. Property has been finished to an extremely high standard and is completely kitted out with everything you would want (if not more) on a home away from home stay. Lot’s of added touches like toiletries, tissues, washing up liquids etc. Master bedroom is massive and has a beautiful en suite. Smaller bedroom equally lovely/cosy. What a fabulous find on booking.com. Truly wonderful place to stay and enjoy beautiful Balloch.
Perfect location for a weekend with our two teenage children and dog. The lodge was perfect! Exceptionally well equipped, very clean, and comfortable. We can't wait to book again and would highly recommend the lodges. Duck Bay is a five minute walk away and you can also walk into Balloch which is a lovely town with so many nice pubs and places to eat. Also very dog friendly. Balloch House was a particular favourite - we had the most delicious roast on the Sunday.
The property was in a great location for exploring the local area with Loch Lomond only 15 mins away by car , train station is at the end of the street along with Sweeneys cruises if you wanted to boat over , there was also an information point in the shop nearby where the staff were very friendly and helpful in advising us on our options . The hotel itself was extremely clean , with wonderful staff who made us feel so welcome - the breakfast is a must 😍
The room was lovely and clean, the bed was comfy, breakfast was fantastic more than I expected and our host couldn't do enough for us. Very close to the Balloch castle and party for a lovely walk and the train station is only a few minutes away that goes to Glasgow. I'd definitely stay again.
room was lovely, it had a comfortable bed with a large smart tv. bathroom with a big shower and bath. all staff very friendly and the pub inside had a nice vibe with a huge selection of gins and a live band. if ever staying in balloch again i would definitely be back.
we met friends who were staying at cottage nearby and did some water skiing on the loch. Was great location for duck bay and cameron house hotel. We also visited Luss by car which was only 10 mins up the road. Lovely walks and cafes for lunch.
Very comfortable place
Good location - Quiet and peaceful
Highly recommended to anyone who loves nature
Balloch is one of the most beautiful and romantic places in Scotland.
Walking distance from the train station to the apartment 👌👌👌
The room was suspicious i booked a standard room with garden view and when arrived i upgraded it to lake view with balcony and it was very nice , the breakfast was really good , the location is great , a real luxurious hotel
Nice, peaceful location, in the centre of Balloch. The room was warm and cosy, loved the coffee machine as well. The hotel has a spacious lounge with a good selection of drinks. Would definitely visit it again!
Comfy bed and spacious room! Super helpful staff and friendly locals in the pub downstairs. good food and drink selection. Loved the location next to the park and within walking distance to Balloch Castle!
We have used the restaurant many times. It is one of the reason we like to visit this part of Scotland. But this is the first time we have stayed in the Hotel and it will not be the last time. Fantastic
The room was very spacious and the bed very comfy. Breakfast was great, the restaurant served great food. The hotel is some distance away from the centre and the train station. The staff was awesome!
Lovely spacious apartment. Home from home stay with all the home comforts that families may need like a secure garden, Netflix and good WiFi. Location is great for exploring the local area.
Not much really. The location was ok, in the centre of Balloch. Families might enjoy the garden (although it does feel like staying at someone else's property)
