The room was good. Didn't expect to receive complimentary breakfast in the room. The staff was helpful to direct us to the car parking space.

Location was ideal and we had a good experience with the staff - the young lady was very good, in checking us in she was attentive and thorough, and careful to check our expectations of the amenities. She had a natural talent for hospitality.

Small village with some independent shops . Church bells rang out on Sunday morning which was nice .We didn’t spend time in Dalton looking round since we were heading to Ulverston to the Dickensian festival there. We did however pop to the pub next door but one to the rental cottage . Nice cosy traditional pub with friendly bar staff. Didn’t eat there but food looked good that came out of the kitchen.

Not a pretty place to stay, I’d have much preferred to be further into the lakes. Only one pub sold food out of four or five pubs. Not many places locally to walk the dog, had to jump in the car whenever we wanted food or walks.
A very residential town, not really suitable for tourists.

The Brown Cow pub serves amazing food and has a lovely beer garden to sit in on a sunny day. There are other local pubs but we weren’t sure what was open during current circumstances. The locals were very friendly offering suggestions of where to visit and eat which was very helpful. We visited Ulverston which is just down the road and is another pretty market town well worth a visit as is the local Safari Zoo where you can get up close to lots of animals!
