We were only there for one night, but we’re recommended the Globe for a meal, and it didn’t disappoint, on the way we dropped in at the Annan distillery well worth the £25 tour and the driver gets his or her tasting pack to take away with them.

Beautiful place with a breathtaking view. Very pretty garden. The house is absolutely gorgeous, very spacious, comfortable furniture everything super clean and brand new. Jan and Colin are the nicest people on earth rescuing us from the back of beyond with two flat tires. I want to come again and stay much longer.

We called in to a few pubs and the locals were all very friendly and chatty even to us English ha ha. The town was clean and we had a nice walk across the river along a park then back again. There was plenty of places to have a drink. We only went for the football at Queen of the South and I would go there again given the chance.

I visited with my young grandchildren to attend the Wigtonshire Book Festival which was a great success, as was the accommodation.
However on the Sunday evening, after the Book Festival, There was nowhere suitable available in Dumfries to take three children for an evening meal before travelling home to Stirling. Quite disappointing.

I was only there for 2 days, for a Watercolour workshop, so unfortunately didn’t have much time for sightseeing, but it seems a very historic and interesting town

Second time i've stayed and again the people who run Hamilton House were wonderful The room I had with the double bed was clean, very comfortable and I had plenty of space and was worth every penny. The breakfast was delicious and the dining facilities were warm and welcoming. Hamilton House is close to the train station and not far from the town center so it's ideal for anyone whos' never visited/stayed in Dumfries before. I am really looking forward to going back again soon.
Great accommodation, had everything we needed. Very modern and great location, easy walk to town centre and lovely riverside walks . Perfect base for exploring along the Dumfries and Galloway coast with lots of lovely places to go and was so nice to come back after a day out and be able to relax in the Stables outside space which was great with a table and 6 chairs as well as 2 comfy reclining loungers
Would highly recommend as we thoroughly enjoyed our time here
Euan Maxwell runs an outstanding B&B to rival most hotels and nothing is too much trouble.
Room and en-suite bathroom were spacious and immaculate in all respects. Bed was clean and comfortable. We made use of the guest kitchen which is very fully equipped. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast.
We will certainly use Southpark House again when we need to stay in the Dumfries area in the future.
Perfect location for a peaceful stay, Dumfries Town centre was a short drive away. The lodge had everything we needed, no complaints whatsoever. The owner was very prompt in answering a query we messaged him with on our arrival. My 9 year old son gave the place 5 stars 🌟
Would highly recommend & look forward to returning.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and in a lovely location, not within walking distance of the town centre but a lovely place to spend some relaxation time and a good place to travel from and see the surrounding area. The rooms are beautiful and the food was excellent in the restaurant in the evening and a lovely breakfast
We needed a Pet Friendly guesthouse in Dumfries for the two of us and our Rough Collie dog for a night. Aderdour was perfect. Amanda made us welcome and gave good advice on where to walk our dog and where we could take our dog with us to eat out. Breakfast was a treat too. No hesitation in recommending.
Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Hotel grounds were very nice with outside seating
Appreciated 24 hour reception and air con.
Have had poor breakfasts at Holiday Inns pre-covid and wasn't expecting much but the breakfast buffet was better than expected - similar to a Premier Inn buffet.
Beautiful location near Dumfries. We were amazed that you could walk around the forest behind the hotel (also used by mountain bikers), it was really special. Lovely dining area and reception area with sofas and the food was delicious (we had dinner there). Staff were attentive and helpful.
Roberstson, our host, is very nice and accommodating. He served us a delicious Scottish breakfast every morning. The rooms were large, very clean and efficiently furnished. The town centre is a 5 minute walk away. We would love to come back. Whenever you are in Dumfries, stay there!
Within reach of town centre and plenty of parking. Comfortable bed and room equipped with usual facilities. Self-service breakfast at the hotel next door was good value and offered a good selection of items. Staff at the hotel were helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Dumfries villa. The bed was very comfy, the breakfast was lovely, and the location is great (situated near the train station - but can’t hear the trains, and a 5min walk away from town centre).
Located in the heart of Dumfries, the host was very organized and access to the room was easy. Our stay was short so we didn’t have time for breakfast, but the room had lovely flowers and we were very comfortable there.
It was exceptionally Covid aware and clean. It's a lovely old Station Hotel next to the railway station. The staff were very obliging and the pre booked breakfast was extremely well organised by two staff members.
A home from home. Very nice touches with plants and pictures. Lovely welcome pack. Good communication with owners. Ten minutes walk from town centre and access to sightseeing in Dumfries area is easy.
Staff most welcoming and felt we were important to them. Evening meal and breakfast as good and better then many other hotels I have stayed at. Room, clean, warm and bed was superb.
