A lovely historic town with some tourist attractions within walking distance. We spent a day exploring the town and visited the model village, the motor museum and Birdland. There are many cafes and restaurants to choose from; in warmer weather it would be lovely to eat outside and enjoy the views of the river.

Food options are varied, good old English, Italian, fine dining and tapas. The village is beautiful with many old properties that are well maintained. Pubs are oldy worldly and very busy at weekends. Plenty of good coffee shops. Paid Parking is available at either end of the village if staying over 1 hour so no problem parking. Village parking is restricted. Walking options are all around and many locals are happy to oblige if you need directions.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful place full of character.
Absolutely stunning, beautiful place full of character. We visited slightly out of season so was not too busy. Smiths is an amazing restaurant, specialising in gourmet burgers, you will not be disappointed! Lots of other independent shops selling a range of crafts, antiques and much more.

Beautiful village but extremely popular.
Beautiful village but extremely popular. Try and avoid visiting over a weekend if you can. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and there were so many people everywhere! And this was in October. Monday was much quieter but still people wandering around.
Much quieter in the evening once all the day trippers had left. Sunset was a great time to photograph the village with our the crowds.
Lots of eateries. Found the Wellington pub not as busy as the fancier looking places, but they did a very cheap and delicious Sunday roast lunch.
Bourton was a good base for us to see many other villages in the Cotswold area.

Lovely little place. Perfect for one night. Great central location in pretty Bourton on the Water. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The host was very friendly and came out to help us find a parking space when we arrived. She also offered us a map and was very knowledgable about the local area. Breakfast was fine. The cosy, homely accommodation, the friendly amenable host, and the stunning cotswolds location made this is a lovely short break.
The property is in an excellent location in the heart of Bourton on the Water with close access to local restaurants, cafes and pubs. The room was spacious with an adjacent large bathroom comprising free standing bath and shower unit. The bedroom was very comfortable with excellent views over looking the river - window seats available for relaxation. Equipment including small fridge and coffee/ tea making.
warm welcome from staff, excellent room and guest parking metres from the front door.
The room was spacious, well decorated and the little extras were much appreciated. Plenty of fluffy towels, coffee machine, all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was a delight, excellent choice, again wonderfully friendly staff. Encouraged us to leave the car in place until checkout and explore the village.
Loved the feel of the property compared to a more traditional hotel - the atmosphere suited the cotswolds vibes in a way you wouldn't be able to replicate if it was a large business.
Location was faultless, and had excellent access/parking arrangements.
The toiletries/facilities were very thoughtful, and we really appreciated this.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful too.
Beautiful room.
The location was perfect. Bourton on the Water is beautiful. Everything was within walking distance. The hotel was beautiful. The room was very clean and stylish. Lovely soft furnishings and a tasteful colour scheme in keeping with a beautiful, old building. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely be returning.
Brilliant location. Right in the heart of this beautiful village. Staff were amazing. So friendly and welcoming. Hotel is immaculate with a wonderful Italian restaurant. Breakfast was delightful... dog friendly too. I will not hesitate to stay here again. A small intimate hotel were nothing is too much trouble.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The position very good (Bourton on the Water itself is great place to stay if you are visiting the Cotswolds area). Free parking. The hosts very lovely and they cooked us a delicious breakfast! Very happy, definitely good value for money! We will go back!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Chester House Hotel. Very much so if we are even in the area again, we will go back there to stay. Our room was cozy and very clean. It also has a nice garden, and the hotel is in a lovely area.
Everyone that works there is very nice and friendly.
Great staff and restaurant . Bar was amazing .. the bartenders made us the best drinks after a long journey. Annie the hotel manager took great care of us - saw to every detail and Adam arranged a private tour to the Cotswolds. It was pure heaven !!
This B&B is superb for proximity to the village centre and overall I was very satisfied with the service provided and the accommodation. The host was very friendly, the breakfast was good, the premises clean with all the mod cons.
Perfectly situated outside Bourton on the Water so quieter but only a short way away. Lovely staff especially Justine who looked after us very well. Stunning village. Great walks. Dog friendly.
ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds - breakfast was very good at the Lansdowne next door - they also bring it round for you if you don’t want to leave the cottage which is such a good idea
The room was lovely. The staff were incredibly welcoming and could not do enough for us. We stayed with our dog and the hotel was very very dog friendly. A really lovely place to stay.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, nice and quiet traditional Cotswolds pub/hotel in a perfect location, dogs allowed, good full English breakfast included in a good price.
Great spot to explore Bourton on the Water, which gets quite busy on summer weekends, so it’s helpful to have a central base.
