Incredibly good value. Surprised to find such a clean, comfortable, well-decorated room for the money (we booked last minute). Recently completely refurbished. Tea, coffee, biscuits- nice big mugs. Our only regret was that we didn’t eat there, as we’d originally intended. It was very busy indeed on that Sunday afternoon (we should have taken this as a sign) and we fancied a quiet drink, so crossed over to The Devonshire Arms and enjoyed one in a pleasant area. We then made the mistake of eating there, too, and had a really dreadful meal (they couldn’t even manage a good fish and chips). So, there is a reason for the crowds at The Wheatsheaf! We will, for sure, eat with you next time!
Big car-park. Easy walk directly from there to Chatsworth. Manageress very welcoming.

Amazing location within a lovely part of the Peak District with access to walks nearby. The cottage is really cute near a little stream. It is very well equipped in the kitchen with everything you would need. Huge aga-type gas stove which unfortunately we wished we could have used but didn't stay long enough to! The room on the first floor has a double bed with everything you need. The bathroom was lovely and clean with lovely smelling body wash and lotion provided. The upstairs room has two single beds with everything you need. The host was really timely in responding to our queries.

Great location
We would have liked to have had our evening meal there but the choices for meat free were poor tbh so all 4 of us went to the Italian down the road.

Baslow is a fab place.
Baslow is a fab place. It has lots to offer, including The Cavendish Hotel, which is amazing! There are lots of places to eat, with a variety of styles. It is easy to get round Baslow. I don't need to avoid anything in Baslow, it's got everything I like.

A pretty village with a couple of independent shops, restaurants and pubs (can highly recommend the food at the Prince of Wales.) The main attraction is Chatsworth though which is fabulous and never disappoints!
Lovely room with a comfy bed, modern updated bathroom with one of the best hotel showers I have ever had. The room was spacious and decorated so nice! It felt cozy and luxurious. We loved the breakfast. You could tell it was made with love. Bonus that the food was all sourced from local farms in the area. Such an amazing value for a really unique experience. The property manager was kind, helpful, and check-in/ out was so easy! The property was in close proximity to Chatsworth house. Must stay location in the Peak District.
The room was beautifully appointed with incredible views over the Chatsworth Estate and the wildlife (including red deer) that live there. Breakfast was delicious and the lovely lady who hosted us couldn't have been nicer... even with my strange breakfast requests!
There's private access directly onto the estate from the B&B so you can walk until your heart's content, and a selection of lovely pubs in Baslow. 10 minutes from Bakewell we felt spoilt for options. We will be returning!
Superb dinner on the Sunday evening even if we had to walk it off over the Edges and along the River Derwent more than 11 miles the next day! The staff made our stay really special in such lovely surroundings and the Hall is in easy reach of the village of Baslow for pubs when their restaurant is not open and of course Chatsworth which we've visited several times. Highly recommended.
Myself, my husband and 6mo old son had a great stay! The lodge is really well set up and comfy, and has everything you'd need. It's in a very convenient spot and there are some lovely pubs, walks and farm shops nearby. The communication with the host was great - very friendly and provided useful tips, and very easy to follow instructions to get into the property. Would recommend!
What really made our stay memorable was the quality of the food served at dinner. Thanks to the chefs Joe and Danny. The menu was unusual and exceeded our expectations at a fair cost.
The staff in the bar was friendly and it had a nice vibe.
Additionally, it was a nice touch to be given birthday Processco and the complimentary local beers.
Easily accessible location in nicely renovated farmhouse on the edge of the Derbyshire Dales with quick access to Sheffield and the peak district. Lovely room, with equally lovely shared bath (except there were not allowing it to be shared due to Coronavirus, so we had to ourselves). Lovely homemade snacks, tea and coffee left for us in the room.
Everything,it was in a ideal location for our visit to haddon hall, our stay at the wheatshef in baslow was excellent, the facilities were very good the room was very good, the food was outstanding and the staff were amazing.would definitely stay here again.
Loved the location, views and spacious. Very private and quiet despite the roads nearby. There was even an outside area for use in good weather. Additional security with gated access.
Efficient and very friendly staff .Excellent food and service in the restaurant.Quality room with fine linen and towels .A very good location with easy walking nearby.
