Very disappointed, asked for an iron ( as advertised) at 6 50 pm explained we had a table booked for 8pm they didn't accommodate until 8 30 after numerous requests and asking to speak to the manager of the hotel, it was apparent they had given the iron to another guest that had not returned it, a hotel with 40 rooms and only 1 iron is not appropriate, we had travelled over 4 hours if it hadn't have been advertised that an iron would be provided we would have prepared for this, this comes in my mind as entrapment offering a service that is not always available, so the out come of this misdemeanor was we missed the family meal as we didn't leave until just after 9pm, very unprofessional, also would like to add the receptionist not cooperative at all, after asking numerous times and speaking on the phone to him, he didn't seem to understand the problem, my daughter rubs a b/b and was shocked at the way we were treated, you should only have to ask once for a problem to be sorted, not 4/5 times up and down many stairs and ringing, we should not have done the running around for the receptionist they should have sorted the problem out immediately or within reason I'm certainly not a happy customer

My wife is Gluten Free and the owner went out of his way to put together a lovely breakfast for her. Lots of other hotels just don’t bother.

Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm. The Piece Hall is a spectacular piece of history and Architecture which, is being preserved by the trustees imaginative use of the grand space. Shopping, eateries, bars, seasonal events and entertainment. And, now it’s hosting some big name bands and doing really well. Lots of little market towns (Think - last of the summer wine) & historically rich in and around Halifax Town. Lots to do for entertainment if you visit

Supposed to be secured front door only access was a code provided but on arrival doors were open. On message to property they said they will get engineer out as no body as told them. That was not true as we met another guy staying at property and said he had told them several times.
Floor boards up in room letting in slugs and again told them and they said sorry and thanks for letting them know as first time this as happened, again not true as read other reviews.

Halifax has a wide range of shops, pubs and fun things to do. Everything is fairly close together and there's plenty of places to park your car. There's a great choice of places to eat from the big names such as McDonalds, Burger King, KFC as well as some more independent eateries, including a Greek restaurant. Halifax town centre also has a cinema, mini golf, the famous Piece Hall which often has live music, markets and more.

The Piece Hall was great to tour round with lots of individual shops and places to eat & drink.
The Minster is interesting & worth viewing and there is a reasonable shopping centre.
At the moment there are lots of road works which for an outsider quite difficult to negotiate.
The crossroads inn is a perfect mix of country pub with amazing views, but with the city center easily accessible by car or taxi. We were going to a gig at the piece hall, and the extremely friendly staff called us a taxi which came quickly and got us into town easily. The food in the pub looked great, but we didn't get to try it because of our arrival time and need to get into town. The room was very clean and comfortable.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone stopping near Halifax.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We ate here for both evenings of our stay as the food was delicious and reasonably-priced. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed everything we chose!
Plenty of parking available and a good location for easy access into Halifax and the surrounding countryside.
The bed was very comfortable and room very pleasant.
Staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. The room was elegant and comfortable with a nice view over trees to distant hills. Lots of car parking space. Breakfast was not included but it was good value and delicious. The hotel is in a nice old building with a lively bar two floors below the rooms. No problem with noise. Excellent value for money.
It's a lovely location.
The staff very welcoming and friendly.
We had a very quiet room, as requested.
Enjoy a lovely evening meal, joined by family. Just perfect.
Definitely will revisit.
Handy for The Piece Hall in Halifax and Shebden House, which we visited for the first time the following day.
Room was lovely and absolutely spotless. Comfy bed and plenty towels and good tea/coffee options. Really close to a bus stop in/out of Halifax - it doesn't run late but handy for daytime.
Excellent, friendly, welcoming staff. Large comfortable room. Excellent value for money. Good quality breakfast. Beautiful old building. Convenient, central location in Halifax.
Clean & spacious room with comfortable bed & basic facilities in a quiet area close to the centre of Halifax. Details of the key codes were explained sufficiently beforehand.
Friendly, professional and all members of staff ensured our stay was comfortable and relaxing.
Food excellent .
Very clean accommodation.
Good base for Halifax.
The breakfast was adequate as my husband likes full breakfast and I like Continental
The hotel was near the centre of Halifax and had its own car park.
